I received an email from Juliette Townsend on 21st June this year that Art Platform NYC would like me to join their project called "VISUAL THOUGHT: Art & Expression" . She was so excited to know more about my work and delighted(what she said) that all the staffs are unanimous that my work would be an excellent addition to the project. And she made my profile page on the site the very next day.(without telling me that she would do. I had sent her iphone images which were in poor quality) Everything went so fast and she was so in a hurry to make me sign the contract and make a payment.

She sent me emails 1 to 2 times a day. But after I made my payment(950$) on 24th June(just 3 days after her first email), She started to slow down. I sent my proper images for my profile page but she didn't reply, after few days she said she didn't receive the images. I sent her again but it is never updated and even more my page does not appear on the site.

After receiving emails from other artists who have made contract last year and received nothing promised, I asked about this to Juliette and my page was gone like other artists. She said my page is still there and sent me a link. My page was only able to be seen through that link and no one could find my page from the Art Platform Site.

I also claimed that there's only my sign on the contract, no one from the Art Platform signed the contract, that the contract is not valid that I want to hear her explanation and I want refund. Also I asked her to tell me who's in charge of the Art Platform NYC so that I can speak with him(her).

Paula, the account department staff responded me that she cannot comment this. Juliette emailed me there's nothing more that can be provided about my inquiries. They are both not answering to my email since then.

Also my credit card was charged 47.5$ on 5th July(11 days after the original payment) without any permission or reason. I emailed Paula and she did make a refund about this one payment, but I know that many other artists are double or multiple charged and not payed back. Paula and Juliette are claiming that the multiple chages were system problem(system that automatically took 500$, 47.5$, 150$, 300$...etc by mistake). When I asked Paula the prove of the cancelation of 47.5$, screen shot with name of the person in charge, she sent me a screen shot with my name only.

I've never seen their names on official contracts. Too many artists have lost their money, time and energy. I'm hoping no more artists get involved anymore.

Myself and at least fifteen other artists are all being scammed by Art Platform NYC. New artists are coming forth daily. Each of us signed contracts with AP within the past year for inclusion in a professional art book to be marketed to bookstores, galleries, collectors, etc. We were also promised exhibition platforms for our visual arts, such as fairs, auctions and placement in galleries and private collections.

None of the promised services have been provided. Appointments are constantly cancelled, communication is obscure and fractured. The book has never materialized, though one of us was sent a link for the book on-line. Another received a tracking number but no book within three weeks. Others have been told the book is not published yet.

Attempts at demanding the services promised, and threatening conversations procure nothing but excuses, apologies, and promises of better treatment that doesn't arrive.

We artists have orgainized and are making attempts to get our money back and the company exposed. They are unaware that we are now working together. I have filed a case with the Volunteer Lawyer for the Arts and am now contacting new agencies that assist civilians with fraud cases.

Art platform NYC

I paid 1650 us dollar in may 2015. I had a presentation on the webpage but now its gone. The contract says I should be represented in HIGH IMPACT art book and get 8 ex of the book. They did nothing!!!! And it´s not possible to find the book for sale anywhere online as the contract says. They was very helpful and professionaly in the beginning and I recomended them to other artists and thats make me feel really bad today. Best regards Tobbe Malm Norway

I would like to report against Art Platform NYC.

Since June 2016 I have been in contact with them. They promise a looooot of great thing regarding promoting my art.

Obviously non of the promised have been made. Me and my husband work hard to gather the money to pay them. We have been approach by Juliette Townsend and after months of nothing... we contact them and a new member appears as Laura Stevens.

We are going to see if we can take legal action.

Hi, I am one of a group of twenty artists (and growing) who have been scammed by the company, ArtPlatformNYC, at the hand of Juliette Townsend.

I signed on with this company in March of this year. Prior to signing, I had lots of communication with Juliette. After signing, the company went silent. Someone named Charlie, a writer, contacted me a couple weeks after I signed up with questions for an online "interview". But the subsequent communication from him was a string of unmet promises and missed deadlines (that he himself had set), totally unprofessional.

After deriding their professionalism, Juliette conatcted me. For a while, I was satisfied, though nothing materialized of the "interview" which was suposedly finalized. I had had no comunication from them for three weeks when I hooked up with thie group of 20 artists.

Hi, I am an artist in Bristol, United Kingdom.

I, and a number of other artists, have been the victim of an art scam by Art Platform NYC, contact person: Juliette Townsend.

I am part of a group of artists (20 at the moment but the list grows daily the more artists that are contacted) who have been deceived.

We have purchased services and products that have not materialized, several of us have had unauthorised credit cards payment taken on multiple occasions, in my case twice.

Most of the artists being “represented" by Art Platform NYC, like me are located overseas, which is how AP is managing to get away with their fraudulent behavior.

A separate report has been made with the FBI as well as other organizations but I thought it best to notify you in case this information will be useful to you and your affiliates.

In November 2015 I signed a contract for 8 months with Art Platform NYC. They promised representation to various galleries a special feauture in a magasine, and participation to international shows.

As soon as the contract was signed it became increasingy difficult to get hold of the so called curator, Juliette Townsend, and nothing at all materialised. Ms Townsend occasiionally answered an email or phone call requesting answers, by giving more and more imaginative excuses, and promising that everything will be all right, pretending to be excited about the forthcoming shows she was trying to make us believe she was organising.

Needless to say nothing at all happened, and apart from a representation on their website none of the things they said they would do was fulfilled.

They are a complete scam designed to fool artists into giving them money, and nothing else.

Every artist on their website that I have contacted have had the same experience. One example of their dishonesty is to pretend they have a buyer, ask for the artist to send his/her work, and then after months of silence they say that the buyer pulled out. The lucky ones, like me, are the ones who managed to recover their works.
