I signed a contract for an estate sale with Betsy Dean, Another's Treasure Estate. They were to come in to my house the Monday before the sale. After they arrived, they told me that they didn't do clothes. On the phone, they said not to worry, they had racks to put the clothes on. After about an hour or two, they were sitting and brought me into the conversation. They said that I didn't have enough merchandise. They then showed me pictures of things that were there the week before, and were now missing. I took them and showed them that the things were in fact there, but had been placed in a different spot.
They proceeded to tell me that since I didn't have enough merchanise, they were going to be bringing in some of a friends, from his store. They said that their clients like to see lots of things. In their contract, it states that if a sale is considered too small, they will up their percentage which is 40%. They never suggested upping the amount. They never said that I wouldn't have enough to make over $4,000, or we would have made other arrangements.
Betsy knew we were moving out of state. Her contract reads that within 10 days, you will get an itemized list of items sold, and a check. When I saw her, she said that she was still working on the amount and would send a CHECK, which I never received nor did I receive an itemized list.
We proceeded to move and I had no mail for quite a while. When I called her, she said I didn't get a check since I didn't have a sale of over $4,000. She is not telling the truth. A great deal of furniture and items were sold for high prices.
So, here I am telling you that I allowed people to take over my house for almost a week, gave them my merchandise because I am such a nice person, and ended up with nothing. This is a true rip-off, and she needs to give me my money, and an itemized list of what she sold.
