I booked a stay listed on airbnb from their host “Florida fun” aka floridafuntourism..com. Within 24 hours I learned the family member that I was planning to visit in Florida had been diagnosed with a thyroid tumor and would be having to undergo treatment instead of seeing us in their hometown of Kissimmee. I immediately contacted the host and told them of the news. They refused a refund and asked for proof. I sent them images of the text conversation. They denied my claim with no words or anything just denied and kept the money for my stay saying they have a no refund policy. I was out $837 for a service not completed! I contacted Airbnb support and they denied a chargeback. They said the seller had a no refunds policy so there's nothing that they can do. I believe that Airbnb is facilitating unethical business. I want to note that it would have been easy to book this by mistake as there is no slide to reserve button that most use to protect buyers on their site. The host Floridafuntourism.comhas the property relisted on the same date and will likely have it rebooked. I don’t see how they lost any money but I do see how they are preying on customers for extra profit! Both Airbnb inc and Floridatourism.com are actively looking for every way that they can profit even if it is at the loss of others. No service was provided but I still am paying for the stay. I will try to chargeback through my card but I believe both of these companies need to be investigated.

Booked short weekend in Nashville for November 11th. Medical complications forced me to cancel over 30 days in advance. First told by air bnb I had to submit wriitten proof of illness. I refused ad that is protected health information irrelevant for refund.

Owner if property saud refund was up to air bnb. They said it was up to owner. When I pushed to talk to supervisor, all I received was a notice frim "Mae" who stated she was closing the claim. I didnt receive any more communication, info on a refund and was blockef on further complaints.

That is the way air bnb conducts business. Very poor practice. So i paid hundreds on a house that wad cancelled far in advance with the ability for them to rent it again while I still paid for it. Big big rip off. Air bnb should go under with these tertible practices.

AirBnB - Tucson Hacienda - 6981 N. Ozone Road, Tucson, AZ Do not rent from Brenden or Kasha on the AirBnB website or any other website for that matter. Brenden is an absolute scam artist. In early June, I reserved a 5-6 bedroom home in the Catalina Foothills. Our plans were to surprise our oldest son with a vacation to the city where he was born.

I paid approximately $1700.00 down. According to all the fine print, I had until July 15, 2020 to cancel and get a 50% refund. The property owner and AirBnB are only agreeing to refund $94.00! I canceled in late June due to the Big Horn wild fires. Parts of the Catalina Foothills are under a mandatory evacuation. Also, Tucson has been hit hard by a second round of Covid 19.

Both of my children have underlying health conditions and their pediatrician urged us not to travel to AZ at this time. I tried disputing this with AirBnB but their asking for medical documentation. I am not about to share my children’s confidential/protected health information with AirBnB because the homeowner is refusing to honor his own refund policy.

Brenden was very responsive to my messages before booking. Now that I’ve canceled and I’m demanding a full refund, he’s a lot less responsive. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY! He’s an absolute crook. I’m not sure how he looks at himself in the mirror. I bet even his own parents are very ashamed. We are now left with no option but to turn things over to our attorney.

Anecdotally, I have a tremendous amount to say about this experience but will limit the review to only statements which can be proven.

THE PROCESS

On 2/15/2022 I reserved a listing and paid a 50% deposit; then paid the remaining 50% due for rental on 6/16/2022. Having heard nothing from the owner since 2/16/2022 I reached out using AirBnB’s messaging system on 6/29/2022. The owner responded the same day, asked to follow-up via a personal email address, and I received a message later in the day indicating “ Attached is our rental agreement with all the house information, details, check-in, check-out, parking, etc.”

The “rental agreement” contains new details which were not included in the AirBnb listing, see applicable items copied and pasted from the rental agreement below:

New details - “Automobiles are not allowed to park on the street. Two (2) parking spaces are available for renters. Vehicles parked on the side of road may be towed as these are No Parking zones. Please note that owners use the parking space in between the cottages, please park in this designated “Renter Parking” area only, under the front porch, against the rock foundation:

Note: the Property Owner uses the lawn area for parking at all times, which is the space to the left of Tenant Parking, as well as, the Basement is restricted to the Owner's use only.”

THE DECISION

I had already paid for the rental in full upon receipt of the rental agreement. This situation forced me to make a choice; cancel my childrens beach trip at the last minute and plead for my money back, or attempt to cope with new terms in an unexpected situation. I chose the latter.

With the exception of the two tenant parking spaces the remainder of the property is an active parking lot for not just the owners, but dozens of their friends and family that come and go throughout the day and into the late evening hours; the “owner’s only” basement is effectively used as a cabana for this large group. There were points in time where there were up to eleven vehicles on the property, only one of which was mine. Please see the photographs linked below

I rented this guy Patrick apartment from Air Bnb and the area the apartment was in had guys standing around looking at you as you take your bags out the car. It also didn't look like the picture on the website.

The area looked bad with paper littered all around so I reported it to the Air Bnb office asking for a refund of $189 and the Host...Patrick went off on me in his messages. This is what he does to all clients when they have something bad to say about his place when its true. (Pics of Convo below)

Hello, I am emailing you because I am a victim of horrible customer service and theft. I have been a customer of air B and B for years and never did I think you all would take advantage of customers the way I am being taken advantage of. I made a reservation for a group of 12 to visit San Juan in May. Upon arrival the house looked nothing like what was described on the site. When we entered, it was also disappointing. I contacted the host when the electricity and water went out.

I asked for a refund so I could find another place to stay. He agreed. I then attempted to contact air B and B to ensure my refund but could not get anyone on the phone at 10pm. So I attempted to use the automated system. The automated system was horrible and kept replying with general responses. As a result I had no choice but to contact my bank. The women with me needed their money back in order to pay for another place so the refund was an emergency.

Three months later my bank tells me they could only honor half of the credit because the host contacted them and stated he never received a complaint or requested a refund. He lied to them and as a result they gave him half of the payment from my account. I then provided them proof that I did contact the host, attempts to contact sir B and B and the receipts from the place we eventually stayed. My bank still stated that they could not obtain the money from the merchant and as a result I needed to contact air B and B. When I did, you all were no help. You all stated that because I contacted my bank you all couldn’t help me.

The reason I contacted my bank was because you were of no help from the beginning! And now I’m out of 1100 dollars because your host lied. Your customer service is horrible and as a customer I feel totally taken advantage of. This should never happen to anyone and the fact you all penalize me for contacting my bank is absurd. I do plan to file any and all complaints I have because being cheated out of 1100 dollars because of a lie is ridiculous. Alisha Clayton Sent from my iPhone

We booked our trip in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale, FL. with Bnbify (aka Miami Executive Suites) on Airbnb. Our trip was scheduled for 7 days for $2700.00.

As required by law we got Covid tests. We tested positive. Shared the test results with Justin the host, and he said sorry no refund, but assured us we could use the dates another time. I thought it was a bit shady being that It was the law and not us that caused the cancellation. But we wanted to go another time.

So we booked again with Bnbify to make up for the trip we missed. About a week before our trip, we get a message from Justin Holloway the host, requesting us to move our dates. Our plane tickets were already bought, so we said we couldn't. Justin Holloway then texted us that he would give us a $500 credit. We paid $2700 and this guys wants to give us $500???

I texted back, the trip cost us $2700, give us back $2000 and we'll be done with it. Honestly, I really didn't want to deal with this clown anymore and was willing to take the loss. I get a text back Ok, the money will be in your account in 3-4 days.

Cleanbb has numerous apartments around Milan which they rent out through AirBB. Probably all with electronic; locks. No one is available to check you in. They have had numerous cases of locks not working but on the Sunday we arrived there was no one to help us. Our messages went unanaswered. We notified them that we were cancelling for breach of contract.

Cleanbnb refused refund but gave no reason

BEWARE of Airbnb cancellation policy regarding refund of service fees. I had to cancel 6 Airbnb reservations in September, 2021 due to the forest fire emergencies throughout California. Our planned route to access Airbnb locations were closed by a declaration of Emergency by Gov. Newsom and official closures of certain National Parks by the National Park Service. Each of our 6 confirmed reservations stated "Cancel before 3:00PM on Sept XX and get a full refund.

After that, cancel by 3:00PM on Sept XY and get a full refund, minus the first night and service fee." I cancelled each of the reservations before the cutoff date and received a full refund (including service fees) for the first 3 reservations. Airbnb refused to refund the service fees for the other 3 reservations stating that those refunds were limited to 3 per year. There was no reference to this restriction or policy in any of the 6 confirmed reservations.

I then asked for a refund under Extenuating Circumstances and again was refused when they stated that "Extenuating Circumstances Policy do not cover road closures which are used to access listings."

Airbnb’s illegal practices

1st off let me say that I don’t usually leave reviews but I just had to this time, perhaps it may help someone else when trying to make a decision on if they should use this company or not. If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Airbnb is a complete ripoff and allows illegal practices from their host. I recently relocated to Atlanta from California, reserved a long term stay at a high rise in Sandy Springs, only to be told by the building management that the host was being evicted due to an unpaid balance of over $12,000 AND that Airbnb’s were not allowed to be in their building because it’s a violation of the lease.

I advised Airbnb of this issue along with several other issues for instance the electricity had been disconnected along with the internet and that I now will be homeless with my daughter in a state that I have absolutely no where else to go once we vacate the property. The rep told me that she would adjust my check out date to reflect the eviction date and remove the remainder of the balance since I am being forced to vacate the property and because all the other issues as well.

A few days later I get an alert from my credit card for an attempt to withdraw over $2,000 from Airbnb. I inquired about it and I was told that I had an unpaid balance from my stay with my prior Airbnb host. Um hello how in the heck do you justify this. I was forced to leave due to the host being evicted and you expect me to pay for a place that I am not even at due to someone else’s irresponsible behavior. Then I started to get collection calls.

Now I’m in another Airbnb and my payment for this one was collected and forwarded to the prior host that was evicted. Now I have to leave because it looks like I haven’t paid for my current stay. Please be aware of Airbnb’s illegal, unjustified and unprofessional actions. Find somewhere else to stay and please stay clear of this company. They will steal your money and have you stranded somewhere and could care less about it.

I rented a place in Florida for a vacation. In the days leading up to my vacation time, a hurricane was expected to make landfall so I sought to cancel. After making the rounds talking to their "customer service" in vietnam and India, they kept 1000 dollars of my money and said that the hurricane is not an extenuating circumstance for a cancellation.

Do business with them at your own peril.

On March 1, I went to the Airbnb home that i had reserved for my brief stain in Scottsdale Arizona. I arrived at the home and on arrival based on the exterior of the home it was not at all what was expected. There were large garbage cans sitting in front of the house. As we proceed to enter the home and walk through it, we noticed an odor in the house as well as numerous food/drink stains on the floors. We continue through the house and found more dirt and grime throughout the home. Shower head was disgusting and bathtub had rings.

We also noticed a bottle of old spice soap sitting on the bathtub left by previous guest. We opened the refigerator beer and other food items left in the refrigerator from the prior guest. there were opened and used boxes of plasticware on the counter. Left by prior guest. We go into the bedrooms to find stains on the bedspreads and broken blinds. The furniture is old and looks like it is from a used hotel furniture sale. There were many fleas throughout the house. There were scratches on the doors and walls from a dog or other pet. Keep in mind, I was paying $679/night for this home and it did not provide the basics which was cleanliness.

We continue outside to the pool area and the patio chairs were full of yellow stains and were gross. The pool was dirty and had not been cleaned at all. The exterior of the home had rotting wood on it indicating the home had not been cared for and maintained. We left immediately and I contacted Airbnb, clicked on the link to involve Airbnb and requested a refund and I was told to try to resolve it with the host so I contacted the host Bethany to make her aware of the unclean and unsanitary state of this house and that we would not be staying here. She immediately pretended to care and send us across town looking at another not so great, not so clean and even unsafe property and I declined staying at either house via text message.

She said she understood and said she would reach out to the owner to request a refund and she would call me back once she spoke to him. In the meantime, I am without a place to stay and a long way from home. I go to Homewood Suites and thankfully I was able to get us some rooms. It was a group of eight of us and we were trying to make the best of our three night stay considering our first day was ruined. Bethany called back shortly after saying that they owner approved the refund. I continued to make the best of my trip but kept an eye out form the refund. It never showed up and as of today April 22, 2021 still has not shown up. I have been bombarded with numerous excuses and reasons why my money will not be returned including lies that i never canceled the reservation and I did not reach out to Airbnb within 24 hours.

Ive been yelled at by Airbnb representatives and told that they would allow the Owner to decide whether or not my money would be returned. Basically, letting the scammer decide. I am now reporting them because people need to know not to rent on Airbnb and if you do decide to rent stay away from Bethany the host. The houses she host are awful. They are not cleaned thoroughly. as she states and they all appear to have old used hotel fueniture or something. The pictures are not a true representation of these homes and they are using a filter or something to enhance the photos. I never stayed in the house but they kept my money. They expected me to want to stay in a filthy house that smelled and had fleas. If the house had at least been clean I would have made it work. It was not.

I have tried working with them since March 1 and i keep getting the runaround and no resolution to this issue. I want my money back they did not deliver what they were supposed to and I never stayed in that home at all.

I rented a house in Palm Springs for 2 days with a group of friends to safely celebrate a birthday and relax.

On 12/2/20 the City of Los Angeles was give a stay at home order specific to "no families living in sperate home are to gather. It would be subject to fine or jail time. I reached out to the ownder of the home explaining that we were over 50 and felt it was the right thing to do. That it was mandated and we felt wrong about coming. He told me this:Hi Jamie - we are still open for business as our rental is in Riverside County, not LA county. We would still love have you come out and escape LA!

Given we ALL were from LA Coounty it was a mute point. The next day we were given a state mandate from our Govenor that duperseaded the LA Country order and it now included RIversdide County where the home was. He said he has no orders and therefore would not refund. I had cancelled on 12/3 giving host Patrick the chance to rent the house out. He told me to go to airbnb and ask for extenuating circumsatances due to COVIC restrictions. I did this airbnb told me he was the one who would need to refund the deposit of $800. He said no and I was not offered a credit or any other resolve.

This is a large chunck of money to me and I was very angry with this hosts unwillingness to offer a solution. He was asking me to break a mandated saftey and health restriction. He also re rented the property!

I booked a stay at "Location. Location." in Washington DC. When I arrived, I contacted the host (Byron Ellerby) to get the wifi password. He informed me that there would be workmen coming to fix the holes in the ceiling. I then realized that there was no way to secure my laptop and other things because there was no keyed lock on the door. I went to take a shower, and there was a dead bat on the shower head. I notified the host, and he said that he would not be able to be there until 7:30 that night.

I was alone in a strange city and did not feel comfortable wandering around the streets with all of my luggage after dark. I informed him that I would find alternate accommodations, and his response was "do what you want." He never contacted me again. I tried to go through the refund resolution process on Airbnb, but there was no response from the host and no way to connect directly with airbnb.

When they sent me an email for a review, I responded to it. I received a text from the host stating that airbnb deleted my review. He then proceeded to attack me personally. There is no way to get in touch with airbnb to try to resolve the issue.

I have booked a property in Portugal through Airbnb. Portugese embassy was contacted to confirm whether US citizens would be accepted into the country. The response email stated that US citizens wouldn't be allowed to enter Portugal due to pandemic situations (email proof). Once known, I have contacted Airbnb customer support and they agreed upon being reimbursed in full (i have proof of their acceptance). The refund was made only in the amount of 50%. upon being contacted multiple times, no one responded from Airbnb customer support.

i have filed a dispute charge with my bank (capital one) who provided a temporary credit until the situation would be resolved. I was contacted by the bank the other and told that the charge was valid and I wouldn't be reimbursed. The bank didn't even take the time to request the proof of evidence of my conversation wuth Airbnb

At the beginning of 2020 we booked an Airbnb stay in Galveston Texas. The stay was scheduled to take place from Aug. 28-Sept. 3 2020. We paid $582.61 in advance. On Aug. 25 a mandatory evacuation was issued for Galveston by the Governor due to the approaching hurricane Laura. As we were driving from over twelve hours away we had scheduled the first stop in Plano, TX on the 27th and heading to Galveston the next day.

All forecasts put Galveston on the outer band of the storm. We could not afford to drive twelve hours just to be turned away, and come back home so at the last minute we were forced to cancel and re plan our vacation. Airbnb has chosen to only refund $475 of the $582.61 we paid. That’s a difference of $107.61 and we want that back.

Hello , I am writing you as I need help or a direction on where to go for help. Me and my wife booked a trip through Airbnb on 3/1/2020 for travel to Australia on 6/3/2020 through 6/10/2020. Late April when covid was at its peak , Australia closed its borders to tourists , and our airline canceled the return flight . On 4/30/2020 we were forced to cancel the place through Airbnb due the above mentioned .

On Airbnb website , they outline their Covid refund policy as "reservations made on or before 3/14/2020 , with a check in date between 3/14/2020 and 6/30/2020, May cancel before checkin. This means guests who cancel under the policy will receive a full cash refund.” They are refusing to refund us , except $10.71 , out the $347.31 we paid out . This is absolutely unjust and it goes against their posted refund policy . Can you guys help, or can you direct me to somewhere that can?

Airbnb has falsely implemented a refund policy regarding trip reimbursements due to COVID-19 and travel plans.

Airbnb is refusing to issue a full refund as stated in their policy. I receiced a partial refund but not the full amount I paid. I've tried numerous times to request full refund and they are giving me reasons as to why I'm not eligible. My extenuating circumstances clearly meet the policy. I was traveling on the dates listed on the policy and to a location that has one of the highest COVID-19 Cases and Deaths.

Airbnb.com Airbnb Christian Taylor (the scammer) Sanchari (the case manager who illegally withdrew over $900 from my account without any warning, reason or consent) Neeraj (the case manager who lied and said he would call me back, then screened my calls and stopped responding) Corena (the case manager who claimed a moderate cancelation policy means a customer can get over 75% refunded after staying for more than 50% of the booking, two weeks). Airbnb stole over $900 from my account without any reason, warning or consent.

I can't pay my morgage because Christia Taylor was issued a refund after stealing/losing the keys three times. When I told her she would have to pay if I had to leave work early to replace her key agian, Airbnb promised they wouldn't force a refund.

The name of the case manager who withdrew 900 from my account is Sanchari. Neeraj is the name of the case manager who took over after Sanchari lied about calling back and stopped communication for several days.

Corena is the name of the employee who claims a moderate cancelation policy means guests can be refunded up to 75% for the days they stayed after several weeks.

I went to Airbnb to book accommodations in Turks and Caicos. I narrowed it down to 4 places. I notified them by making a tentative booking. One place got back to me and I said yes and sent them a $775 CDN down payment. I notified the other 3 places that I booked with somebody else and will not book with them. Two of them emailed me back saying “thanks for the heads up”.

A week later I was checking my bank info and noticed that the 3 AirBnb billed my credit card totalling $,1,393.18 CDN!!. You can’t get a hold of AirBnb. It doesn’t have a ‘contact us’ category on its site. So I called my bank and they established a 3 way connection. I explained to this arrogant Airbnb spokesperson what happened.

I gave no authority to take money from my card. Then my bank lady spoke up: “Why would he book 3 additional places for the same dates? It makes no sense,” The AirBnB guy said. “Sorry we are not responsible”!

Airbnb refused to give my money back. My bank lady spoke up “This conversation is over. My bank is filing a fraud report complete with a recording of the conversation. My bank lady said to him “you will be hearing from us. Goodbye.”

Airbnb ….. be very careful. They are a dishonest company.

Be careful when dealing with Tim Allen, AirBandB host, in Northern Az. After trying to deal with him directly and getting nowhere, I then contacted AirBandB and the Az Attorney General’s office about a noise complaint while in the vacation rental. Mr Allen’s response was that 'I made it all up’ because we didn’t like the place and wanted to vacate.

In fact, we very much liked the place itself but the many and consistently barking dogs were a nuisance. The whole noise-documented video tape was submitted to AirBandB as well as the Az Attorney General’s office. I did eventually get all of my money returned to me through AirBandB.

Mr Allen did refund me for two nights that were rebooked. He is difficult to deal with and accusing me of 'making it all up’ is extremely unprofessional behavior. RENTERS BEWARE!

The owner had made put many unreasonable restrictions on us. We wrote a review that explained our experience but Airbnb failed to post it. As a consumer we feel like this is very misleading and dishonest not to post reviews that are negetive. Are they trying to hide theses reviews to make them look better, or are they protecting the host?

In any case it is bad business and they're not allowing the public to have the facts based on they're personal experience. We're going to pursue this further, what a scam who can be trusted? We booked a home based in the reviews and if there misleading it is fraudulent. Please inform us as to what are rights are and how we can allow the public to be made away of the cover-up.

When my husband and I went to check into an Airbnb on August 23, 2019 in Warren, Rhode Island, we discovered it was full of mold and it made both of us very sick. We even met with the host who denied any mold in her basement unit. We couldn't find any place to stay and ended up staying in our car. The host said she would refund us six days of our month's booking so we could find someplace else and we would only get any additional refund if she was able to find other guests to fill our booking.

I notified Airbnb of the awful mold situation at that Airbnb and they wanted documentation. I told them we didn't have time to take pictures because we had to turn around and get out as soon as possible. A friend of ours was with us and she smelled the awful mold, too, when we got ready to check in. We also booked another Airbnb for a month later (October 25, 2019 through November 24, 2019) and as soon as we got sick on August 23, 2019, I called and spoke with the host to cancel and also did a written cancellation explaining that we had become ill and would have to cancel our booking.

Airbnb states for that particular Airbnb, that should we cancel up to 14 days before check-in, we would receive a full refund but up to 7 days before, only 50% refund which I felt was very reasonable when I booked this second Airbnb. When calling Airbnb to get a full refund on this second Airbnb, I was pointed to their "long term booking" policy which, to my horror, any booking 28 days or longer states that the first 30 days is non refundable.

I had never heard of such a thing and not only that, Airbnb wanted me to provide a doctor's statement to them stating that my husband and I had become ill. We will never use Airbnb because they are nothing more than a rip off.

We thought it would be a nice place (AIRBnB) to rent from Nov 2018 to May 2019 but it turned into our worst nightmare. First we discovered mouse droppings everywhere so we knew the property hadnt been cleaned properly, then we discovered actual mice on the counters crawling all over the dishes every night and we actually caught it on video.

We had to bleach and clean mouse poop up every morning and for what we were paying per month we shouldn't have had to go through this. On top of everything the cabin is within 50 feet of the landlord so she came over everyday unannounced and harrassed us for not going outside to interact with nature and suggested we change our sleep patterns to get up earlier to come out and enjoy nature.

We rented the cabin to get away not to be constantly harrased. Also she stated she hates Christians because they are usually hunters who kill animals!! We were apppalled! We had to leave the property early because of the rashes my band mate developed from the mouse droppings and unclean environment.

It looked nice when we first got there but underneath it all is a log cabin in bad need of repairs, poorly insulated with a huge mouse problem so if you are ok with living with mice, youre not a Christian, meat eater or a hunter then this might work out for you..And after all we went through she was so money hungry she kept our deposit and made up a bogus excuse that we damaged her kitchen pipes just so she could keep the money when she was actually the last person to use the kitchen.

A very horrible person that smiles and acts the part, gives you a cheap bottle of wine when u arrive and tells you how she contracted lime disease and how hunters are the devil but she really just wants the money and could care less about the well being or happpiness of the tenants. She also stole mail on two seperate occasions, the police were contacted and came out to confront her and she ended up admitting she actual had the mail only because we threatened to press charges.

This place is a nightmare. Maybe if youre only staying a few days she can camoflague things but staying for months or weeks you better check the fine print on the contract. She doesnt allow mouse traps or bug spray. A horrible horrible person she is and very creepy.

We showed host service dog certificate and she still charged us a fee (ILLEGAL) and then stil refused to let our dog into home ?? Airbnb states they wont refund ....I will sue them - these laws making it illegal to refuse a service dog are protected by the DOJ (Dept of Justice) and ADA. Some lakey named Emma lies that she is in the legal dept. and dismisses me.

Keeps harrassing me and telling me host doesnt remember EVEN though I remind them my husband was there and that makes 2 against 1 ! Please send me a lawyer in San Diego - this was a tragic situation and caused medical problems/pain and suffering that frankly, are ongoing. I have an open and shut case and they have been proven guilty on this before.....

I hosted on behalf of Airbnb for over a month. It has been over 2 years and all they tell me is they will get back to me. Seeing they have complaints of taking money from bank accounts I tried to remove by bank acount.

They refuse to provide any address or email to put this in writing. I unlisted and they also refuse to remove by bank account information off their site.

I purchased a $500 Airbnb Gift Card to pay for reservations in Europe. The gift cards can only be used for the first of the two payments. The second payment has to be on a credit card.

This policy was not explained on the back of the gift card. This is a fraudulent and unenethical practice engaged by Airbnb. Do not buy Airbnb Gift Cards or use a company that cheats its customers!

Airbnb is a ripoff. They have zero contact information. You cannot call The company. For any reason. It is not a safe environment for your money or your family. They accepted my reservation and payment. They cancelled my account without cause or notice. They have not returned any of my payment. (206.24). They left me no recourse because they refuse to handle customer service and refunds. Do not use Airbnb. they will take your money, and their business model is not safe for your money or your family.

AirBnb gives the illusion of security deposits, guest reviews and protection from criminals such as conman, thieves and vandals by making false promises. In reality they encourage and reward vandalism and scamming by issuing refunds to customers up to 10 days after checking in if they break stuff, make a mess and take pictures. Hosts ate forced to refund vandals on demand while letting them continue to stay. The vandals and conmen are allowed to leave public reviews on homes they cancelled, finished checking in and checking out based on pictures vandals take several days into a stay. Only 5 star ratings are published on their profiles. All negative reviews and attempts to warn other hosts of scammers and vandalism is censored.

This can not stand, I don't want not even one more single Torontonian or Canadian to suffer what could be their fate, as was mine...

What has been my daily torment for, will be one year on Oct 27th.

As a Canadian, I am aghast! My wildest imaginings I could not even formulate the idea of how to treat a fellow human being, esp. someone you are supposed to (lies again), be there for so vile. Immediately blocked my account, severed communication, told any attempt to contact them will be ignored... a serial killer on the loose in my neighbourhood while my sanctuary is ravaged... they could as much as give a

Let me state upfront, I am not complaining about the hosts who use AirBNB to rent out their homes. Most of them are good people just trying to earn a few dollars. My concern is with AirBNB as an entity. They do absolutely nothing except act as an introduction service between the people renting their homes and potential guests.

When things do go wrong as sometines they do, AirBNB will provide you with no assistance. I recently had cause to raise a concern with AirBNB. Accommodation which my family and I had booked was not ready for occupation when we arrived after a long trip from Asia back to the USA. Calls and texts to the host went unanswered. As a last resort, I called AirBNB and was advised to contact the host and allow him 24 hours to put things right !! Had I been able to contact the host there would have been no requirement to call AirBNB in the first place.

The outcome was I had to quickly find alternative accommodation for my family , late in the evening in a strange city. Since then , a few weeks have gone by and trying to get a refund from AirBNb has proved very frustrating. A case manager was assigned who asked the most banal questions and totally missed the whole point of my concerns. I was asked to provide information, which I did and was then requested to confirm the validity of the information.

AirBNB seemed to be doing everything possible to avoid having to provide a refund. Their final statement was they are only a third party with no control over the hosts who are the only ones who can provide refunds.

As other travel sites now offer rental homes , I strongly urge you to consider these sites and avoid using AirBNB. They take your money but provide absolutely nothing in return.

Japan changed it's laws to prevent airbnb from ruining it's strict curtesy culture. Fair enough. We used airbnb for every trip to Japan since 2013. We had two out of the three trips cancel last minute and was advised by airbnb that refunds will be made in 15 days. No phone call, or email to help us and no confirmation that our third stay was OK. Just an automated email stating that someone would be in touch. They also forced us to explain why WE (The customer who got cancelled on) was cancelling… They also offered us $100 gift vouchers for each cancellation as an apology and then didn’t honour it. We have sent almost 25 emails with not one response. My last email was to advise them if they continued to ignore us, we would complain online - clearly they chose to continue to ignore us and hence this online report as submitted.

What a waste and a shame they lost a once loyal customer due to sheer negligence. I certainly wouldn’t recommend staying at airbnb anymore as you may have years of great experiences but all it takes is one bad one for them to show they actually do not have the capacity to look after the travelling community nor do they have adequate communication timeframes which are critical when you re overseas or days away from leaving the country. It will only take one bad experience to ruin your vacation. For some, like us, it was something we had saved half the year to have. Trust me, You don’t need the stress, go to a hotel instead.

Airbnb, inc. Will get rid of you for any reason and they do not need to tell you the reason! airbnb, inc. 888 brannan street

Regarding: very serious complaint

Back on tuesday, april 10, 2018, i was checking my daily emails like usual and came across a very disturbing email/message that was sent to me by luke s. From airbnb, inc. Stating that my account has been cancelled/suspended due to something related to their terms of service.

Well, how may i ask if that is possible if they already let me rent out my legitimate rooms to over five (5) guests and all and/or most of them even wrote me reviews/comments and vice versa?

In addition: i had no major problems with any of them either.

Please note: i also have no crime record and have never been to jail either and you still did this to me!

It just does not make any common sense to me! it just seems that you allowed this cruel luke s.

To go into any of your advertiser's accounts as he wishes and randomly choose and/or kick out selected innocent individuals such as myself for no good reasons!

I can see the trend based on the number of public complaints that have been filed on quora.com which include my public complaints that i filed as well that you can publicly view below for your reference and further review.

Please note: i even contacted your customer service department twice very recently and must have spent at least two (2) hours on the phone just to find out that they do not even have the reasons either about why luke s. Deliberately and purposely kicked me out of airbnb without providing a legitimate reason since no crime was committed.

Please note: i find this kind of corporate behavior and abuse towards your legitimate members, including myself to be very prejudice, racist and bigoted to all extents of the law and i am not letting this go away that fast.

If you are not going to reinstate my account in good standing since nothing illegal was done, then i will go to small claims court and take it up with the judge. I have absolutely no room for your corporate abuse that you do to many innocent advertisers and i am not going to be one of them.

In addition: i am now going to be publishing very negative reviews about this horrible and undeserving experience on to social media which include google maps, facebook.com, yellowpages.com, sitejabber.com, yscam.com, consumeraffairs.com and the better business bureau since i am very active on social media and as a google guide, level 8, i have over 6,000,000 views per month on my photos/reviews, worldwide!

Enclosed, in this letter and negative review of very serious complaint, please find a copy of luke s.'s very negative letter of disgust and embarrassment, along with other letters of communication for your reference and further review.

Based on this horrible experience of totally unnecessary levels of abuse coming from luke s. And due to the fact that your corporate executives refused to do anything about my complaint, i am not recommending airbnb, inc. To anybody!

Sincerely yours,

Howard paul shore angry and upset former airbnb, inc. Advertiser executive, volunteer writer for google and tripadvisor websites/hps

Enclosures: please see the attachments for copies of luke s.'s negative letter of disgusting harassment, bigotry and racism, along with other letters of communication for your reference and further review. Thank you.

I rented an apartment on Airbnb. Upon arriving, I was questioned by the tenants as to whether I was an Airbnb user and If so, I was in violation of the apartment’s rules. Needless to say, my vacation was ruined. Instead of living in fear of eviction or being cussed out, I rented a room at the Viceroy. I found out that Airbnb knows The Shores apartments are off limits but continues to let the apartment renters post. The management and multiple tenants reported the unit I rented as a repeat violator. I met Gregory and Tenya Pierce on Airbnb. I was new to Atlanta at the time, as a struggling creative in her early 20s, fresh out of art school, meaning to build herself from the ground up. I had travelled to the new entertainment capitol of the South on an ambitious leap of faith with no plan and just my car, technical equipment for my craft, and personal belongings. I was just a kid with a dream and was desperate for a place to stay.

Upon arrival to the house, I could tell that the house was worn down. My room was a sublet in the basement. It came with a private bedroom and bathroom across the hall. There were roaches and bugs crawling all over the house. Air conditioning and heat was hardly running. Not to mention this was located in a bad neighborhood. Tons of shootings and sirens going all around at night and even in the middle of the day. Fires randomly being started in the neighborhood.

The property manager's name was Tenya Pierce. Gregory, the actual owner of the house (which is her biological brother) resided in a completely different state (New York) so she was given the responsibility to cater to his residents. Tenya came off very kind and motherly at first, and upon superficial contact you may assume that she is a very loving, empathetic, caring woman. I had taken a liking to her upon meeting, and found her to be very professional--but then the first red flag waved itself on my second day there.

She had come down to speak with me, as I had a maintenance issue down in my room that she had to take a look at. After she was done resolving the problem, she got up to leave and accidentally dropped her keys. I leaned down to pick it up--and I notice a Narcotics Anonymous keytag hanging from it. She gave me this look of horror, grabbed the keys from be abruptly, thanked me passively, and then left.

I tried to shrug this off. It's hard to understand red flags when you see the world through rose-colored glasses. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that perhaps if she is a recovering addict, then she is making efforts to change...but something about her reaction and energy in that very moment seemed off. I had unveiled part of the beast that she was desperately trying to hide. But I brushed it off and went about my business.

I settled for all of this as I was originally only renting this place out temporarily for 2 weeks, as an airbnb. I had already put down a deposit on an application for an apartment with a roommate and I was only waiting until it was ready for me to move into.

I had befriended the other tenants in the house during my stay, who were also working creatives in the industry. We got along very well but Tenya, having noticing this, offered for me to rent out a room on a longterm basis. I kindly refused, as I had somewhere else I had committed to. She then used a very heavy, 1980s-esque cold-closing sales rebuttal and insisted on me staying. She also offered me a much better deal than what I would be getting at the other apartment. Her energy was very strong, powerful, and persuasive. I later ended up cancelling my plans to move into the other place and decided to sign a 6 month lease with her.

As soon as I paid her money, and signed the lease, the facade faded, and the layers to the onion of the beast, or so to speak, was unveiled, one by one...

She began coming over everyday. This is illegal in the state of Georgia, a landlord must give 24 hour notice before stepping foot in the property. She demanded that this was "her house, it is her right". That we only rented the rooms, and that she had the right to the common areas. She would come over all the time and get in our business--she would send us group texts throughout the day demanding our attention constantly. She would take our food and waters and then claim that this was her right too, or blame it on someone else who lived in the house. Many times she would even go as far as claiming that perhaps there was a thief who had broken in here because the other day she could've sworn a stanger had come knocking on our front door.

She would start disputes between the members of the household for no given reason. She would force us to drop eveyrthing we were doing during our busy work days and have us respond to her desperate pleas for attention. She would force us to come to her "mandatory house meetings" and try to make us negotiate the terms of our lease (which is illegal), and try to tell us that we had to limit the usage of electricity, air conditioning (which she all agreed to including in our rate for rent). She ended up putting a lock on our AC box so that we wouldn't have a choice. The house was either freezing cold or scorching hot afterwards and she would not let us change this.

She would constantly claim the house is messy and blame it on different tenants of the household though part of the agreement in our lease was for her to clean the house once a week. Instead, she would use "cleaning" as an excuse to come over almost every other day.

When we pointed out that this was unprofessional, she would spin into her narcissistic rage. When I called my father about this, and asked for him to speak to her...I kid you not, she tried to tell my father that I was crazy and simply imagining these things, and that perhaps I had mental health issues and needed to see a doctor.

A new tenant moved in within my last couple of months living there. He was fresh out of college as well, 23 years old, out of work and needed a place to stay while he figured his life out. He had happened to have a history of seizures, but it had been dormant for quite a while. Tenya found him as a new oppurtunity to gain a new narcissistic supply. She started involving him in all of her business and he became her prime golden target.

His seizures began to resurface soon afterwards. The more havoc she came in and created, the more regular his seizures became.

One day, one of our roommates went to knock on his door and we found him dead. The police were called and HASMAT had to come in and clean the house.

This costed Greg and Tenya thousands and thousands of dollars. After this happened, their demeanors greatly shifted. They became very cold and uncompromising. Tenya decided to quit the operation. Mr Pierce was forced to take over property management, but because he was in NY there wasn't much contact that was made with him. The other tenants moved out immediately. They had convinced them to leave. It seemed like at this point, they just didn't want to deal with us anymore. They had lost too much money and I'm sure that they had had plans to renovate the house completely and raise the rates to make up for the money they lost.

They kept trying to convince me to leave, but I had nowhere to go and I was on a 6 month lease. Every conversation I had with them, they would try to figure out a way to talk me into leaving and breaking my lease.

One day, I come home to see that my entire basement sublet had flooded. There was water all over the floor, and had nearly destroyed a good fourth of my professional equipment. I called the Pierces immediately, hoping to resolve this issue. They told me they would send someone over, but no one ever showed up. This continued for 5 days. By the fifth day, the basement was flooded above 3 inches and I had to evacuate and move all of my belongings upstairs. By then I was furious, and I called Greg Pierce once again. I even gave him the name and number to a plumber. He claimed he was going to call him, but never did.

I eventually got fed up with this waiting game and evacuated. The toxins from the sewage water was really beggining to harm my lungs. My health was at serious risk and I coud not fight any longer. I could hardly breathe nor think clearly. I didn't know who to call for help--I didn't have many freinds in Georgia.

Gregory and Tenya ended up throwing away the belongings I had left there. They had promised me that they would keep it safe for me until I was ready to pick it up, as part of the agreement for me to leave and break the lease, but they broke this blatantly with no remorse. They also refused to return the deposit that they had agreed to return in the lease I originally signed with them. Not only that, but they made a point to even attempt to blame me for the pipes breaking, which I'm sure if they attempted to explain that to a judge in court, they would get laughed at. Their claim was absolutely illogical and a clear indication that they will do whatever they can to refuse to take responsibility for what they are obligated to do in their position in their business.

They still to this day are renting out this house. According to Greg Pierce, Tenya left the state, to "help the hurricane victims down in Florida", and a new property manager (who is another close friend or family member of theirs) is running it now.

I am writing this review not as an attempt to seek revenge, but so that I can warn all potential future tenants.

If you look up this property online, you will see that the original amount they bought this property for, and its actual net worth is much lower than what they are attempting to charge for rent. Not to mention, the house was never in living condition--considering all the bugs, the heat/AC malfunctioning, etc. It was no surprise that the pipes eroded and flooded. I wouldn't be surprised if this had always been a recurring problem.

Not only did I suffer great physical and materialistic liabilities during this, I am still, to this day, recovering from the torture, psychological abuse, and gaslighting that Tenya and Gregory inflicted upon me and the other tenants. The way they inflicted this damage was very slow and painful--as cluster B personalities tend to enjoy taking their time in ripping people apart and then standing back to admire the extent of their accomplishment.

For the sake of not just your physical and financial health, but for also your mental health, please, do not rent from these owners. They are psychopaths and they do not care about the regards of others. Everything is a game to them. Their intent in life is to lie, cheat, con, and steal for the sake of getting ahead for themselves.

I couldn't speak in complete sentences for an entire 2 months after this happened. I was in shellshock--I couldn't communicate with others without judging myself, because Tenya had broken me down into pieces and had psychoanalyzed my every move and behavior as if there was something wrong with me.

Emotional abuse is a very real thing, and they are masters of it. They will psychologically break you down and have you leaving confused and broken.

These people are sick and need help. But I cannot help them. I can only write this in hopes that I can help warn the community and anyone who ever contemplates on involving themselves with them in the future. Please, for the sake of your financial well being but also your mental health, please do not rent from these owners.

When I first booked this place I thought I had gotten lucky - It was advertised as place for 3 people it, had good reviews and the pictures made the place look bright and comfortable with a nice looking garden - and it was right next to the beach and market. AirBnB also said it was a rare find so I went with it. Asaf contacted me quickly and approved the reservation but in his initial message said that the place would be small for 3 guests and that he would put out a foldable ikea bed for the third person. Realizing this was not what we were looking for, I asked if we could cancel (it had been less than 24 hours since I had booked it) but he responded nastily that if I were to cancel that I would only receive 50% of my money back and would only receive the rest if he was able to book another guest for the dates I had selected. We decided to keep the place rather than lose the money.

When I finally got to the place I discovered it was actually a one room apartment. The pictures did not accurately depict the state of the room and I realized that he had used a mirror to make the room look larger and hide a corner wall. The paint was peeling off the walls and the bed had a bunch of stuff under it so we couldn't even put our luggage there to free up some extra space on the floor. There was only one queen sized bed in addition to the Ikea mattress (that we had to set up and clean up every day and night); simply put, this place not meant for 3 guests. The location is good and the garden is nice (mostly because it was a place to escape the house) but has a lot of stray cats that hangout on the furniture and try to go into the house at every chance.

On the second day the outside gate got jammed so we had to jump over the fence every time to leave and to get back in - with all of our stuff. Even with both my friends helping we could not fix it. I contacted Asaf and after some back and forth to prove the gate could not be fixed on my own he got someone to come fix it after only 2 days. While I appreciate the salesmanship effort on Asaf’s part, and while the location is good, this was not at ALL what I was hoping for in my four days in Tel Aviv. This is a place meant for one person NOT THREE and borderline NOT 2 people unless you are a close couple. Unfortunately, I could not be more disappointed with this property and I will most likely be contacting Airbnb for some of my money back.

The owner of this illegal AIRBNB is causing our HOA to spend thousands of dollars in legal fees trying to stop her. Our HOA specifically restricts renting your guest house, even to neighbors. Daily renting is prohibited. You c an rent your house but it has to be a t lease a 6 month lease and the HOA board has to have their names and personal info.

Ms. Spears excuse it is a "luxury pool house" she calls it on her airbnb website home page. Fact is that it is a guest house. Her other excuse is the money she gets from it is not a rental fee. SERIOUSLY!!

Complaints to AIRBNB DO NOT WORK!! This horrible individual has refused to stop for almost a year now causing stress and anger in our beautiful neighborhood which she uses AS A SELLING POINT.

Next thing she does is drag in a huge seaworthy commercial shipping container that you commonly see on railroad cars and makes that into a livable space. Also PROHIBITED IN OUR CC&rS!

Please do not rent this guest house. I'd imagine most AIRBNB owners are trustworthy individuals however this one is not after this experience I will NEVER USE AIRBNB!

Besides that she rents it so cheap, it is cheaper than miracle mile where prostitutes and drug pushers hang. We don't know who is spending the night next to us, could be a child molester as owners do not do a background check. Trailer trash lady has moved in and lied repeatedly to our board members.

I'm and airbnb host since 2011 there had been many times that airbnb did not pay me because guest issue after check in.

as now. this is my last situacion that recently happened.

i did a check in for a guest on 8/10/2017 everything went fine as usually . but one week before after she left the aparment airbnb charge me the total amount back on her stay. i call them and i ask why. the key manager told me that the lady send him pictures of the apartment was not clean and that she have to leave to a hotel 3 days after check in..

i told them how she is going to say the apartment was not clean 3 days after check in , she maybe dirty the apartment herself took some pictures and ask for her money back ,, and how can you aggree on that i told the manager.

he told me there is nothing he can do. that i get 0.00 I ask them to review the situacion and i at least should get half of the money becuase she stay at the apartment for 3 days. think that i don't believe becuase they also don't want to show me proof of the hotel reciept that she say she have to go to. As i dont show up for check out only for check in. i don't really can told if she stay the whole time or she went to a hotel. so ask airbnb to give me proof ot the hotel receipt and they told thay dont do that either. so I end up Renting my apartment for 0.00 they took the whole $674.00 dollars.

THAT WHEAT I CALL AIRBNB RIPPING OFFF THEIR HOST..

We have used AirBnB several times before. with few problems. Your stay all depends on the honesty of your host.

AirBnB (and their dishonest host Andrée ) breached a contract to rent for a month. I live in Oakland, CA. My wife was visiting our daughter in Portland, OR while she was to give birth to her first child.

Before we booked with Andrée, we asked questions and reached an agreement. We booked for a month with the agreement in writing. The contract called for an an incense free apartment. When my wife got there, she was told another renter had burned incense in the apartment. My wife tried one night but the smell was too strong and she had to leave. Both Andrée and AirBnB refused a complete refund minus one night charge. They both said it wasn’t their problem. They wanted to rip us off for half our money.

And then AirBnB prevented us from giving Andrée a bad review.

This is a clear case of breach of contract. AirBnB’s policy is to ignore US law and promote themselves by favoring their hosts. As it turned out, one of our twenty Portland relatives had bought a used couch from Andrée. The couch broke the very next day and andrée did nothing about that either. You have been warned.

We rented a house from Airbnb from December 20 to the 26th in Long Beach California. We paid $1200 for five nights. It was advertised as a beautiful home with heat. When we got there it was daytime in one of the curtains was ripped off the bedroom window that faced the street where our daughter was scheduled to sleep. Needless to say her daughter had to sleep on the couch. 30 hours later she came to fix the drape only after expressing how disappointed we were that we had to as Kim Ward the property owner to fix your own problem. When I got there the shower curtains were in the dryer and she told me I would have to put those up. She also told us that she left two little space heaters in the house because the house can get chilly at night and that it was a cold house. Kim Ward also told us that plugging in more than two heaters would constantly blow the fuses. As the night went on the house got very cold in the heaters ran 24 hours a day in the house never got warmer than 54° please see my photo.

The master bedroom had a cracked glass window that constantly leaked freezing cold air into the bedroom. There was frost inside the house and the The floor furnace that no longer worked. We are not sure how she got away with this being that it is a habitability issue in the city of Long Beach, California. We had to reset the fuse circuit breaker over half a dozen times and we froze the whole week we were there. We called around and could not find anything else available. After our trip we made it home to San Francisco bay area and reported it to Airbnb in which Kim Ward agreed to reimburse us for $500 for the headaches that we Endured during our stay at that awful property. Airbnb blew us off at Natalie that they refused to post our negative review that we gave to that property and this lady is sitting there Kim Ward by the way, with a 4.5 star rating when her house is nothing more than a ghetto rat slum house in the middle of a very transitional drug and crime area. Airbnb should be ashamed of themselves for varying such a negative review that was accurate and for not allowing us to be reimbursed for a portion of our stay. We have called code enforcement with Long Beach and they are investigating the property as operating illegally in California due to habitability violations and we are also following up with a small claim for reimbursement of the monies we were promised by Kim Ward for reimbursement. Anyone that comes in contact with this property or Airbnb my recommendation is to pass, move on, and find another company that is much better to work with because these two people are awful.

Beware of this "Luxury Villa " rental by this individual. He is a creep and joins you for your entire stay since he is just a lonely miserable soul! House is Full of lizards, unclean and not maintained at all. Airbnb website allows no negative reviews on any hosts to be shown and are a joke of a company. We paid almost $3000 to stay a few nights and when we arrived it was totally unacceptable so we never stayed even one night.

We called the host to cancel and he said no problem we would be refunded at once. That was last July and still have not received a dime. Iski is a liar and a cheat and a criminal hiding in Philippinnes. His property is also full of cobra snake as stated by his daughter. There is no internet service and TV is broken. House was full of flies which attracts lizards into the house. BEWARE of this rental since once they have your credit card the feel free to charge what they want. Iski actually expects us to pay for his hotel in another city while he was away on business!!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! Iski is a scumbag who enjoys ripping people off!

Let’s start it all over because I think Airbnb don’t have any idea about the absurdness of what’s happening.

Airbnb said that: “Airbnb really appreciates what I’ve been doing to our guests as one of our most valued Superhosts”. Let’s see if these are just empty words or they really have any meaning.

My main concern, as I believe is Airbnb as well, is about our guests. I’m so committed to them that I have refused a great deal to sell my property because the buyer (an investor) didn’t want to honor my reservations.

So I think Airbnb can see we’re a not talking about money or penalties, we are talking about PEOPLE.

I really don’t care about how much money I’m gonna lose if I cancel the reservations, but I DO CARE about my guests. There are a lot of PEOPLE out there that trusted their vacation dreams, their dearest family moments, their leisure time after years of hardworking to us.

At the moment I’m writing, I have more than 20 people that trusted in me and paid in advance to Airbnb more than US$17,000.

All the sudden, Airbnb started to withhold 30% of all these future reservations which totals almost $ 5,500 without previous notice. Why are you doing this? What’s changed?

I can only imagine that it’s because my Taxpayer information was not informed on my profile but it’s already there. When I first listed my property, I didn’t have a Tax Id and when I got it to be able to fill my tax returns of 2015, I forgot to update it in the website.

I’m completely compliant with my Federal, State and County taxes and I’m not supposed to be withhold 30% of my rentals. If Airbnb needed, I could send Airbnb all the receipts.

And do Airbnb know what’s worse? Airbnb is not just wrongly withholding 30% of my rentals but you’re taking the supposedly due amount from future payouts out of my present payouts. It’s ILLEGAL!!!

I didn’t receive the payouts from the upcoming reservations yet but Airbnb did. So, Airbnb CAN’T take these “tax withholdings” of something that I didn’t receive out of my payouts.

I don’t know if Airbnb realized but it’s what happening right now. It’s ABSURD!!!

For example, take these 2 payouts (Rayne and Johnny) that I’ve been complaining about.

I was supposed to receive $ 1,077 from R. and $175 from J. Airbnb have already paid me with the tax withholding of 30%. So, I had to have received $744 from R. and $121 from J. but I have no deposit in my bank account because in your system I “owe” more than $ 5,000 of tax withholding and you’re using this credit to compensate that.

It’s INSANE!!! Completely NONSENSE!!!

Let me repeat it to be clear - Airbnb can’t make me pay for something that Airbnb earned, NOT ME.

Considering the quantity of future reservations I have, I would only see any money in the middle of December. Beside the fact that the 30% of tax withholding is UNDUE, of course, I can’t continue to keep up with the expenses of the property without getting any money from the reservations. It’s ILLEGAL!!!

Just to let eveyone know, I booked a vacation spot through Airbnb and was totally scamed. It was for a house boat in Charleston. I have all of the proof that they scammed me and Airbnb did not back me up. days priro to my visit, I became ill and in the hospital. I asked if it was posiable to change the dates. The owner agreed to change them for me. He provided me a date. The same day I responded that I accept the new date. He did not confirm. The next day I sent a message asking if he confirmed the date. He repsonded that evening, that he made a mistake on the date and provided me another date. The next morning I recevied a message stating that he did not hear back from me that he assumed i was going to continue with the original date. I immedatly responded that I would like the new date set and he never responded. The next day he sent a message saying that i was pretty much screwed. I reached out to Airbnb and they also denied my money back. This really BAD business. I even have all of the e-mails and he NEVER said I was not getting my money back. Total BS. I will NEVER USE AIRBNB. shame on your and your company

Airbnb illegal boarding house is located at Brooklyn, NY 11234. It is a two-story family home with three bedrooms, a basement, garage and three illegal apartments at the side and rear of the home. Kate Albert and Anna Solanova are overcrowing this home and utilizing it as an Airbnb illegal hotel against city regulations. Literally the entire home is occupied by folding beds, from the entryway to 10 beds in the living room, to beds in the basement. It resembles a red cross disaster relief shelter.

I had the displeasure of staying in this home for the summer, as I had initally paid for two months to stay on a folding bed in the living room. When I arrived, I discovered that I would be sleeping with 8 other people. It was blazing hot in the summertime and the place had no air conditioning. She warns in her advertising that the place is does not have a cleaning lady, and it a private home, however, this does not prepare you for the level or dirt and disgust.

The fecculent conditions are simply indescribable.

In addtion to this, the home is riddled with violence and it is impossible to sleep at night due to constant brawls that pour into the living room. Coupled with the frequent and regular police visits, it is even more impossible to fucntion or sleep. Kate was always constantly drunk and Anna was constantly walking around naked in front of both guests and her child, much to the chargin of those who were expecting a higher standard.

I complained about the conditions and was initially threatened that if I said anything else, I would be summarily evicted from the premesis. Kate and Anna made it very clear that they would make me leave without any sort of refund, and proudly stated they had done it before to others. After another arrest due to a brawl, I once again stated to them that this was unacceptable. Their response was to toss my property on the floor and tell me that if I did not leave, they would call thugs to physically harm me. I left simply due to the fact that this place was not worth any further trouble.

I contacted airbnb, and they were extremely passive about the whole issue. I was only owed a small amount, so did not push the matter. Another woman did get a refund from airbnb only after hiring a lawyer to deal with them. Long story short, you should never use Airbnb because there is no protection for guests, they just shrug their shoulders and tell you to try to work it out even if you are facing physical harm.

Boy did i find out the hard way how they rip you off.

I went to their site and found what i wanted to reserve. It clearly stated to reserve that booking and right below it states they will not charge your credit card. So i requested the reservation. It asked for my credit card information and I filled that out knowing that I do that with hotels. I get an email from airbnb stating that they are attempting to charge my card for the entire stay. I send an email to them and the host asking about that. I received no response from either. I sent another email and got nothing so I thought I would cancel it then. My trip wasnt until October. I cancelled it and sent an email explaining that I did not have the funds to pay upfront and was unaware that I needed to do so. It was also ignored. They continued to try and charge the amount until they succeeded and then I bounced my rent check. They expect you to pay the entire stay upfront unlike a hotel where you can reserve and pay when you get there. When i found out they were charging me for the entire stay, I sent numerous emails to the host explaining that this is my first experience and that I was not prepared to have over $1000 taken out of my account. The host "Mark" never returned my emails. They said they would credit me 1/2 of it since it was a strict refund policy. I do not agree with this at all.
