I called Aire Serv to work on my air conditioner. they cameout I had everything open and ready for them. When the service man got here I told him I might have shorted the 24 volt circuit out, so we went inside to check the motherboard out and yes it was burnt out. he checked the transformer it was ok so he started looking up a price and told me a cheeper board price was around $634.49, I said isn't that a little high and he replied the boards run about a 1/3 of the price of a furnace. He had to run for the part, came backand put it in, time totaled was between 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. when he finishedhe had me sign the paper work, and i had him leave the box and part with me. I looked up on the internetfor the board the cheepest was $62.00 and the most expensive I found was $99.94. When i called the company to complain the guy said you signed the contract didn't you, and I said that was before I new prices, he started talking about overhead and how the price of gas was almost $4.00 dollors a gal. and I told him gas was down to $2 something a gal, he replied not were he was, a few miles away, and then said how milk was 5.00 a gal to whichi replied i am not buying your milk. I never got anywhere with him but you have to agree over $250.00 dollors an hour labor is a rip off.
