AlarmMonitoringServices.com Reviews
I am writing this report as I notice old complaints were from 2012. They are still the same in 2017. My issue is just a month old.
They do not disclose their month to month rate when you sign up for the low price "deal". It is $29.99. They would start you billing at this rate once the contract period is over, 6 months, 1 year etc., they will jack it up to $29.99. If you call to renew they will ask you to bring the account "current" meaning, pay $29.99 first and then get another year at rate of $11.99. If you want to cancel you still have to pay $29.99 even if you called minutes after receiving the invoice or on very first of the month. Too late! they will charge you for the whole month.
Cancellation is a multi-step process. Even after cancellation, they would send a threatening email saying that if your system any signal to them they will charge $25 per signal! and they will keep threatening along the process, that they would report to credit agency any amount they invoice and you do no pay.
So you need to program your system away from them before ordering cancellation. They talk nicely at the time of sign up but become horrible afterwards. It is a bait and switch. I would not recommend this ordeal to anyone.
This company has tons of hidden fees. If your system sends "Test Signals" then you need to pay for them but you will not know until after you sign up. Then, there is no way to cancel without losing hundreds of dollars. I chose to have the Test Signals turned off and they had me enter codes that destroyed my alarm system. They will not take responsability and they kept my money when I cancelled. They lie a lot!!
They are very rude and will threaten you if you say you will dispute the charges. I have never in all my years of doing business ran into such an awful business. They really did ruin my system and then threaten to charge me all kinds of money if I reported them or disputed the charges.
I am out of a whole lot of money and I feel like I have been robbed.....do yourself a favor and find another company! This is the first time in my life I have ever even taken the time to write a report to the BBB or fill an online complaint form....I hope I save someone a whole lot of humililation. They will speak to you like you're a burden right after you sign the contract and if you need a refund....forget it! I'm out $265.00 and my system is ruined.
After not being able to use the system for months, we cancelled the service with Alarmmonitoringservice.com.
They charged us in February for a service we had already cancelled with a bill of 29.00. I contacted them via email 3 times and there was no response so we did a chargeback.
One month later I received a nasty email stating that we did not cancel the service (which we did) and a bill for $689.35 - FOR A SINGLE 29.95 CHARGEBACK. Which the credit card company also said was invalid. (they approved the chargeack)
This company is hostile to say the least and as you see has a terrible reputation for doing the same things to others.
Do not use this company under any circumstance. It is illegal to charge chargeback fees to the customer for invalid charges - but they are attempting to do.
DON’TYOU DARE DO ANY BUSINESS WITH A S ALARM SERVICES OR CEN COM, INC. We fell into this trap without doing research. This is a “NO CONTRACT” SCAM that has hurt many people. They use your credit card to extract higher fees and bill automatically without your authority. Once they have your credit card, you’re hooked. They have used unsavory business tactics to try and extract higher fees, including “leased” equipment charges, denial of cancellation “until you pay your balance” , minimum collection fees, Non-returned equipment fees, contract default fees, credit card charge back fees, collection firms, and the list goes on.
What we have done: Disputed charges with credit card company, disconnected the equipment, sent a certified letter to company to cancel immediately (they will deny cancellation), sent back the equipment with certified return receipt, cancelled our credit card to stop further charges, checked with the Washington State Attorneys Generals website and found JUDGEMENT on Cen Com Inc dba A S Alarm Services, reported them to the AG’s complaint site, checked out BBB, who gave them an A- rating (should be F-) and now reporting them to this site.
We will still have to deal with the credit bureaus and collection company. We will not pay them to extract money for unfair business tactics. Anyone who has any sense will check out this link:

After purchasing alarm monitoring service from said company, Ive initially went to ask the system tested 2 weeks after. Company placed my alarm on test mode. After 2 succesive alarm tests, Ive called dispatch center and been told that they have not received any signal. Another test was done the day after and same thing happened. After a good 30mins was when a police officer came out and said they were called by alarm company dispatch. I told officer that said alarm should have been on test mode where service tech had initially told me that the alarm is not working the way its supposed to. Then I got billed by false alarm anyway a few weeks after. Ive decided to pull the plug and terminate their services. Called and complained about it. Requested a full refund as was stated on their website saying 90 day guarantee or your money back. Plus a big note also saying 100% guarantee or we will pay you 100 dollars.
Instead the person named Tom Reed claimed everything was working and showed me signals they have received during the test. Signals that the dispatch center told me they never got.
As an added insult, they have added a crude 99 dollar charge as they said was stated on their terms and consitions, for alarm module once termination was made, and will be credited back once said module was returned. Added to this was a 19 dollar charge for another month's service as again was staed on their rules. Initially the charge made for monthly was 5.95. They said it was a promotional rate upon signing service agreement and that regular 19 dollars would acrue thereafter if not renewed online. Very crude way of operating I must say. Ive called my n=bank to dispute all charges and to stop any further charges made onto my card. The bank instantly did so and even offered to help me out resolve the issue by filing a claim. Now, company again sent me e-mails about a total 469 dollar charge for me disputing all charges with the bank (chargeback per stated on the invoice), as well as charge due to processing non-payment towards their collection department. I need any help I can get the stop this company from re-doing such unprofessional scheme
