In november 2015 i took dorky to amc for abnormal cough & to check his teeth. elyse kent said his teeth were fine and prescribed cephalexin 500mg and hydroxzine 50mg. no blood test was given & no xrays were done. i took dorky back to amc for followup and asked amc to check his teeth. dorky's left eye looked like it had a cold as 'teardrops' kept this area wet and his eye was red. an assistant male blond said dorky's are fine. also on this visit i had dorky's nails trimmed. you are not suppose to clip the vein in the nails but amc went well beyond the vein to about 1/4 from his paw. again no blood test was taken nor xrays for dorky. one year later in november 2016 i took dorky back to amc to treat a huge abscess bump on the left upper side of dorky's face about 1 inch from dorky's left eye. again no blood test given nor xrays. at all times throughout these visits nothing was done for dorky's 'beer belly'.
instead elyse kent DVM advised me to stop giving dorky dry dog food and limit his diet to only 3 small cans of wet dog food per day. it is now december 2016 & dorky is vomiting while his poop is dark liquid. by this time i developed an adverse 'gut feeling' about amc & through recommendation of Dr. Connelly DVM found Bear Valley Animal Hospital where i immediately took dorky to be checked out. 'BVAH' immediately administered a blood test stating that if said test was 'negative' an xray would be taken. the abscess was still on dorky's face as was the redness & wetness of his left eye. stomach still 'bloated' like a beer belly. dorky was still vomiting with dark liquid poop and reluctant to eat. the blood test came back positive with very bad news. 'BVAH' and i agree to hospitalize dorky in-house kennel and administer immediate life-saving IV to give dorky a chance to pull out of 'it'. dorky passed away on the 14th day of 2016 while hospitalized with IV Rx. 'BVAH' dvm said the INFECTION got into dorky's blood which took out his kidney and pancreas. this was a devastating loss for both dorky and i. dorky was a well-manered & trained SERVICE DOG with the greatest personality & character i ever witnessed & enjoyed from a dog. in my opinion AMC caused dorky his life and pain & misery & discomfort for over 1 year not to mention an early death. 'BVAH' said it was the one bad tooth that caused dorky's gross infection leading to death.
