Alternative Online Deisgn, LLC. Reviews
Had a phone call from a person representing Alternative Online Design offering to provide websites that I could promote to make a 15% commission. As I was interested in doing something similar already I thought that I would give it a try as the price was only $395. I accepted the offer and was told to expect a call the next day to go over the details.
The next day I received a call explaining that they needed more money to promote the website and started telling me how much money I could make if I gave them another $15,000 or so. I of course declined but then decided what the heck and took the $2500 package. I should have told the young lady where to go and hung up.
Well at the end of the first two week cycle I got a check for a little over $17. Well this made me feel better and when I got a call a few weeks later by which time I had made a purchase or two along with a couple of more purchases others had made and received another commission check.
I was receptive to spending more ($1800) to improve traffic to websites.
I was able to track traffic to website using a counter on each website. The only problem was that they were diverting most of my traffic that first went thru their servers before proceeding to somewhere else. When I ask about I was given a different story every time. One time they were holding my traffic for the big upcoming sales. Second time they said that my campaign was set up by the month and I had exceeded the limit for that month. Third time it was the traffic provider holding up the traffic. Mighty funny when my traffic campaign ended I started getting a lot more traffic thru their servers and from traffic provider when before I wasn't hardly any from their servers and none from the traffic provider.
About this time the websites went offline without anyone letting me know beforehand. For almost three weeks due to them updating the website. When they finally did come back up there was only one website and the other two were redirects to the main website. Of course that knocked out all the work that I had done the past 6 months and I had to start over.
Shortly after the website was back up and working properly I got another call telling me I needed to have them do back-links or else the search engines would not be able to find my website and it would go dark. After about an hour not wanting to spend any more money I relented and agree to put in another $1500 (down from $4000) for the back links.
Well just the other day I got another call telling me I had to do advance marking for another $3500. Of course I declined again and he came down to $2000 which I still refuse. I was informed that if I didn't pay the money they would shut down the website. To which I responded if he did I would sue. They didn't get any more money and the sites went down for a couple of days but came back up. I no longer have an Amazon Associates account which means no more commissions.
The day before I had the last phone call there had been four purchases made on the website with two of them already sent and two pending. Also I had made three purchases and know of a couple of others that were made thru the website. So far no commissions and don’t expect to see any. That in itself is proof of the scam they are running and how they are able to pay 15% commissions.
I have about figure that they are running a Ponzi Scheme and not really paying a 15% commission. I know what some of the affiliates are paying and it runs from 3% to 8% which is nowhere near the 15% commissions they claim to be paying
I will be making a complaint to the BBB and posting on other sites. Maybe I can prevent someone else from falling into the same trap.
