We had a small back up in our basement laundry room main drain and our toilet in the basement bathroom, near the laundry room, was not flushing correctly, like it previously had been. We had Any Hour Hour come out to clean the drain they cleaned it and then ran a camera in the line and told us that we had corroded pipes under our foundation. They told us it would be $6,200 to fix but that it needed to be done and that would fix the laundry room drain as well as the toilet. We agreed and they began work.
After working for a full day they told us that there was more corroded pipes that they had not seen and it would cost an addition amount for a total of almost $8,500. We felt like we did not have a choice since it needed to be done so they continued to work. When they completed the job and we paid them they left my house in disarray. They left my house a mess, drove on my lawn and ruined my grass, nicked all of my walls, left the new cement they put in uneven, left a pipe protruding so that I cannot put the sheet rock back over it and did not explain any of that. They said they may crack a few tiles in my bathroom around the toilet getting it out and they broke almost every tile in the whole bathroom.
They said I would not be without any plumbing or laundry overnight and we have been without washer and dryer for 3 days and kitchen sink overnight. After explaining our concerns they said that we should have known that that stuff needed to be done to complete the job and maybe they should have explained things better. I was told they would talk to my home owners insurance about the problem and have yet to return the ladies phone call so my claim has been denied.
Scott lied and then stopped returning my calls when he got my money. After some talking with them we were able to work something out with them regarding that. Later they went back on that deal but we have emails and texts where they agreed to credit out credit card $750. for the damage. Jesse sent texts saying he put in the credit on April 2nd but out credit card company sees nothing about that. He lied!!! We then re-did the tile in the bathroom and installed a brand new toilet. After installing it, the toilet still not flush the way that a toilet should, it flushed the way it had when we called them out.
When we called and talked to Jesse Wheeler at Any Hour he sent someone out to look at it. The first guy that came out said that the toilet was fine but they would have to call someone else out with a camera to look at the pipes under the toilet, the pipes they had just replaced. When the guy came to do that he tried but said that he could not see with the camera without pulling up the toilet and breaking the new tiles in the bathroom. We told him we did not want to do that unless they were going to replace the tile or compensate us since we just had it put in. He left and said he could not do anything then.
We called Jesse and he tried to say that it was the toilet but the guy who was at our house earlier said it was fine. The work they did has a one year warranty. I wonder now if the pipes even needed to be replaced, maybe we just needed a new toilet, if what he is saying is true. And if it is the pipes, we just paid a lot of money and mess to have it fixed. then they are still not working correctly. The laundry room drain seems to be draining fine but not the toilet and that is one of the reasons that we called them. There was no way to know that the toilet was not going to flush correctly until the tile was put down so we could install the toilet, but it is a brand new one that Home Depot says will work great on correctly laid pipes.
I paid a lot of money to complete this job so my laundry room and toilet would work correctly and one still does not. Although they said they will come look at it they will not replace damage, we have already had to replace and repair once. My fear is that they will pull up the toilet and destroy our tile and then say that they don't know what it is or it isn't something covered. When doing the job they tore out the pipes right up to, and including the toilet, we have pictures. Jesse was really rude when we called to resolve this and we have documentation of trying to contact them many, many times. He said, "go ahead and continue your rant, I'm not going to be talked over!" I was explaining my frustrations and I have been lied to many times by Any Hour.
Either the pipes did not need to be replaced and we just needed a new toilet or their pipe job was done wrong but either way it is not our fault so we should not have to replace tile. Also, due to the Coronavirus we are trying to limit anyone who comes into our house so it is very disturbing to have to have numerous people out to look at this when the job should have all been completed, it puts my family in danger. I am not denying them access to work on it and fix but I am not allowing them to tear things up for a second time in a month without fixing it. And I did stop answering their phone calls after I was treated so disrespectfully and told there was nothing else they could or would do without tearing up the floor. They sent an email saying that they were no longer going to do work because it is not their fault and therefore they are not honoring the warranty. I think that we were scammed!!
There was a plumbing leak in crawl space of home. Called Any Hour Electric-Plumbing-Heating-Air. The company reported they do not charge additionally for weekends or after hours. Plumber arrived on time- he assessed the leak and stated within 5 minutes of arriving the copper pipe had burst under the home, he turned off the water and also checked the rest of the home. He would need to replace the pipe and put in two new frost free basebibbs. He stated it would take him a couple of hours. He presented me with an invoice for $976.00, when asked for an itemized invoice he stated he would not know that price until the repairs were made. He also tried to sell a Comfort Assurance Plan for over $400.00 a year to do simple maintenance on the home. He stated the invoice would need to be signed before beginning the repairs. There are 4 small children in the home and needed the repairs completed and water turned back on. He requested a check before starting the repairs, which I did not give him until the repairs were completed. He took under 2 hours to complete the repairs- replaced some copper pipe and replaced two frost free basebibbs. Then he also stated he would not warranty the repairs unless he was given an additional $488.00 to install a PRV. He left the home with $976.00 never providing an itemized list of labor and parts.
After researching the parts and labor:
$100.00 per hour labor= $200.00
$35.00 per frost free basebibbs=$70.00
$30.00 for 20ft of copperpipe used possibly 3 ft
Maximin cost $500.00 over charge by 476.00
I will contact the owner on Tuesday to see if this charge is high, which I'm sure he will state it is. Never use this company they are over charging to the max.
