On April 13, 2017 I arrived to Ashley Lodge, located at 188 Judge Street, Harleyville, SC
29448. I had made the reservation through Hotels.com for two rooms for one night. As I mentioned to the receptionist Veronica at the time, the accommodation was very unsatisfactory in the following ways: When we arrived at the property, the hotel didn't look like any of the advertised photos on the website. Although we had booked on Hotels.com and supplied the number of guests, we were informed of a $10 charge for extra adult. We asked to see the policy that defined this but the receptionist was unable to produce any policy document. The hotel had many people wondering outside like vagrants, we did not feel safe. We asked to see our room before making any decisions whether to stay. As we walked to the room there was a drunken client in his room with his door open and music blaring, and dog barking. Again, we didn't feel safe whatsoever.
The rooms that we were shown were in desperate need of maintenance, the lights didn't even work in one of the room. We decided to move on and not stay. The accommodation provided was not of a standard of cleanliness and quality reasonably to be expected from this type and price of hotel. On April 14, 2017 I contacted Veronica at 843-462-2022, Ashley Lodge receptionist asking to talk to her supervisor. I was informed she was not there at that time and I was promised by Veronica her supervisor would give me a call the next day.
On April 15, 2017 I never received a call from the supervisor. I contacted Veronica again and she informed me she gave my number to Vivian Faulk, her supervisor. On Monday, April 17, 2017 I contacted Vivian at 843-554-4140 and she informed me that she were never given my contact number; however, she would work on this issue. I have made multiple attempts to talk to the supervisor and the hotel manager and resolve this issue. This issue has not been rectified with reasonable care as of today. Therefore my consumer rights were violated. It rurned out that Veronica cannot refund my money that charged because it has to be down by her supervisor Vivian, Vivian informed me that Veronica is in charged of it. Stay away from this hotel, it is in a very bad neighborhood and hotel personal very rude. It is a rip off.
