America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses Reviews
I needed glasses. I went to this company. They are money hungry. I got 1 pair of glasses and paid around $350. I can't read small print. I wanted transition glasses. I have still seen black spots. I can read my books and see my phone better without them.
daughter went into the American Fork, Utah America's Best on Friday (4/1/2016). We went through the exam and she picked out her glasses. When we sat down my insurance company was closed so they couldn't verify my insurance so I was asked to pay the total up front ($273.81), ok no problem. They told me I had to come in Monday (4/4/2016) to sign the refund on Monday after they processed it, ok. Called Monday to verify they had the correct insurance information, asked them to submit the claim to my insurance, and process whatever refund I was due. I also asked that my daughters glasses be sent off because I know its a 7-10 day waiting period. I walk in there today, wait almost 30 minutes, for them to START the insurance claim and process the refund. Come to find out, my insurance doesn't cover much, but what really irritates me is they perform the eye exam. which apparently the FDT exam is completely optional?? No, they didn't' ask me, they just did it and then charged me for it. I thought picking out the two pairs of glasses per their add would result in a free eye exam?? Nope, apparently that only applies to people without insurance. Did they tell me that? No. The grand total before my insurance was $302.45, the grand total after they charged my insurance $440.90. I have 3 other people in my home that wear glasses. They WILL NOT be going to America's Best, because America's Best is actually America's Worst!!
The Americas Worst over in Olympia Washington Never informed me that if I didnt do the follow up exam within 6 months I would have to repay for a whole new exam. I was called out of state within the month i got my exam i tried to schedule an exam at 7 months of the original exam they than told me that it was out of their control....... and wanted me to pay for a full exam once again. I told them that I never was told of the 6 mo. policy nor did I sign any paper work that stated it. The manager said that there is no signature required and that there was nothing he could do. I have been wearing contacts for 40 years and told the person fitting them at the appt that they fit great and wanted to buy my contacyts at that point to wich i was told i couldnt that is FRAUD.
Went in to get my eyes exams & purchase two pair of glasses for the advertisement of $69 for 2 pair of glasses & free exam. They ended up forcing me to purchase two different pair of glasses with different & separate prescriptions. One pair to read & another separate pair to drive which is a total waste because going to TSO for years, I only need one prescription for one glasses. They don't inform you that your prescription will increase the prices. So they charge you extra money per prescription (TIMES 2). In the end they charged me approximately $300+. Then I get there to pickup my glasses & the prescription was incorrect on both glasses & they wanted to charge me extra to correct the prescription of both glasses, separately. I complained about the fraudulent advertisement & practice & she claim to give me a discount, but actually she removed the warranty price. HORRIBLE & MISLEADING PRACTICE
