America's Locksmith Services Reviews
I personally feel as tho I was taken advantage of by two men in the middle of the night. I had just gotten home from my night shift, clearly dressed as a waitress. I was quoted around $60 for someone to come out ($19) and unlock the basic door handle ($35). After waiting around 30 minutes, two men showed up in a van and continually spoke in a different language around me before speaking to me. He then told me that the total cost would be $270!!! It took the two men all of 4 seconds to open the door (because of how basic the lock was) and still charged me the 270, again, after speaking in another language to eachother. I felt like I was taken advantage of. I have been trying to call for an explanation to justify the price but the manager on duty is, miraculously, always out of the office when I call. It's a scam and rip off. Consumer beware.
I called America's Locksmith thinking I was calling a local locksmith. The locksmith called me back and immediately asked did the organization give me a quote. i told him No...my first mistake. I ask him where he was coming in from and was told "Im 20-25 minutes away...I ask again...same response...my second mistake. He arrives 45 minutes late...takes two minutes to use an air device to pop open my screen door and states "I drove all the way from Helotes so I'm going to have to charge you $145!!!!! What!!!! I told him had he told me he was coming from such a long distance (this is not local to my community) I would have called someone else. I asked for a receipt...never got it. Called manager...I was ignored!!! Repeatedly. Do not use this company!
The technician quoted me a price of $300 to rekey the front and back door and to install a keypad. He did the rekey but needed to come back to install the keypad. He wanted half the money for the services and I gave him that. He never came back out to install keypad. Repeated calls to the owner who said he would send him back out if I paid twice the price quoted and then he threatened me.
As prior report say i truly agree that this company is a scam they tell my insurance company one price and when they get to the job site its double. On their price list its actually cheaper to get a key made by them im sure that majority of their revenue is threw insurance claims so if my insurance only covers up to a certain amount im sure they are well aware of that being that is not their first rodeo dealing with insurance company so what happen i had to end up paying an additional 60.00 dollars based on the fact the at 1am the services are needed especially when they show up late. and last, but not least i wouldnt want an employee working for my business if he is trying to profit on the side. long story short it wouldve been cheaper to break the window and then purchase.
