In 2016 a team was organized, money paid to Atlanta Blue Jays ( Anthony Dye) & season was cancelled. He did the same thing in 2015. Don't support this organization who uses kids & rips off their parents.
Anthony Dye promotes his youth baseball organization (ages 14U through 17U) by a promising competitive schedule at legitimate well known baseball venues. Commitments and schedules are written and handed out to all parents through each team's coach. The fees are typical of most baseball organizations. Anthony particularly and fraudulently sold 15U team's coach specifically. Three tournaments were promised in writing to parents.
Two PBR, one extraneous and one pro style work out. Fees were collected mid September. After the first PBR tournament, Anthony decided to cancel the second of the three tournaments then replace the third one with a lesser known venue in Florida for a weekend tournament. Almost all kids are in high school students based in TN, GA and AL making a spontaneous weekend trip to FL a hardship on both students and their working parents.
Mr. Dye also used profusely harsh profanity at the pro style workout to 13 and 14 year old kids and parents. This wasn't a forgivable one time slip. According to boys, every sentence. Mr. Dye never even showed up after the first day. Whatever bootleg baseball organization he is pushing, buyer beware. Requests for partial refunds have gone unaddressed. Nothing worse than and liar and a thief.
Didn't experience what others are claiming on this site. My son was not looked at as elite or ranked player, but the coaches saw something in him. Now, he is going to a great 4 year college on a scholarship. Practices were intense, but, after one fall in college, my son says that the Blue Jays prepared him like none other. To be part of this organization was truly a blessing.
Don't get used and get your hard-earned money taken by this organization. Mr. Dye has lied over and over again and always has an excuse for any questions that relate to money, travel, players, etc. He never responds after he's been approached and won't return calls or emails. He has never refunded money that he promised he would and has never responded to the BBB complaints. The rating for this organization is an F. He goes on local TV stating that he wants to support kids in the Atlanta area, but that is so not true. Look at his roster. The kids who do live in Georgia are not the kids he is referring to as "wanting to help." He only wants to help himself, not others. The kids who live in Georgia that are on his team are the kids whose parents can pay big bucks. Again, look at his roster. There are kids from all over the country. These are kids who are recruited by him and Mr. Loureiro because they are ALREADY good players and are ALREADY getting lots of looks and attention. He wants them so he can make himself look good and claim to be the reason they make it. Seriously, he gets them (takes them) when they have already developed to a level that brings scouts to see them. They would do this no matter what team they were on. These players are given a place to live and even some of the Georgia players are asked to let them stay at their homes. It's all about using some to get others where he wants them to be. As long as you are paying money and don't question him or ask for any records he will treat you kindly. Look deeper into this man's history and keep your young men away from him.
Ok, I just googled atlanta blue jays to see if this program was still around and whether or not their owner, anthony dye, was still in business and saw this thread. Unfortunately, it appears they both are.
I'm not a current player but I'm bored, looking for a job, and have the spare time to shed some light on my experience with the atlanta blue jays even though this thread is old.
Our team was actually one of his very first. As a hitting and fielding instructor (hadn't created the blue jays yet) he was initially all smiles and jokes. Very upstanding guy. When we decided to make him our coach, everything was downhill after that. Despite all the negatives, we still won him one of his first championship titles. But, it seemed that our parents would pay good money for us to tryout and play for his team, only for him to bring in "hotshot" players free of charge and play them over everyone else whenever he wanted. I personally wouldn't care if you brought in hotshot players to start a new season, but bringing people on midseason or for a tournament free of charge is ridiculous (especially when they choke). Of course, that's what east cobb and a lot of other big teams did so it's not too big of a deal. But, a lot of those players he brought in ended up not doing well at all so big help that was.
He definitely had his favorites as well but that can change in an instant. One slump, one bad outing in a tournament and you're dead to him unless he's invested too much time and money in you.
Practices became brutal. He wouldn't even show up for those anymore so we weren't getting his "expert" hitting and fielding instruction. It was all in the hands of Steve. But he carried out Anthony's orders well. 5+ hour practices in the middle of summer with record high temps. At one point, and I don't know if this wonderful tradition still carries on, if infielders or outfielders didn't field a ball smoothly in practice it resulted in some form of sprints. You need to be well conditioned to endurea baseball season. But using sprints as a form of punishment for making a physical error is stupid. I could see this type of punishment for lack of hustle, dogging it, or maybe a mental error, but errors happen and running us into the ground won't make us better. When it came time for games, Anthony would show up. His presence was mostly intimidating and less than helpful (and I'm the type of person who says keep your head down, shut up, endure whatever you have to, and get the job done but even I was intimidated).
Eventually, a lot of our players went separate ways either to east cobb, staying with the jays, or a couple of other teams. But basically, the camaraderie and greatness of that team was destroyed.
Notable mention goes to one of our tournaments where our players were found to have drank the night before in the hotel room. Anthony took it upon himself to run the kids involved to death the next day after our game. I can't recall exactly what happened since I wasn't at that but I believe one of the kids had a seizure or awful asthma exacerbation or something somewhat serious occur. What did anthony do then? Told us not to tell our parents or talk about this incident ever again. I'm actually surprised that night didn't turn into some sort of law suit bc what he did was incredibly irresponsible and dangerous. I guess his lack of concern for anyone but himself and his authority to run us to death or play someone else over us was the main reason I was intimidated by him.
That's a short little overview of my experiences playing for the blue jays. His assistant Steve had a little more promise in him but he ended up being a pretty bad coach as well simply by affiliation with Anthony.
I will say this though. He does have connections and he can help you get places. But at what cost? Do you really want to risk burning out or worse your physical health? You better make sure you stay on his good side or you won't get anymore help from him despite investing thousands of dollars in his so called expertise.
So to really answer your question, I don't think he's good at coaching, the teams can be competitive, he can expose you to college but so can any other big name team/coach/tournament/showcase, practices were awful and probably made me worse, no I'm not a better player because of him.
Despite almost burning out playing for him, I did end up playing college ball.
It appears that not much has changed. Many of us and our parents felt like he was ripping us off (financially) but he continually fed our parents garbage about what only he could do for us and they wanted to believe him. He is definitley good at conning and lying. No one really knows much about him or where he really played ball or IF he played ball. He told us he played for the royals, but they don't have any info on him. He somehow got himself involved with pro players because he had a few good players that he took and now wants to claim that he made them the players they are today. They were already players, good players and because they made it to the pros he now says it was because of him. He obviously doesn't support kids from the local area unless they have money, but gets guys from other states to make him look good. I guess he only can field one team now and now they say on the website that's a good thing "One Team". So he gets these guys from other teams or hears about guys that are good from other states who are already getting looked at. There are so many good programs now that I hope people don't get used and abused by the atlanta blue jays program.
Atlanta Blue Jays Baseball, a travel baseball club based in metro Atlanta, recruited and organized an age 15 and under team for the 2015 Spring/Summer tournament season. A number of players/families joined the team and paid fees for the 2015 Summer tournament season. On Monday, June 1st, on a conference call with the families, the club announced that there would be no 2015 Spring/Summer team due to coaches and some players leaving the club. During 2015 there were no services rendered, practices held or any games played. On that June 1st conference call, the club indicated that a full refund was available. However, as of June 13 no refund has been received and the owner indicated via email he is unable to pay at this time. The owner had no idea how much had been paid, indicating poor record keeping.

Best Baseball Experience for My Son
Hands down the best baseball experience for my son especially after having been in other programs. It was awesome!
