Amor.com Reviews

  • Apr 20, 2016

I estimate that on February 15, 2016 I joined and became a member of the Amor.com dating site. Soon after, I began to receive messages in my inbox on site. Other than the "Welcome" email from the company, the rest of the emails were blurred out. As the site stated, the emails from other members could only be read with a paid membership. I waited for about a week, since I was engaged with another dating site(not related to this company). In the meanwhile, I continued to get these emails I could not read.

On Feb. 22, 2016, I decided to pay for a whole year's membership for $79.99. After which, I could see the emails clearly. All of the email messages were one-liner greetings, i.e., "Hi," "Hello," "Hi, how are you doing?" "Hi, how's it going?" "Hola," and "Hola, Como estas?"

Naturally, I responded to most of them, even those persons I was not particularly interested in. None of them, -not one person- responded back. I thought that was very strange. How is it that you can send me a greeting or express interest and not at least follow up? And not one of the emails asked about my profile, or what I was looking for.

I began to put two and two together and had that sinking feeling that I have been scammed. I did a search with the words "scam" and this company and found that others have similar complaints.

I contacted the company about their fraudulent activity and requested a refund. The representative stated, that wasn't possible and used the excuse that they have no control over the "members" responding or not.

I filed a report with the BBB, but the company never responded, so the case was closed.

Of course, this is a scam company set up to steal your money. Be forewarned!!
