I had made airline and hotel reservations 30 days prior to departure date of July 16, 2019. Prior to my departure Hurrican Barry hit the entire Louisiana coastal area including New Orleans.
After much deliberate thought I decided to cancel trip because of severe flooding all around the New Orleans French Quarter. My hotel was located right in the heart of the French Quarter flooding (I have pictures). I immediately called the hotel to cancel prepaid lodging. Despite their no refund policy they issued an immedate refund because the front desk reservations did not think it was a good idea to travel there.
I contacted American Airlines and paid $175.00 mileage reinstatement to cancel trip.
I filed a claim with Allianz and after many, many excuses they denied my claim. What a ripoff!
I am in the process of filing another complaint with the VA Atty General; possibly inquire into starting a Class Action Lawsuit.
Don't use this company for your Ticketmaster insurance. You will not only be out of their fee of ~$14 but you will not get your money back either. It is a false sense of security just to get more of your hard earned money and you will have to submit a death certificate because of all the red tape. If you want some of your money back, I would suggest at least selling your tixs online. This company also did not ask me for my review. So I will post it everywhere else. BUYER PLEASE BEWARE!!!

To whom it may concern:
in Jan 2017 i purchased 2 r/t tickets on AA from charlotte to rome on may 28th 2017. the tickets non refundable
so i purchased travel insurance in case i had to cancel. on may 1st my wife said she did not want to go due to her
condition with dementia/lewy body. also she seeing all airline incidents people having problems getting kicked off
planes. i waited till about may 20th, hoping she would still go. she said no. i called the airline to cancel, they were okay
except no money back from them. so i deceide to put cliam in with travel allianz. i called them to ask what i have
to do. the girl said they needed copy of the ticket reservation, proof of purchased, and a doctor note. i faxed the form
to her doctor she filled it out and she faxed to allainz. i also certified papers i had. they advised would be 3 weeks
to leet us no, well in the 3 weeks they advised us we been denied. i put a appeal in in 2 days heard from them denied.
i sent a email to a mike nelson , president in richmond, he told a brian boyle to call me, he did siad i had no calin
more or less u are screwed. boyle has no compassion for my wife's condtions of dementia, same with pat whittaker.
i paid the airline 228.00 for travel insurance thru allianz travel group. airline ticket was $3,133.08.
unfortunately i bought insurance thru the airline so i couldn't look for reviews, if i would never hae bought
insurance thru a rotten company.
pat whitaker is a very nasty and surly person no compassion at all, same with brian boyle. already losy my money
jusy like to let other prople know what a rip off allianz travel insurance is.
