Anneliese Schools Reviews

After years of negative reviews, from parents who had to take their kids out of Anneliese schools, due to an unsafe outdoor environment, kids being bullied, injured and even fondled by other kids, Anneliese assured us all that they had changed. Well, they hadn't. Our child and others were being harmed by other children, during recess for 2 years, before we found out about it. These are small children, pre-school and Kindergarten age. And no one at Anneliese school in Laguna Beach noticed that this was goiong on, for 2 years. Two years these children were being harmed at Anneliese.

I'm not talking about normal kids being kids. I'm talking about the kind of harm that a child remembers for life and requires therapy and lawyers. This is simply unacceptable. Anneliese school pretended to be shocked, despite 10 years of negative reviews about this problem at Anneliese schools. And now the "investigation" Anneliese said they would launch has been forgotten. The perpetrator has been allowed to stay at Anneliese school and continues to have access to young girls. And the parents who removed their kids (and with it no longer paying tuition) are being ignored. If you are not a source of revenue to Anneliese Schools in Laguna Beach, your harmed children do not matter.

Anneliese was once a great school. But when the founder, Anneliese retired, her daughter took over and clearly is only concerned about tuition coming into Anneliese schools. The Anneliese vision has lost its passion and the Anneliese school's primary concern is how things appear and not how things are. Children were harmed and Anneliese school Laguna Beach is getting away with it - again!

Google "Anneliese school Laguna Beach" and read the reviews I wish we would have read. There is a pattern here and several parents and CPS have not been able to break it. And it's the children who end up being the ones to pay for this more than anyone else. Why would anyone trust Anneliese schools with their child, knowing what is now all over the internet on the Yelp type of sites? Shame really.

From the outside the school looks like a sort of paradise for kids. All of three campuses do. And the philosophy the school says it follows looks exciting. However, we were very disappointed by the reality of this school.

Our son attended pre-K at the Aliso campus and then transferred to the Manzanita campus. There it turns out he was coming home with a lot of scratches and bruises. We spoke to the director there who tried to tell us that there was plenty of supervision outside and that our son was prone to exagerration. My husband observed the activity on the playground more than once and the adults were all talking to each other, instead of watching the kids.

We brought this up with the management and they turned the tables on us, saying our son has a learning disorder and they asked for more money in order to put him in some kind of extra program in the classroom. Our son does not have a learning disorder. He had him examined and checked out and he is above average intelligence and can concentrate and complete tasks.

When we complained again, after our son came home and said he was being bulled, the director there again turned the tables on his saying the problem was our son, even though there were no complaints about him by other kids or their parents.

This school carries out discipline for young children in the form of public shaming and scolding. Our son, who is active and curious, developed disruptive and aggressive behaviors in response to the negative disciplinary techniques carried out at Anneliese.

Moreover, the administration handled our son's behavioral issues in a very unprofessional manner. Honestly, this was a horrible experience. My stomach is still in knots when I think about it.

I'm happy to report that our son went on to succeed and thrive with absolutely no disciplinary issues at a nearby Montessori. There is plenty of outdoor supervisioin there. He has shown no sign of a learning disorder. He thrives. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your child's education. The management of Anneliese Schools is only interested in tuition and not our child's academic growth or his personal safety.
