APS Arizona Cheating Solar Customer with triple rates! unfair practice!
I was contacted by Freedom Forever Solar In Phoenix Az. with a sales quip that by getting Solar installed by Bills from APS ( electric company ) would be between $15.00 and $25.00 per month, saving me thousands! And the elctric company was suppose to buy back excess energy produced by my system, with a rebate in December!
My electric bills were around $130.00 per month average. Since I am on Social security disability fixed income, which I well adviced the sales rep. This was suppose to be a good option to lower my electric cost !
In Reality after Solar installed July 1st, 2020. My immediate bills were higher , much higher , than what was quoted me. I contacted the solar company who showed where I was producing 800-900 or more kwh per month. Which should be enough to cover my use. So I then contacted APS customer service, who stated I neede4d to build up credits over the winter. which made zero sense to me. Both companies kept bouncing me back and forth. PASSING the buck. Also that suppossed $5600.00 government rebate thaty was suppose to be coming in January 2021 ( repeatedly told me was a rebate) turned out to be a tax credit, totally useless to anyone without substantial income and tax payments. I made it abundantly clear from the start that I was low and fixed income.
electric bill before solar for July $136.32 , after solar installed $154.11 , Solar bill for August before solar $138.72, After Solar installed $272.73 ( yes that is right almost double with solar) This August 2021 Bill is headed to $230.00 or more.
It seems that without any notice or advisement APS automatically puts SOLAR customers at an UNFAIR disadvantage by charging them peak rates ( nearly triple normal rates with fees) with zero options to change.
thereby they are RIPPING OFF Solar customers!
I notified Attorney Generals office and filed a complaint ( so far no response) with Mark Brynovich.
People need to be aware of this. I have lots of pictures and screenshots including the Ad stating $15.00 electric bills! I can no longer afford food or gas for vehicle Thanks to APS. Praying someone does something about this!
The Energy commission approved this unfair rate hike advantage to Solar Customers for APS effectively giving them a $100,000, 000.00 ( that's 100M) profit from cheating Solar customers!
I have produced over 800 kwh this month , but APS gave me a $ 1.52 credit.
Okay, APS is a monopoly and obviously can charge whatever they want. What happened to public service?
In two months in a 2 bedroom condo, living alone my bill totalled almost $900 and they offered no answers to my questions as to why it tripled, and more than doubled from the same month last year.
I have to pay it. What else is there to do? I talked to a manager and that is the answer. Monopolies should be against the law. Period. If there were competition then all this would change. If no competitors then the government must step in to stop this madness.
Called up number on internet and they came out looked at refrigerator and said my computer box was bad paid 330 dollars they came back put it in and still didn't work had to pay a different appliance company to fix and they havent giving me any type of refund been talking to these thieves for months supposedly the check is in the mail, dont use them.

In August of 2016 a micro burst hit an apartment complex I was
living in. The damage was severe and all occupants were asked to
leave. The building was determined to have structural damage.
At some point I had phoned APS and requested my service be moved
to my new residence. I dont recieve a paper bill because I review
my bill on line. I had noticed an address that appeared above my
new address, which was my previous address. I thought it was posted
to reflect my prior service address.
Turns out APS never shut the power off the previous address. I asked
APS to transfer the service on August,10,2016.I did not realize I was
being billed for both addresses until I phoned to enquire if that was
the situation. I found out that I was be billed for both addresses.
I asked for an adjustment to the account. APS refused to adjust the
account.
APS states they reviewed the call and APS states I never asked to have
the service disconnected. APS states I asked to leave it on. Why would
I ask to leave power on in my name when the building was condemmned and
no one allowed to live there.
