I hired attorney conniff in a divorce matter discovered he lied to me in order to get me to retain him. We were both married and resides in michigan but my ex moved to illinois and he filed there. Mr. Conniff to me that the legal process had to be accomplished in illinois which i found out later was a lie. He wouldn’t send me documentation until after it was due to the court and then withdrew from my case. He charged me $18,000 for a simple case and dragged it over 14 months. He did not credit me money that i had already given him and would not pass my records to my new attorney until i gave him the 12k that i didn’t owe him. His communication was awful. He was never in front of a computer when i called him. Come to find out the guy never had an office or a secretary as he claimed he did. He would disappear for weeks at a time and then blame me for miscommunication. The guys appearance is very rough. Has the look of somebody who hits the bottle way too often. Time for him to throw in his hat.
