Earlier this year I received a fax at work stating TripAdvisor was offering promos to all-inclusive resorts for HR Depts...we get them all the time and I wanted to take a vacation finally so decided to call the 800 number...the exact # is 844-859-2101 I got some shifty guy on the phone which I should have known it was a scam right there. They put you on hold and say there's only like 2 left and you need to secure it immediately w/ a credit card. I figured it was like a hotel reservation, you can hold w/ a card but they wouldn't charge me until a confirmation email was sent and I agreed to it. They transfer you to a "third party" verification person who takes all your credit info. They then emailed me the agreement and after reading it and Googling this crap I realized it was BOGUS AF so I NEVER SIGNED THE DOCUMENT (DocuSign) and immediately called them. They answer and say "this isn't the company, this is only the verificaiton dept we cannot help you" and hung up. So I immediately contacted my CC company and disputed it. Long story short, Citibank reached out to them and they had the AUDACITY to rebuttal and gave a copy of the DocuSign email AND THEY FORGED MY ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE! After submission of multiple documents and going back and forth, Citibank honored the chargeback and gave me my money. WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL AROUND AND NOT BEING INVESTIGATED BY AUTHORITIES? Do not give them your information or credit info! Scam Scam Scam!
I believe this company is now operating as "vacation rx travel" as I had the same experience only "Trivago" was used instead of TripAdvisor and the # to call for "booking and reservations" was 1-844-611-5860 (it just rang with no answer when I called the day after I made the "18-months open date, no black out dates, booking). I originally spoke with "Mark Hunter, ext 1033, Trivago ID# TA1078." I emailed Trivago to inquire about the employee ID# but I'm doubtful it is legit. I had asked if the charge would appear on my cc statement as Trivago and he told me, "yes." The charge showed up as OPER MAGO PUERTO VALLARMX. I did NOT sign the DocuSign document that arrived by email from Tropical Vacations via DocuSign ([email protected]) so I thought I was "safe" while I investigated. I called the "vrx service center" # I was provided by "Mark": 888-641-6933, to inquire about a website I could look at. The first response was smartertravelgetaways.com which doesn't exist. I called back and was told smartravelgetaways.com. When I googled that, it came up with a WEBROOT warning as a suspicious site. Additional Google searches show VRX Travel LLC does exist, since 12/2016, with an address that shows a residence, in a residential area, according to GoogleMaps. I haven't been able to locate a phone # for VRX Travel LLC. CitiCard Customer Service told me I have to contact the merchant to request the refund since my travel dates haven't "happened" yet. That call will have to wait until tomorrow as the "vrx service center" hours are M-F 10am to 7pm EST. Thanks to the above review, I'm trusting CitiCard will eventually credit my account.
A memo came into the fax machine at work offering an all inclusive resort package for 5 days and 4 nights for a low fee. Both of my sons were getting married and it was a good gift for them. I purchased the packages and a few months later I was in the hospital with stage 4 breast cancer that traveled to my lungs and our journey in life changed. When I became more stable we wanted to book their gift since you had 18 months to use. I was unable to contact anyone as the phone numbers were no longer any good and there was no responce to any emails. I have tried calling Travelocity, which was noted on their flyer, and after alot of research I found this web site to find out I was scammed.
If there is anything to be done please let me know so I can try to regain the funds I have lost so that I can gift my children something else.
I called this company and paid about $500 last year. Now Im calling them because to reserve since I was supposed to have gotten 18 months, and neither of the numbers are working numbers. I tried 1844 859 2105 and 1844 859 2101.
These people are scammers. Is there anything that can be done?
Don't get ripped off like I did! I was promised a 5/4 vacation with flights included but I had to respond quickly or I would lose the deal because I was the 198th caller. Spent $2116 dollar on a vacation for 4 and when I called VRX Travel today, a woman named Madison, told me that America Vacations, "took the money and ran" and they feel so bad, they want to help because they "purchased my acct". However, no airfare is included and I would have to pay for the vacation again, but it wouldn't cost more that $300. She said that VRX Travel doesn't have the money I paid, but they will try to make it right...by making me pay MORE money? I don't think so!
I tried to call my credit card company and explain that this transaction was fraud, but they are saying because I authorized it (last year...America Vacations gives you up to 18 months to use the vacation) they can't refund the purchase.
Does anyone know if there is a class action lawsuit pending for America Vacations? If not, how would I go about getting my money back from the company that "purchased my account"?
I paid $398 for travel and air. It was a special for two. 5 days and 4 nights all inclusive. In the beginning when I called 844 859 2101, they would give me the run around and tell me to call back when I'm ready to travel. Now the number is not in service and I'm not able to get in contact with anyone.
I received a fax at work directed to HR Dept from tripadvisor. I contacted the phone number and paid the deposit of $480.00 to reserve the price of the trip. I had 18 months to use this. When I called back, the number was disconnected, the e-mail was returned.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against tripadvisor and was told America Vacations was using their name to book trips but was not affiliated so they would not do anything.
I was sold a 5day 4 night all inclusive vacation to Mexico that I had eighteen months to use. I received a call on February 1, 2017 stating that we need to make reservations, but at that time I had no idea or information on the the resorts to choose from so Julio which the person I spoke with instructed me to go to the website gotravel.mexico.com to look at the places. After that I have been trying to reach them at all numbers given to me including the direct number given by Julio at 866 367-2413X33306. None of the number can you reach anyone. I tried today April 17, 2017 still no answer I was charged $398.00 voucher #6832117 Phone number on voucher 844 859-2101
Using their flier I called them and being insured they working on behalf of Travelocity's and other big name travel companies they selling a promotion -deal 5/4 all inclusive vacation and if I pay them I would reserve this promotion for 18 months and any time I could use it but how many time I try to book it they always promise tomorrow so and so would be able to complete my booking Nevertheless to say Being so trusty and care about my kids I was scammed by ;America vacations they scammed money After trying a year with them !!
I went to book my vacation that I have already paid for and the customer service number is no longer in service, so I emailed Justice mcentire and never got a response.
I work for the Government. I was offered a vacation package. All inclusive 3 days and 4 nights at a 4-5 star resort. With a bonus 4 days 3 nights, at either Orlando or Las Vegas, with either DisneyWorld tickets or a car rental. I have 18 months to use. I called this number: 888-684-1302 and paid $398.00, which was for two, $149 per person. My confirmation number was CT 1494428. I was told I had 18 months to make my reservation and would lock in 60% off my airfare. They said I couldn't book more than 6 months ahead and 30-45 days before. So I called back when I was ready to make my reservation. They gave me another number to call: 844-859-2101. I called and spoke with Justice. Then months long stress ensued. He would tell me something and that he would call me back. He didn't and I spent many hours trying to reach him and when he did answer he was very vague. Finally he said he had to send me an email, that I had to sign and scan back to him. I did this. Then I waited again. When I finally reached him, he said my sister needed to do the same thing. She did. More time ensued with many frustrating unanswered calls. Finally I get the Orlando and Bahamas vacation set up. I gave him the dates for my Orlando vacation and my Bahamas vacation. When I call to confirm at Calypso Cay,Kissimmee, Florida, no rental car was approved. Then I get a recording that the number is disconnected. The resort gives me contact information and I call. I spent weeks trying to reach them and the resort did as well. The would hang up on me and the resort. Now they say someone took over for the original company. America Vacations 888-641-6933 and I speak with Alema Juarez. I ask about the rental car ad, he gets very irate with me and says they won't give me the car, but will give me the Disneyworld tickets. I told him I had gotten the package partly because of the rental car. He yelled at me and said he can't give it to me. So a few minutes later the resort, who had spent a lot of time as well trying to get me the rental car approval, calls me. They said the new company called them and said that I was fine with the Dinseyworld tickets. I said I was not and I had told Alema that. The resort then contacted him again. He calls me and yells at me, that the resort would be canceling my reservation. He said I got his company in trouble. I tried to explain that I had paid for a package that included a car rental. He tells me to call my credit card company to get the money back for the car rental. I also told him I had called the Bahamas resort and my reservations were not there. He yells at me to call the credit card company and get my money back. Then he said don't ever call me again and hung up on me. I have never in my life been treated so badly or spoken to in this manner. There is so much more to this that I can't remember at the moment. I got this package from my Government job. How can they scam me like this?
I bought this package last year with open date to schedule my trip. I've tried to email the agency, called the agency, visited the website but now I can't get in touch with nobody. This americavacationactivations.com doesn't even exist.
I received a fax and it was for a vacation package for 5 days and 4 nights for a hotel stay in Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Puerto Vallarta, etc. I contact the company and the representative Michael says the deal is limited and that if I don't book it now that I won't be able to get the deal.So I was transfered to a woman who said I was being recorded and I still wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to go so I talked to Michael again and agreed. He took my information and debit card number. He then told me I was going to get an email confirmation and I never did. I called back to ask for a confirmation and they said "f**k you" and hung up on me. Now they have $550 of my money and they hang up everytime I call.
