I was gone for six weeks vacation from 09/25/2019 to 11/14/2019 my electric bill is $215.01 for the date from 09/27/2019 to 10/29/2019. Everything in my apartment wasn't off while I'm gone! Called the customer service they told me that's because the high usage of electric!
A friend talked me into joining Ambit energy 14 years ago. we got pretty good service up until 4 years ago when our bill keep going up and up. we are paying double what we were paying 4 years ago. when my wife called to inquire why this increase, it took literally 3 days to reach a human being. That person talked her into switching from the original plan to a new plan that would be "cheaper" than what we were paying per kilowatt hour. While it might have been cheaper per kilowatt, we started paying a surcharge to TXU, the first bill was about $100 surcharge. Then we started receiving notices to disconnect our electricity. We had been paying with a check in the envelope that was included with the bill. apparently, it was not being recieved by the company, so we were forced to pay by wire transfer, with fees. we were told not to "stop payment" on the checks because when Ambit recieved them and tried to cash them and they "bounced" we would be charged a fee for nonsufficient funds! Then we had to pay a fee to recall the disconnection. This war repeated three times before I could not take it any longer and broke the contract, incurring a $199 fee!
In April, Ambit Energy charged me $200 for electricity. Then they charged an additional $320.58 as an additional charge. I had trouble getting through on the phone as they say I wasn't a customer even though I was and had been using their services since 2013. My wife was able to get through and they refused to give a reason for that extra $320.58 and they would not refund it since I had automatic billing. I am very angry. My wife signed up with them without my knowledge because one of her friends was a consultant back in 2013. This company is a scam as they don't provide electricity. Never use this company. It's nothing more than a MLM scam that robs customers blind.
So I filled out the paper work and paid a deposit in July for a free 2 night 3 day hotel stay in New Orleans. I picked 3 different dates Nov 11, 18, and 19th. It is now Oct 4 and I still had not heard anything so I called in and spoke to a CSR she stated they had emailed me letting me know there were no hotels available for my requested dates. I first thought this was bull s*** considering I booked this 3 months ago. So you are telling me in 3 months you could not find a hotel for any of the dates I requsted? Yeah, right. Then she read my email to me and it was WRONG. She then told me I would have to request more dates once again 45 days in advance. I was so livid I asked her so what it is going to take me probably 6 months to book a little vacation? I took off work for this crap, got a baby sitter, etc etc. She told me that yes it can take up to 2 or 3 different requests for me to actually be put in. I feel like they purposley make it hard to get in so people would give up. Not to mention I should get a free hotel for a few nights at the very minimum considering my bill alone each month is d**n near $400. Ambit is a scam and once my contract is up I am DONE. I will warn everyone about this company.
