All State Van Lines Relocation Inc.'s Reviews
All State Van Lines is a Bait and Switch company. They sweet talked us into signing with them for our cross country move from Kentucky to Oregon. The original guy low-balled us on weight (I'm pretty sure on purpose) in order to get us to sign the contract. Then, at every turn, the cost increased by several thousand dollars. When the movers arrived to load us, they rushed packing and moving into one day. The mover tried to get my husband to come pick him up at a rest stop off of the highway before meeting him which was really weird. The movers did not carefully pack our stuff and broke several things. They didn't leave until almost midnight the night they packed us and charged us way too much for the packing material.
We were guaranteed that our stuff would be delivered by February 22. However, the delivery date keeps getting pushed back and now All State is telling us they don't know when it will be delivered but it will probably be another week. They also are telling us that they can't "guarantee" anything. They are not quick to return phone calls and it's nearly impossible to get to a supervisor to speak with. They hide all kinds of things in your contract to trick you on purpose so they can take advantage of you. Now, they are only offering to reimburse us $30 a day for being late which is ridiculous since we are paying them over $11,000 dollars for this move. I have never felt so scammed in my entire life. We don't even have our stuff yet and who knows if we will get it. Do NOT use All State Van Lines if you actually want good customer service and to have your things moved in a professional way.
Where do I begin. There are not words to describe the experience I've had. Gave me estimate of just of. 5,400 ended up paying just under 8,000 was suppose to be at my house on 2/12 between 7 and 9 no one showed up truck broke down ?? hmmm. So they contracted out another (relo)look them up. Prodigy mid Atlantic....moving company to be there by 12 to 4 the next day. They arrived about 5:30. Then they pulled there truck into my neighbors front yard and got stuck. So by 8 they start doing paper work by 9 I'm throwing them out of my house..... Just to tired and mad to deal with it So they come back this is Wednesday by now suppose to be moved Monday. 2 guys and 2 trucks don't know why 4 people wear not sent start loading truck 16 hrs to load these two trucks it was a house full of furniture but... ( I have 30 years in furniture business) this could have been done in less time. At 1:30 on thurs morning there done.
Then we get to destination 2 days later 8hr drive arrive at storage location 10:30 am start unloading at 3:00 pm. Due to the fact of us debating the $2,000 increase from original estimate. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use look at or any associate your self with this company or it's sub contractors.... I forgot about the 2 county police and 2 state troopers at my house do to them being stuck in the yard
My long distance move with All State Van Lines Relocation was the worst moving experience I have had, ever. After receiving the hard sell from an agent I would never hear from again, I went with this company. I was moving a one-bedroom apartment from NYC to Georgia.
They were supposed to have sent at least two guys for the move. Only one showed up, Amos, on either end of the move, and he acted as if he was annoyed that his "helper" wasn't showing up. I got the feeling he actually didn't want him to show up so that he could pocket the money. At the origin, Amos told me that he finally told the other guy not to come because he could do it himself.
So, Amos, who's in his 60s, kept boasting of his ability to do the entire move by himself. And while his energy was impressive, literally everything was damaged. Furniture was not wrapped before being moved. I stressed the importance of not tipping an antique dresser onto two legs, but he did it anyway so he could flip it onto his back. How is that handling with care?
At the destination, I watched my unwrapped nightstand tumble of the truck onto the street. He ended up sliding the antique dresser in a blanket down a two-foot concrete wall, making deep scratches in the top despite the blanket. The base of an expensive floor lamp was completely broken off, rendering it unusable. A kitchen table top has a deep gouge and numerous scratches.
Everything that wasn't seriously damage had, at the least, superficial scratches, chips, and dings. Every time Amos saw the damage he caused, he would just kind of shrug and say "eh" and carry on. The subsequent customer service I received from the movers and the insurance company was highly unsatisfactory.
Because of the harried move, I failed to notice on the paperwork that Amos had run a single line down a column that basically marked everything being moved as damaged already. Buyer beware. The insurance company has refused to compensate me for ANYTHING! Never, never again will I use this company.
