I contacted a moving broker service company and placed a down payment of $1,400 to reserve a moving date on Saturday 6/20/15. On 6/23/15 I called and inquired about cancelling the move because I did not think I had enough time to pack up the house before the movers came. I was informed that I would lose $250 of my $1,400 for cancelling on short notice or they would allow me to place my move on "hold" for up to a year. I elected to place the move on hold while the house was on the market. Four months later the house has not sold and I'm going to take it off the market for the winter and see no reason to let Apollo keep making interest money on my deposit so I called to get my deposit back until I put the house back on the market in Feb/March. They now refuse to refund ANY amount of money. I even cancelled within the 3 day "cooling-off period" which is a federal law and was open to them keeping the $250 fee previously mentioned. Now I'm being told I'm not eligible for any kind of refund. This is obviously very poor business practice/morals. All their yellowpage reviews are fake, the accounts were created the same day the review was made and it was the only review ever made on that account. Horribly dishonest. I've made a BBB complaint and am contacting a lawyer about the cooling off period federal law. Extremely disappointing to have to go through this kind of mess.
I wish there was a negative rating scale and these guys would score the highest possible negative rating. Absolutely horrible services. While getting the deal, they are super nice, available and pretty much saying 'Yes' to everything.
1. 2 days before the pick up date 09/11, we got a call from Apollo saying the movers ll come on 09/12. I called back to confirm this on 09/10 and they still told movers will come only on 09/12. Because of this, we were partially prepared on 09/11 as we had another 24 hours of time.
But the movers arrived on 09/11 surprising us and we were forced to box unpacked stuffs. I was at work and my husband had to take care of everything in less than 2 hours. We tried to talk to Apollo guys and they blamed the actual mover/driver while the driver blames Apollo.
' THIS WAS THEIR TRICK TO KEEP US UNPREPARED AND MAKE SOME EXTRA/EASY BUCKS($300-$400) AS WE LANDED IN AN UNCOMPROMISING SITUATION'.
2. After interstate move, as per contract Apollo was supposed to keep the items in their storage for a month for free. Within this month, they were supposed to move the things to new apartment and assemble them. But they call us to inform they have no free storage and absolutely unwilling to adhere to their own contract. Again they blame the movers/drive while driver blames Apollo. ALos, they told that they never agreed upon storage and that we had asked them to move the thing to our new apartment. Funny part is we didnt even rent /have an aprtment while booking with them and how on earth will I ask them to move to my new apartment?

3. To add to this 1 OF OUR BOXES IS MISSING. Plus the coffee table is fully BROKEN and in unusable state.On contacting, they bluntly asked me to contact Always Affordable( third party movers) and deal with them. When I booked with Apollo I wasnt even told about third party guys. Its only when addressing the issues they blame it on third party guys who in turn blame Apollo.
While complaining about the missing box, I once again discussed all of the unpleasant services they provided and I mentioned about taking legal action as they have been lying and continously victimising me at every stage. As a reply I was told ' ARE YOU SUGGESTING THAT YOU DO NOT NEED ANY HELP FROM US TO FIND YOUR MISSING BOX?'. The person literally was blackmailing and hinting me that he will not help with claims if I take legal action!
Apollo Relocation Services are not at all professional, but a bunch of cheaters and liars taking advantage of their customers situation. They should be sued for all the tricks they come up with. They not only cheat and make money but victimize their customers and make them go through a lot of mental pressure and stress.
Nightmare or a moving company. We had a binding not-to-exceed price, but once the job was loaded, we were charged an additional $4,500! No one at Apollo would answer the phone. The "movers" showed up on a rented truck and refused to show me the rental agreement. We had NO IDEA who we were dealing with. Refused to show id. Threatened to dump our stuff in the driveway and write us up as "refused services". We called the police, and guess what? The guy gave me a fictitious name. We knew we were in trouble, but had no choice. Then, we got bombarded with emails from at least 5 different companies with different payment instructions! Jump to 4 weeks later, only some of our items were ultimately delivered. The boxes we carefully packed, (U-Haul boxes, specifically built for moving) were crushed, had an oily substance on them, were ripped open, and banged up.
Of 144 items, about 28 boxes are still missing. We also lost items including an expensive bicycle, power washer, tools, 2 huge surf boards, tabels, etc. Our chairs were broken, our cabinets bashed in. The delivery people called their warehouse and they said they had some of the missing items, but didn't know who they belonged to since there were no stickers on them. What we thought was good news turned out to be a dead end. Apollo failed to contact whoever has our items. Apollo has given up on us after telling us every excuse in the book. We were told to file a claim and someone would look into it. Really? Apollo couldn't figure it out, so how is the "service company" they push you off on going to straightn things out and get us our missing items? We would give this company the worst review possible, and advise all others to avoid using this company if you ever want to see your items again, or if you care about your hard-earned money. NIGHTMARE!
