On June 9, 2017 i went to Arizona Drive Llc. to purchase a 2005 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Pick up. I was told that it would be ready for a test drive when i arrived. I left Safford and drove to tucson, 127 miles trip one way. ,When i arrived in Tucson to check our said vehicle it was in the bay with the hood up.
I proceeded into the office and spoke to Adrian, the dealer i had spoke to on the phone that morning.
I asked Adrian what was wrong with the truck, or what they were doing to it? He stated the thought they were putting in a egr valve and it would be ready shortly to test drive. While waiting for the test drive we started on some paperwork to see what i kind of payments i could get and if i would qualify for a loan to purchase the truck. While doing the paperwork Adrian mentioned an Extended warrantee i could purchase for 1000 dollars that would cover the engine and transmission for 15 months, i told him i would have to think about it.
Adrian excused himself for a minute and the returned to the office and informed me i would not be able to test drive the truck because they would not be done with it in time. We discussed my down payment of 6000 dollars and I got with my SSI person and faxed a paper to her to request some money be put in my account to pay this down payment. I advised him we would have to wait for the money to hit my bank account and i would return to tucson and finish the paperwork and purchase the truck. Before leaving he asked if i could put 1000 dollars down to hold it for me, which i did.
On June 13, 2017 i returned to Arizona Drive to finish the paperwork and take my truck home.
They let me take it for a test drive and i when and again they mintionedfinished what paperwork i had to finish with the dealer, and again they mentioned the extended warantee, i said id let them know when i came back to finish the paperwork. Then went to Hughes Fedreal Credit Union to get the loan.
While at the credit union i recieved several messages in text and voice mail from
Adrian asking where i was and if i was still signing papers. still have these in my phone.
After finishing the paperwork at the bank, i went back to the dealership to get my truck and finish the paperwork, and again pushing me to get that extended warantee, which i agreed on. Finished all the paperwork and got in the truck and came 127 miles home.
I live in a small town and not alot of miles were put on the truck. 20 miles outside of travel home and out to get tires as the ones that were on it were almost bare and wasnt feeling safe.
Drove the truck home. The evening of June 16th went to drive to get a soda and the truck wouldnt start, i had it a total of four days and on June 17 I lifted the hood and checked the water and oil and the battery water levels to see if it was something simple.
I checked the radiators and it had oil in the water, got a video of prood, then i checked the water in the resivour and it had transmission fluid in the resivour also on video. I then called the dealrship and told them of my finding and they told me to use the roadside assistance on the waratee i purchased and at 3:30pm on June 17th had it towed by flatbed back to tucson to the dealership. When the flatbed took the truck it had two new tires in the back, that had been removed when i put new tires on it.
on Monday June 20 i called and talked to adrian to see if they had found out what was wrong with it and he advised me i was mistaking that there was no oil in the water. I told him i had video of the fact that there was oil in the radiator and he said he had video that there was no oil in the radiator. that they had flushed the system and he would look at my video when i came back to tucson. He then told me that the reason it would not start was because of the alternator and battery and they had both been replaced and that i could come get the truck on June 21st.
On June the 21st i drove back to tucson and when i got to the dealership the truck was in the bay and the hood was up. I proceeded to the office and showed Adrian my videos and all he had to say was HUH.
Then the owner/manager showed me his video he had taken to prove there was no oil in the radiator, it consisted of him standing about ten foot back and videod the water draining out of the radiator.
I then asked Adrian what was wrong with the truck, why it was still in the bay? He said the radiator was leaking and the were replacing it. He then told me that it should be done in a couple of hours. Adrian told me i could go get some lunch and it should be ready when i get back.
i did so, while eating lunch i recieved a call from Adrian and he told me the truck would not be ready today and that i could go ahead and return home and he would let me know when it was done. Probalbly on the 23rd of June.
On June the 23rd i drove back to tucson to get my truck being he didnt call to tell me any different, when i got there the same thing, it was in the bay with the hood up, i walked of to the truck where the mechanics were standing and asked them whats wrong with it now. they informed me it was the water pump and i walked away to talk to Adrian.
I was again told it would be done in a couple of hours and then i could take it home.
We went to get some lunch and give them time to finish it. After having lunch went back to the dealership and was informed that it wasnt gonna be done today.
I then sat down with Adrian and asked him why he couldnt call me when it was not going to be ready and id made so many trips of 300 miles he should compensate me some how for all the waisted trips id made to tucson. He then stated they were thinking of giving me a loaner car to take and then i wouldnt have to drive my car. I turned him down on the loaner car and I told him i was thinking more cash for the gas and wear and tear on my personal vehicle. He said he thought that would work.
I also asked Adrian if they could to an pressure flush on the tranny to make sure it was all good and to do a diagnostic test on it. He stated yes we could do that. They said they would have copies of diagnostics test and a copy of what they had done to the truck to fix it.
On June the 26th i spoke Adrian on the phone and he said the truck was done and i could come and get it. Adrian also said they had decided to compensate me for all the trouble and i would see him when i got there.
I drove back to tucson and when i got there Adrian was not there. Kumar was the one i dealt with. I ask him about the compensation Adrian had promised me and he said if thats what he said, they would make it good but Adrian had an emergency and had to leave. so no compensation was given. There was no copy of diagnostic test and did give me a list of what they had done to the truck.
I asked if they had done the pressure flush to the tranny and they said they had checked it out and everything looked good. to not worry about it, it was all good.
Kumar asked his partner to go bring the truck and park it in front. When he went to start it it wouldnt start, After a couple of tries for it to start.
I then looked in the back of the truck to see if my tires were there and they were not, but they were in the back of the truck when i went on the 23rd. I asked him where my tires were and he got all imbarrassed and said he had put them in storage and sent the other man to do get them.
I then brought my truck home from tucson. On the 27th i took my grandson to the skate park and the check engine light came on so I took it to Auto zone and had a diagnotices test done. Got the results to the test and waited till the next morning and called the dealership.
Kumar then asked me what i was doing to it and i said i drove it home. He then stated that he had already put alot of work into it and i had to have done something to it.
He wanted me to tow truck it back to tucson and i told him no that wasnt gonna happen that he could have the nissan dealer look at it and tell them what was wrong with it. He then stated that i could use my warrantee to pay for it and i said i would not use my warantee to pay for it. That he should have never let that truck off the lot like that and that he would pay for it or i would see him in court.
On June 28th Kumar called the nissan dealer here in safford and found out that it was the transmission and something to do with aftermarket parts in the throttle body.
Heated discussion persued and Kumar agreed to pay for it
I took my truck to Nissan in Safford in the afternoon the same day and they fixed it and returned it to me on the 6th of July 2017
Out of almost 30 days of Ownership i had it in my possetion for five days.
We took out a loan and bought a used van here on 10/31/16 because the used truck we had had for 11 years finally stopped working. I am a nurse, my husband also works full time and we have an autistic son that we need to be able to get to therapy twice a week so we needed a working vehicle.
Within the first week and a half we brought it back in 3 times because it was not going into gear at times while driving. The dealership said they checked it out twice and drove it around another time and said that everything was fine. By 11/14 the van was inoperable. It would not go into gear at all.
I called the dealership on 11/15 and the owner said that he could not do anything since the 15 day warranty had passed and that they would not be able to fix it there. We had it towed to a reputable Honda garage who told us that the transmission needs replacing, rack and pinion is leaking, oil pump housing is leaking, power steering pump is leaking, power steering pressure hose leaking at connection, timing belt needs replacing, right inner CV boot is torn, all motor mounts need to be replaced. $8, 266,00 to fix it and $3,815 just for the transmission. We had gotten an extended warranty for $1,500 but cannot afford to pay the rest to fix this vehicle.
The garage told us that this car was sold to us with an obviously bad transmission and that they would have know that from the 3 times we brought it back to them within the warranty period when it was not going into gear, the garage said that they were clearly trying to string us along without fixing it until the 15 day warranty passed.
When we told the owner about the problem he said " It's your baby now" and that there was nothing he could do. We are now stuck with a car that we cannot afford to fix, paying on the loan we took out for it, my husband has missed quite a few days of work and my son has missed 2 months of therapy.
They called us in today and said they would take it in as a "trade in" not at full price since it is our used car now, and we could take out another loan for a van more than double the price of the one we bought. This is fraud. Do not trust this business.
