Andrew Bena or someone claiming to be Andrew Bena contacted me September 27th to do some IT/Harware (Computers)move in Raleigh which is an hour and a half from my house. I agreed and gave him my banking information for him to draft my pay when I was finished with the assignment. The assignment took 2 days and 17 hours 11 hours one day and six hours the next. My pay rate for this job was 19 dollars an hour on a 1099 tax form.
The job was with a company called Granite and the buisness was an attorney group called Dixson Goodman Hughes LLP. I installed a bunch of monitors and workstations at an office they are relocating to in Raleigh 2501 Blue Ridge road Raleigh, NC 27607. I have worked for Granite before with no issues but not Andrew Bena or Hawks Institute. The work was very physically demanding and I went over and beyond what I supposed to do to make this job lead into more work. I was very tired and sore afterwards from rolling around under about fifty or more desks performing cable management on each workstation and making it look as nice as possible.
To make a long story short Andrew Bena said I would get paid the Friday the job was completed and that was a lie. After I confronted him over the phone again he said I would get paid the following week. He lied again and I did not get paid then he said I would get paid Friday the 13th. He lied again as I didn't get paid and I contacted him again and he is dodging my calls. I have given him plenty of chances to make this right but he will not send the money I earned for this tedious job. I would have never normally accepted a position like this but the job market in my area is slow and I am running out of income quickly.
How and why does this continue to happen with me and different IT companies. Why do this scams and con artists keep popping up out of the wood work? Please help me prevent this Andrew Bena, or whoever he is, from costing anyone else their hard earned money. This has happened to me too many times by different companies in my 17 years in the buisness and I am past being fed up over it.
