ACS American Consumer Shows claims we have a contract we them to do their shows, yet this "contract" was signed when their representative canvassed show booths at a trade show around 10 years ago and got a signature from someone who was not authorized to sign for anything. When we decided not to do their show this spring (2019), they placed us in collections and were the most unprofessional, nasty individuals we have ever encountered.
They have a collections person constantly calling our office, refusing to stop, even though they were asked to do so. We do not wish to work with this company any more because of how they operate. In today's world, they would be wise to stop harrassing potential vendors with threats if they do not participate in their shows. I've never encountered anything like it. Terrible experience. I've even called them 4 times before posting this to let them know if they didn't stop the harrassment, I would post it. The last time, they hung up on me. Beware!
ACS Home Show sounded great! I reached out for more information on getting a booth, the sales man was very pushy/ but convincing that I would book my whole summer with leads. Just under 3 months in operating my company I was convinced that I could be successful by getting my business up and running in no time. After about 1 month of signing the contract I received a federal court date for my company... I was being served by my previous employer for a non compete clause, which mean that I can not compete with them for a number of years, which I was unaware of. I called them explaining the situation even emailed them the restraining order... told them that the judge was very clear that I can not conduct this busines anymore. This was months before the show. They didn't care! Even continued to send invoices and email asking to pay.... trust me when I say that if I had done this show I would of been in handcuffs because my previous employer has been threatening me to shut down my business even sent police to my home... by federal order I couldn't be part of this show! But I was contacted by there lawyer who was very nasty and threatening me... I explained the situation that my company is no longer running and I cancelled the contracts months ago.. he have been harassing me ever since... he comes across very disrespectful and threatened to make me homeless... if it's the last thing he ever does... The funny thing was I showed up to the show... I walked passed the booth that I was suppose to get and spoke to the current person that had the booth...he was so happy that I cancelled and seemed very excited of the opportunity .. there was no money lost on there end... yet still they are still threatening me and want to take me to court... this seems very petty for a big company of there stature! I have no money have no rights to a busines yet still they are still threatening my life. I really wish I would of attended the show with all my heart! I had high hopes for this company, when I signed the contract I had all intentions to pay them. I gave them way more than enough time verbally to let them know I won't be attending due to the situation but they seem to be very petty! Do not sign any contract with them... seems like they are heartless....wish I had done my research on this company before signing up. Don't make the same mistake I did , God forbid something happens to you or your company out your control.. They might say if I had payed they would have given me a credit for the next 3 years... LOL!! The case can be extended to much passed 3 years maybe even forever! Who knows! I can't pay thousands of dollars for no reason.... wish is what they want! Anyways my suggestion to them is to explain this to there clients! This was never explained to me at all!
American Consumer Shows Inc Reviews
ACS caused me to loose $5000. Lori Sullivan, Sr. Account Exec. will say anything
to steal your money !!!! After 3 conversatios with her and emails. She claimed that
the attendance at the Pasadens Home, March 5,6 will be, " ABOUT 8000 ".
The attendance was baout 800/ day at best ! I was going to do the Maricopa
County Home SHow in Phx ,same dates, which draws over 30,000. In Jan I made good money
at this show in the fairgrounds. I emailed her on March 1st and asked for a refund,
because the Bustamonte Atique Show expected to draw 1000-2000 per day in exhibit hall A.
ACS Home Show is in hall B and usually draws a smaller crowd. She then threatened collections. I got RIPPED OFF bY her and this BS company !
