According to their ad, this company offers reasonably priced anti-virus software ($19.95). But when you call the number given at their site (1-855-491-2547) you reach a representative who remotes into your computper and takes you through a long explanatin of why you need their upgraded service ($249.00). Ripoff #1, bait and switch!
But worse, after I declined their upgraded service, I was no longer able to boot my computer!! YIKERS!!!! Ripoff #2, nailed!
So I spent over two hours on the phone with them, placed on hold, and being transferred from one representative to another (including a "supervisor" and an "expert technician") trying to reboot my computer. None could do it.
Then they told me if I bought their upgrade at $249 they would fix it. I refused to do that until they returned my computer to the condition it was in when I contacted them. They offered to reduce the fee to $150. I stated that I would consider the upgrade only if they fixed my computer to where it would boot again. They agreed.
I was then transferred to several other "representatives" and "technicans" who took me through various procedures to boot my computer, but none could do it.
So then they said if I paid $199, they would boot my computer (yes--$49 more than they promised the first time). I refused saying they had already offered $150. They said that was no longer offered...WHAT!!
I was put on hold, yet again, and a represntative came back on the line and said they could not fix the computer because I could not get on the internet. So I mustered up my remaining patience and asked if they knew all along they could not fix my computer if I could not get on the internet, why had they assured me they could fix it if I paid their fee? With that, they hung up on me.
I will now have to take my computer somewhere locally to be fixed and pay them for these people's mistake.
Please save yourself hours of frustration, having your computer become un-bootable, and having to get your computer repaired at your expense by staying as far away from these people as possible.
