I just canceled my policy because they wouldn't cover a visit to my Dermatologist (to remove a wart). Doctor sent the prescription for a topical ointment to the pharmacy in the hopes that the insurance will cover it. THEY DIDN'T!! Definitely not what they advertise.
I bought this insurance as a stop gap until I turned 65, which was a year later after retiring. The agent was up front and told me the pros and cons. I knew what I was buying. I will tell you that the drug coverage is really good, and I pay little to nothing for my meds, which I take 6 of. For the ER visit when I cut my thumb badly they paid 125.00 of a 925.00 bill. But when I went to pay the bill, they hospital said that from working with ABC, the bill was reduced to 325.00 after the 125.00 was paid by the insurance. Yes, this insurance in not perfect, and for some it may not work. But, it works for me and thank God in July I get Medicare. You really need to educate yourself on what you are buying, but for those with pre-existing conditions like me, where you cant get insured anymore, it did it's job. Educate yourself on what you are getting. Read the information closely. Then you wont be surprised when a big bill is sent to you.
Please do not waste your time and money with this company. They should be looked at closely for false and deceptive practices. Maybe the State Attorney might be interested.
Do not trust this insurance company American Business Coalition or Chris Cantrell the agent who sold me this policy. Chris Cantrell pretended he was my "advisor" on healthcare . gov when I went looking for an insurance to buy. I went with this policy thinking I could trust it since it was a reputable site I was on at the time. Wnen it came time to use this insurance due to a "catastropic" event, they said I was not "in-network" with the hospital. This is not the way Chris Cantrell explained this insurance to me, they were not to cover my doctors visits etc, but were to cover hospital stays. Needless to say I am now stuck with a 15 thousand dollar bill for a one night stay in the hospital and the testing that went along with my reason for the stay. I cannot be billed now as a "cash" customer because I had insurance. But only 1700 dollars out of the 17 thousand dollar bill was paid by this insurance. What a rip-off this was. Do not let anyone tell you they are assigned to be your advisor on healthcare . gov!
Unbelievable scam.. bought health insurance from Reid Demyan who assured me the detailed coverage would be there... now after paying premiums for 15 months and trying to check coverage fir first actual use.. am told no you don’t gave that coverage and nobody ever heard of the supposed insurance company.. disgusted with this scam
My agent was Donnie Blair he walked me through several different plans we discussed, co-pays, doctor visits etc. So when I got my packet it was totally opposite of what was discussed. It was a discount program. They took out $339 for the initial draft and it was listed as membership dues. I'm so pissed.
