I was hired by this company for the position of Counselor Supervisor in a state prison in California. Three individuals were responsible for the actions in question at this facility and they are Lillian Marquez. Shelby Martindale and Pat Settles. These individuals are the Regional Director, Program Director, and Assistant Director respectively were engaged in creating a very hostile, aggressive, and intimidating environment toward employees. Pat Settles is not even qualified to be in that position but has it because of his friendship with company executives. He harassed and verbally abused employees and inmates who were program participants. Pat Settles in my view, displayed a very subtle racist approach to his position, and anyone who disagreed with him became the target of write-ups by Lillian Marquez. Pat Settles was the cause of a complaint with the California Labor Commission for which they ( Amity Foundation) had to settle and admit that they had defrauded employees by manipulating the clock entries so as not to pay overtime to the employees. The number of hours they did not pay for overtime is in the thousands by now. A complaint has been filed with the California Department of Corrections and with the California Labor Commission. Many former employees are communicating and looking at filing legal action against this fraudulent company.
