Amerigas is the worst company I've ever dealt with when it comes to utilities. While every call with their godforsaken call center assures me I'm a "valued customer," I haven't had propane since May 12. Every time someone has come to repair or refill, it takes 3-4 days, and I still don't have working gas. When our hot water and gas stove stopped working, I paid for expedited service for them to refill the tank, which I didn't get. When I finally got them to show up, on May 16, I was told to schedule a repair. It was scheduled for May 22. They didn't show up. They "fixed" the tank on May 24, but couldn't refill it until today, May 27. Today, the deliveryman couldn't get the gas to work, despite trying for an hour. He put in a service request and I called. Soonest they can come is June 1. Every time I call they "escalate" my request and "expedite" what they can, and they still come at the very last moment. My gas delivery could have come 3 days ago if it had actually been expedited, and this problem would have been found sooner, but nope, that's not the way they operate. I didn't even know a temporary tank was a possibility until I started calling around for new service, and another company suggested it. I asked Amerigas customer service if they could bring one, and from what I can tell, even if they could, they still wouldn't be able to do it before my next appointment. Why? No idea. I can't wait to switch companies. I won't be happy until there's either a class action lawsuit or they go out of business. Absolutely the worst company I've ever worked with.
Im a disabled senior citizen, so I get fuel assistance from Lutheran Social Services. I had a $600 credeit from them and ordered that much gas. They arrived when I wasn't home, so they filled the tank and sent me a bill for the balance. I told them I couldn't afford to pay it. They continue sending bills and charge $36 each month for late charges. They charged me $3 per gallon for it. I researched other companies, and found they were only charging $1.29 to $1.69 per gallon. I'm going to another dealer once my tank is empty again, but something must be done about swindling seniors and Lutheran Social Services !!!
I have a 325 gallon propane tank burried on my property. It was here when I purchased the home. Which apparently locked me into a lease that I never signed. If i do not use a certain ammount of gas every year then I get charged with a tank rental fee, which increases every year. The tank was just filled with 120 gallons of propane that cost me $575 which to me is outrageous. Then I recieve a second bill for $175 for a tank rental. But if I used more fuel to heat my home I would not be charged the rental fee. So I am being charged rent on something that this company has not done anything to in 27 years. The rent keeps going up and they can charge what ever they want to make money. I told them to come take the tank because I was not paying the fee. I was informed that I would first have to empty the tank then I was told that there would be an excavation fee for the removal of the tank. So no matter what I do, I owe this company money. I told the lady on the phone that I am sure I am not the first person to call with these complaints that she has probably had thousands of calls like this one and her response was "Yes sir I have". I asked how does it feel to work for a large corporation that is just screwing people and if she had a sole "Well that is just how business is done". I have been President of my homeowners association for the last 14 years. Our community is only about 40% developed, any new construction that happens here I will highly recommend that people do not use Amerigas, I will make it my duty to send out in every membership email to inform people of the pathetic business practices at AmeriGas.
I tried for 3-5 months to discuss incorrect/overcharging with cusomer sevice with no success. I finally had to submit a dollar amount in line with my records and actual delivery record . I received multiple calls after I ended our relationship even one that said the amount paid was sufficient. I changed companies and then began receiving collection notices from A.R.M. solutions inc.
Signed a contract with amerigas over a month and a half ago for tank installation and fills. They came to the house and picked a spot for the tank and asked me to dig a trench to the house which I did. Tank was to be installed in a week. Nothing happened and I called to find out what was up. They wanted to send someone to check the bridge Again. Said they did not want to use bridge (even though we have had much heavier trucks over it, concrete trucks well driving this etc.)to deliver gas but could use it to install tank. Manager said they could use lower drive to deliver gas. Set another date to deliver tank. This morning (when the tank was to be delivered) one of the employees arrived and said they would not service my house. After saying they would do it 3 times. They have set me back months and I made my whole house propane after they told me at first no problem with service. I just find it incredible how they waffle back and forth. Have already contacted an attorney to see if I have some legal standing.
Our tank was filled on 12/9/2017 and then went to 0% on 1/27/2017-They tried to tell me that this can be normal?? After the nice weather and knowing how conservative I am with our heat and other appliances, I knew better, plus calling their emergency service line they told me they do not do emergencies after 7pm???? We were on 0 and they did not care, period. I had to ask the twice to come and safety check the tank!! What is wrong with these people?? I am switching in March as soo as our contract is up!
I recently received an invoice from AmeriGas for a Tank Rental Fee of $99 plus tax. I called the local company to inqure why I received this invoice. They told me since I did not order or receive any Propane for the 2016 year that I will be charged this fee. I asked if there was any way to reduce or discard the fee and the answer was NO, they could not do anything about the charge. I am to pay this fee. I still have Propane in my tank, so I did not order any last year. I was also told I will have to pay approximately $60 for them to pick up the tank and to make sure it is empty or I will be charged another fee for them to empty the tank. I am angry that they are charging me this fee. I can not afford this fee.
When i moved from my home in florida the propane co charged me 39.99 to turn off my tank. the tank was almost full and i as not paid for that propane. they then sold it to the next owner of my tank.
