In 2016 I called American standard online to get help with finding a foreclosed home. I never got positive results. Company's number is no longer working

I was mislead into thinking I was renting to own , a bank foreclosed home. I was supposedly paying for a list of foreclosed homes , a 90 day refund was guaranteed. The services were bogus, after 90 day period , I then needed to request a refund in writing . I did as required also paying for my request to be sent certified only to be informed I needed 5 denial letters from home owners . All in all costing me 199.00$ plus 3.79$ certified letter and my future deposit for my real home.

I paid $199 for these people to send me listings for apartments for rent in the town I was moving to. They sent me a few listings through email but they were always incomplete with no address or contacting information. When I was finally Fed Up I called back and demanded a refund but the woman told me I had to wait 90 days and then hung up on me. Everytime I called back after that for a refund they would always hang up on me. Now their number is saying they have been disconnected due to unforeseen circumstances. What a joke. Is there any kind of class action lawsuit againts these people? Ive done some research online after the fact and apparently this is not the first time this woman who owns the company has done this. Is there anyone out there who knows how to deal with this?

This company adverstises homes/apartments for rent on Craigslist. When you call the number about one of the properties, you are told that you have to sign up for their program to get the owner's contact information. Once you pay the $199 sign up fee, you are directed to their website for listings in your particular area and told that the property you're interested in is in there somewhere. They rushed me through the process and did not clearly explain what the service was providing, or how to receive a refund if I was unhappy with the service.

I went through and found other properties that I had to request info about and was told they were no longer available. When I emailed customer service that I wanted a refund, I was told their policy was to make the customer wait 90 days before being allowed to make that request.

After my 90 days had ended, I again emailed customer service requesting a refund. They told me to go on their website's Terms of Service and follow the steps. I called customer service requesting a refund, and they told me that I am eligible for one since my 90 days had passed, and to go on the website and follow the steps in their terms of service. While I was on the phone with customer service, I went on to the website, and when I got to the "Refund" area and said "Oh wait a minute!", the customer service agent hung up on me.

I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor, who stated that even though I did not use their service and had almost immediately requested a refund, I still needed to contact and be denied by 5 homeowners to qualify for a refund of my money.

This company is a scam.

I spoke with a lady named Denise Lewis her direct number is 805 741 6267 their main number is 313 937 6075. After speaking with her she try to give a good sales pitch but i wasnt bying it. She claims if you pay them $199 you get access to certin properties before the public an you can get them cheap you can get your money back after 30 days but there is so much more to this they dont tell you. You cant get your money back unless you have 5 denial letters from the home owner. Whitch is almost impossible to get plush the take 10% out of it fir processing. I contacted the BBB an she told me dont pay anything until they can give me their comapny name address zip an phone number an then to call them back.

So I called american standard to get their business name an address an mind you at this time i did not know their company name. Thats when things got ugly. I was hung up on twice a man gave me the name but when i asked for the addresss to for the bbb he got angry said he had other callers waiting then hung up.

Another lady got up set then hung up. Finally the next woman i spoke to i didnt give her a chance to say anything i say i need you exact address were you are located thats it. She then with a attitude had me waite amlost 10min to give me the address like i was going to say forget it an hang up. All of this was red flags going off. So now that i have this information I called the bbb back but they we out then i searched their name an address an came across this site. People beware. Thank you to all who report scam.

This company took my money $199. Knowing that :

1. A refund would never be issued due to the requirements being unable to be met

2. the property listings are old and no longer valid

3. the list of properties given holds a ridiculous amount of duplicate addresses - bedrooms or dollar figures are different- this is done to make it appeasr as if they have many listings when in reality they have few.

4. Just incase someone makes it through the flaming hoops to get a refund, theres a 10% processing fee- which of course is never mentioned at sign-up

I signed up 6/15/2014 - I have received nothing and out $199 - lesson learned

I KNOW there are many others who did this just like me. Can we please get together and shut this company down? They are nothing more than theives

I called the phone number and of course the operator on the other line was more than willing to accept my money. Once logged in, all you could view was information regarding these "foreclosed" homes. There were absolutely NO pictures. They actually wanted you to set up an appointment with a realtor to view these homes. My husband and I needed a rental home pretty quickly which was stated to the operator. They falsly stated "no problem"...there are "tons" of pictures for you to view. This wasn't the case. I decided then that I wanted my money back. Then that is where it became a true headache. I was told over the phone to read over their "terms of cancellation" which I did. I sent a certified letter which was delivered and signed for. Still to this day I have not had my money refunded to me and the company REFUSES to return my phone calls. This is nothing but a scam and these people should be sued!!
