2 Years Ago My My Bank Card At The Time (Citibank) Was Charged 39.90. There was an attempt to get my money returned my bank and me as Well was told the money could not be returned due to subscription there was an attempt to cancel the subscription. Now today a debt collector calls me telling me that All American Readers Is Making an attempt to collect a debt. yet still never received Not one magazine from them can’t find a number for them no email returns And The debt collector is no better telling me That’s a collection on my name. Trying to force me to pay for something I’ve never recieved Not Even For The first payment that was taken Nothing was mailed to me Now There’s threats of going to court. When court Or What Ever Does Come Around They Won’t Be Able To Show AnyThing being mailed to me Because They Just Took They’re Money And Now this
I received a call from a local number stating I had been "chosen" to receive a $250.00 gift card for participating in an online servey. I needed to chose between a Visa, MasterCard, Amex. Or Discover. When I chose Visa, I also qualified to receive 5 different magizines (60) issues each, without a cost. I asked the Rep what company she was from, and she Stated All American Readers. (I have a Masters Degree in Marketing and take frequent surveys for reseach, however I did not take any survey from this company or any survey in reference to reading). I agreed, just for research purposes, and to see what type of scam I was dealing with. 1st thing. She needed to verify my mailing address to send the magizines, which was incorrect, so I provided an alternate address, one not linked to my personal information. Second, she advised me that I would need to pay for the postage on the magizines for a total of 3.56 per week, but I could "make it easy and just pay once a month". I agreed, and since they were going to send me a brocher to select my 5 magizines, I asked to be invoiced for the magizines. At that point she asked if I had a valid CreditCard, yes, I do but would prefer to pay Annually. She told me that after the year, the subscription s stop and are not renewed, so I had nothing to worry about. She then advised I was going to be transfered to the gift card department and transfered my call. The "giftcard" department answered the call asking for my credit card info right away, nothing was mentioned about the gift card. They needed to validate the Credit Card, but would not be charging the card. I vpiced my concern about giving my Credit Card info over the phone to someone who called me. He stated I just need the name, expiration date and card #, he didnt need the cvv, so I did not need to worry about fraud. (He already the "zip code" I provided to complete the transaction, which only I knew was not linked to my Credit card). I, again, told him that I am not comfortable giving that info over the phone. His response, "Whatever Lady, Screw You,"and disconnected the call.
They charge what what ever service they support to give monthly the charge is 49.99 $. I have tried to contact them to tell to stop but I have not succeed. Jackeline Lancaster,CA
American reader what a scam they don't send you your magazines they promise you 250 Walmart card for signing up then if you decide you want to cancel in this cancelation period they give you a disconnected number to call. When you confront them they say we can't cancel that. When asked for am manager they transfer you between 3 different people. I asked for the owners name and the "manager " said "what you think they just wait around waiting for you to call" this is one giant scam I had to put a dispute in with my bank to make sure they couldn't charge me again and they have no bbb accreditation. I filed a report with the AG and will see whom else I can send this scam to to gilet them shut down.
They called my cell phone offering a $250 Walmart gift card for a subscription of magazines, costing $1 an issue , well I have been charged $49.90 two months in a row! I cannot find any info on this "company"
