I contracted All Furniture Services because, of the five companies from which I requested quotes, they were the only one to respond. AFS does do one thing well: communicate. I had absolutely no trouble reaching them by phone or email, and the technician did arrive early.
I needed a broken trim piece glued back on a buffet cabinet. The technician replaced the pegs holding it in place with dowels that were too big. Instead of sanding or trimming them, he left a noticeable gap between the cabinet and the trim.
He also smeared quick-drying glue on the buffet, tried unsuccessfully to wipe it off, and chipped it off with his fingernails. Unfortunately, he took a 1x1.5” rectangle of paint with it.
He refused to fill the gap (that he caused), ruined my paint, and charged me $200 for a repair that is not complete. I now have to fix it myself. He was also supposed to replace the buffet’s rusted metal feet with screw-in felt feet. This was not done, and I can’t do it myself because the buffet is too heavy for me to move.
I had asked that the technician also fix a wooden side chair with a cracked back. I revoked permission for this when he failed to fix the buffet. I later discovered that he had glued the chair together - without properly lining up the two sides of the crack. The chair will have to be re-broken to repair it.
He also quoted $4995-5750, plus $800 in delivery fees, to refinish a small tabletop. The table itself isn’t even worth that amount. They will NOT be refinishing our table, nor will they be doing ANY work for us again.
