I ordered a camera bundle package, and I admit I did so hastily without researching any reviews. The camera is hard to find as it is an older model. After I placed the order, I did a Google search for complaints and reputation, I found nothing good.
My experience is that I recieved email confirmation of my order with a number and that I would recieve a confirmation of payment and shipping within two to three hours. After 24 hours of no confirmation of such, I received a phone call, and the callers number was disguised as 1-000-000-0000. I listened to the voicemail and called the number he gave me with the extension. At first he was very polite stating that he needed to verify the shipping address, which we did. He then asked who the camera was purchased for. I let him know that was irrelevant. He then told me that I didn't have to be so rude and he was just asking to see if the future camera owner would need a battery. I explained that I bought it as a bundle and should be included and that I now wished to cancel this order as I had read online reviews about the company and that this was a usual method of business for them. He hung up on me. I called him back and asked him why he hung up on me, and he told me that I was the rudest person he has spoken to and that he was sure I had been told that before. I informed him that I would be reporting this to my credit card company as fraud. He hung up on me again. Thank goodness, I have not been charged, but the credit card company has an alert on my account for such a thing.
I've placed an online order for a Nikon PowerShot G7 X from American Camera Company. After receiving a deceiving email from them asking to call them back and confirm my order, the person answering the phone began telling me that I needed to buy the batteries for the camera and continue to ask me as which type of battery I needed to buy. When I told this guy to simply send the camera in the box as it would normally come, he then changed technque and began saying that the model I've purchased was not intended to be used in the United States and that if I wanted the model for use in the US, well it will cost me an additional $100. After I did not give him to his scamming techniques, this guy became extremely rude and hanged up the phone. I am not sure if this guy is only a bad apple in the bunch or if this company is just outhere scamming people. I have contacted my credit card company alerting them of this company and to categorize any charges in my card as fraudulent.
