Amuse.io promises independent musicians a free music distribution service to a wide variety of music streaming and other online services.
Amuse.io has not fulfilled on their promises for distribution well over a month after the communicated release date. Submitted music is only present on a select few services.
Amuse.io has held our music releases hostage after receiving distribution rights from us; which prevents us from selecting another service who will actually deliver on the promises made. Additional impacts include wasted marketing budget and efforts due to the unfulfilled release schedules. Amuse.io has been very unresponsive to inquiries, only communicating in a canned message that states that the releases are not in their control. They have been uncommunicative about the status or any updated release schedules, over a month past the originally promised release dates, leaving us in wonder if our titles will ever be released at all.
Amuse.io has crippled our entire release and marketing plan for our band, and is no longer responding to direct requests for status or updated release dates. Since we have assigned rights to Amuse.io for distribution, we are unable to release the submitted music through other possible distribution channels.
Note: It would seem that the business model of Amuse.io is to have independent artists submit music to them so they can talent source for their own record label, while not fulfilling promises made to independent artists who are not selected for Amuse.io record contracts. Furthermore, their business model negatively impacts independent musicians by preventing their music from being released across all platforms, by binding them in Amuse.io licensing agreements. They are not shy about filing copyright claims from other services attempting to distribute the content.
