I've held off on writing this for a while. I gave Jeremy Frombach every possible chance to make things right.
In September 2015 I gave him a $3k down payment for a custom bike. I did some research prior to doing so, but "Archive Honda" didn't have a bad reputation at this point and after talking with Jeremy and checking out some bikes/photos it seemed legit. By November 2015 there was still no candidate/donor frame, just excuses. In September he said he would have the bike ready by December (which would be impossible at this point) so I ask Jeremy for a refund and I'm told, "Your money is gone."
I then decide to search his name instead of "Archive Honda" and the results I found couldn't have been more agonizing. Turns out this is his 4th shop in 4 years in the LA area. Just changes name/location when the debt, law suits and negative reviews pile up.
Several months go by of just trying to get a bike, any bike, from this guy. In March 2016 I finally get a bike. It is not the "holy grail restoration that will stand up to magnifying glass level scrutiny" as stated in the ad.
I pay the balance in addition to a $300 fee for paperwork/registration/title. It's been almost 3 weeks now and still no plates/title in hand. The owner has blocked my phone number and won't return voicemails/emails. I finally got a hold of him to see why he hasn't paid the fee for the paperwork yet and his response was "Your money is gone."
