I hired auto appraisal group to inspect a used vehicle that I was purchasing and the inspector did not find that the car needed a new transmission. It made a very blatant noise and was not found by the expert
I sell classic cars and have dealt with numerous appraisers and even refer some to customers with no issues. This group came to my home to appraise a Restored 57 Chevy BelAir, for a customer, and the appraiser was very nice. I bent over backwards for him and even let him use my lift to do a thorough inspection.
2 weeks passed and no word from the customer, so I gave him a call. He was very irritated because this appraisal group, whos fee is $300, ended up charging him $550. The customer was so mad he wouldnt even discuss the appraisal with me and ultimately lost me the customer. I call AAG and asked for the number that the appraisal came in at and they refused it and said if I wanted they could send out another appraiser and charge me.
I will never refer another customer to AAG nor will I ever allow a customer to have AAG to inspect my cars, even if loses me a sale. I supplied them a customer, let them use my lift and shop to do the inspection, they overcharged him, lost me a customer and wont even tell me what the appraisal came in at on my own car. If it wasnt for me and my car they wouldnt have made anything.
I hired this company to do a prepurchase inspection of the vehicle that I was interested in. the transaction needed to be completed by Friday so I had called earlier in the week to get this scheduled. . I was first assigned to an inspector who was away on vacation several states away. I then called back to the company and they reassigned it to a gentleman by the name of Bill. Bill was very nice to speak with. He assured me he would get out immediately to look at the vehicle. Upon his inspection he called me and left me a voicemail telling me that the car was in great condition that there were a couple blemishes on the drivers door in the clear coat. The undercarriage looked good the car ran perfectly and it was a small tear in the driver seat. He further told me he was unable to send me the report or the pictures as he had to wait for his children to upload it because he did not know how. So taking him on his word of the condition of the vehicle I made the purchase to find out four days later when the car arrived via professional transporter that the car had been painted very poorly the run marks in the back of it were horrible, the exhaust system was perforated by rust and needs to be replaced from the engine all the way back. When I called to express my disappointment I was told to bad they did their job and it was my problem. I also said I did not receive my report as I contracted. Suddenly I received an email telling me the report was available more than a week after the car was delivered.
