Dont be fooled. articold has a great web sight. looks like they have a cooling unit for every rv refrigerator ever made. and the price is right with a life time warranty. thats where it ends. it took over a month to get the unit they said they had in stock. i cant prove this but i think they have very little in stock and have somebody somewhere make one up as the orders come in.
ive installed the unit and reinstalled the unit making sure the problem wasnt something i did. i tested it in my garage, it gets cold but never cold enouph. on a warm day it would never hold milk. ive tried contacting steve at articold a number of times. its always a recording that promises to get back to you in a couple hours. IT NEVER HAPPENS. i finally bought a new frig for 900$ two hundred more than the 700$ i wasted on the after market unit. after messing with this unit all summer im sure ill never get my money back.dont make the same mistake
Artic Cold refrigeration is a complete fraud company. There are many stories of fraud if you research the company. I purchaced a refrigeration unit and promised a 3 to 5 day delivery window. 2 Month's later I cancelled my order thru paypal. The Company begged me to come back and again swore to ship in 2 days if I did. I was stupid enough enough to be swindled again. A month later I again recancelled the order. Buy only with paypal or credit or you will lose your money. A office manager takes most of the calls if you can get them. He lies each time he speaks with you. This man even had the nerve to tell me he shipped my order to me via Houston. I live in California. This was a few days after all the flooding. Of course there was no tracking numbers and of course my unit was flooded. Artic cold warehouse is in Maine in America. Lie after Lie. They log your number and refuse to take your calls after several weeks of attepts at checking status. Under no circumstance purchase from these Canadian Crooks. Buyer Beware. Research their lies and fraud allegations.
Purchased a new cooling unit September 26, 2016 and after installation unit never worked properly . Would not cool refrigeration section of fridge below 48 degrees. Needs to be between 32 to 38 degrees to work properly.
After 2 months of operation unit failed completely. Worked with Arcticold service tech and was put through days of testing and result was unit was no good.
They advised they would replace under lifetime warranty agreement on the unit. After 10 weeks of trying to get them to send new unit and 28 calls and numerous emails to them with no results they now are not even answering their phones. Promises were made by made by Steve, saying unit would be shipped every second day and many excuses as to why it has not been shipped.
The only alteranative I have left now is to take this company to small claims court to recover the $1,700 I have into this disasterous exercise.
My recomendation to everyone out there is do not buy anything from this comany and hopefully someone will shut them down to keep from ripping good people off.
Norcold refrigerator 1200 Arcticold refrigerator cooling unit.
I called Steve at Arcticold last June 29,17, I reported that my cooling unit had failed. He had me run several test to confirm that the cooling unit was bad. I installed the cooling unit last spring, so it was less than a year that it failed. Steve said he would send me another unit under warranty.
I have called Arcticold at least 14 times and left messages for a return phone call. I have also sent over 6 eMails with no responce. This is now the middle of September, and I still don't have any replacement cooling unit information, or shipping status. No one from Arcticold has ever called me about this warranty claim.
I have been waiting over 5 months to get a Warranty replacement Dometic Coil.
On November 6, 2015, I... (More) I have been waiting over 4 months to get a Warranty replacement Dometic Coil.
On November 6, 2015, I had a new Coil replaced into my 2004 Mandalay, Thor RV Coach Dometic refridgerator. This coil was ordered and installed by Steven G. Halsted, Brownsville Mobile RV in Brownsville, CA. I waited over 2 months for this part to arrive from Arcticold! Product # ARC-LW-D12-3, Serial # 7030N22815008, total cost to me was $2520.48 for part and installation. The Warranty has a life time guarantee and 2 year service guarantee. I filled out my paper work on the warranty and sent it in to Arcticold the next day after installation. On December 23, 2016 my refridgerator suddenly stopped working. I called Steve Cormier at Arcticold and he stated that they were having a Christmas Party and to send him an email and he would return my call on the following week after Christmas. When I didn't hear from him after doing as he instructed, I began calling and leaving messages on a daily basis. He never returned my call. I continued to call throughout the month of January and leave voice messages to call me. On January 24, I had taken my RV into Louisville RV Center in Kentuckty for another issue and asked them to diagnose my refridgerator problem. I paid an extra $100 to have this done. They stated that the coil was defective/bad. Once again, while at Louisville RV Center, in front of the owner, I called Arcticold and someone named Robert answered the phone. He talked to my RV repairman and stated that we should have completed their checklist for issues before a replacement unit could be sent out. This was the first time we had actually spoken to someone at Arcticold and was told we had to fill out a problem check list. Since he insisted this must be done even though he was speaking to the RV Repairman that had just diagnosed the problem, we complied, filled out his checklist and faxed it back to them. We continued calling to see when the replacement coil would be sent without getting satisfaction from Arcticold representatives. Seven weeks ago, we were finally given a tracking number and was told that when the Carrier in Houston received the unit, we would know when to expect it to get to Louisville, Kentucky. No one can tell us the status of where this Unit is in delivery and it appears to be still somewhere in Canada. We can't get Arcticold to answer the phones despite daily messages. I am a 64 year old widow, living full time in my RV. I can't travel anywhere because of this issue or waiting for a replacement part! I also have not had the use of a refridgerator for over 4 months now. I called Arcticold yesterday and left 1 more message to them. This time, I told them they had 24 hours to contact me before I filed this complaint. I've not received a call from them. It has now been over 2 months since Jeffery told us on the phone that my coil was being sent to Cooper Transit. We (my son and I) have called repeatedly and left numerous voice mails or told that the unit was in transit. Today, (May 11, 2017), Jeff stated when called that the unit is just now being prepared for transit! Lies! Lies! and more Lies! I have a date of leaving this area in Kentucky and traveling to Sioux Falls, SD for my son's 2 year schooling on June 30th, 2017. We are NOT coming back to Louisville no matter when this coil arrives! I am a widow! This has caused me untoll stress! I've been without a fridge for nearly 6 months! These people should be prosecuted!
