Paid for an emergency service A/C call since the freon seemed to be a little low - (running well, but cooling barely keeping up) suggesting a repeat of a slow leak I had 2 yrs prior in the copper piping attached to outdoor compressor. Service tech was very vague and misrepresented the current freon pressure. I pushed him to check for leaks with the detector, but he ignored me.
I didn't get the truth about the pressure being slightly below minimum until he had charged the system with $500 worth of freon without my consent. My system was in need of replacing - so if he had been honest with me, I would NOT have paid for a recharge and went straight to a replacement machine.
I asked for a partial refund for the freon cost - or at least a service call refund to make up for the first tech rushing to sell me a $500 freon charge for a machine with a leak - but the company refused.
To make things worse, the first tech overfilled the system ( a rookie mistake) and caused everything to stop working. Another service call was made the very next day where finally, a knowledgeable tech told me the system was overfilled and I had a freon leak at the condensor coils - a very pricey repair.
Now that the decision was made to replace the A/C system instead of repairing it, I got several estimates for a replacement. Air Around the clock was by far the highest estimate for the same exact install by $1200.
I should have checked Yelp and Google reviews before I paid for an emergency call and got a $500 freon charge that I didn't need because BOTH review sites show Air Around the Clock as very unreliable for repairs and very expensive with constant upcharging attempts to milk all the money they can get.
My experience was proof that AATC is the worst company you can choose for A/C service.
Just to confirm the bad reports on this air around the clock. Yes, sleazy. Obviously co. That could not care less about service or anything else except maybe cheating you out of a buck. I saw a service truck come up to a red light to make a right turn. Never stopped for oncoming traffic that had a green arrow AND THE RIGHT OF WAY!
This AAC driver just pulled out in front of a vehicle making a legal left with arrow and needing to go to the right lane to go to parking lot. Vehicle blew horn. Did this SOC driver care? Pulled right out, running the red and could have caused a collision. I write this so you know, someone as uncaring as this (and wreckless) you DO NOT WANT to service anything, let alone let in your house. No way. Could have crashed into a driver on the road.
Air Around The Clock Since the employee has moved into my mobile home i rented it has been burglarized code violations illegal Electric Etc it's a nightmare you hire this company you're asking for the same misery.
they pulled up with their big box truck unloaded their furniture and life as I knew it changed all of my yard ornaments lawn ornaments are gone while I was in the hospital having surgery my bicycles were stolen I went back to work and my home was burglarized all of my electronics were stolen.
Im disabled i lived there for 2 years never had a problem until this companys trucks pulled up with thier employees and their furniture NOW i am afraid to go home.
On April 14 I paid air around the clock $485 for a three-year maintenance plan this evening The AC breaks down so I called Air around the clock they said it's after hours it'll be $150 charge to come out I agreed. A technician comes out he tells me he has to replace the dryers on the AC unit outside unit. The technician recharge the system stating that that should keep me cool until the following day when they would return and complete the repair on the AC unit. He stated the additional repair would be another $425 I said OK. He then asked me for $575. I told him the company said it was $150 for the work performed this evening I said I would pay him the additional money when the work was performed the next day he said he needed payment in full I said I'm not paying for something you have not done. Nor would anybody pay for work that has not been performed it's just common sense not to mention there's nothing in their contract that states that I have to pay for the work that has not been performed. He then stated if I did not pay him he was going to let the refrigerant back out of the system stating that it is company policy as I stated before there's nothing in the contract that states any such thing. Well he did just that he went back outside and let all the Refrigerant out of the system. On August 14 they came out and did routine maintenance on the AC system stating everything was fine with the unit. My argument here is they wanted me to pay for work that had not been performed I don't know of any company that conducts business in that fashion. I will no longer conduct business with air around the clock they practice deceptive trade practices. I would not recommend them to anyone
they are rude, disrespectful. even their supervisor brian (no last name as he refuses to give it to me) was rude and disrespectful. all i ask is they actually do the work i paid them to do.
i thought possibly speaking with a supervisor would be a good experience in customer service, wrong again!
as for their work, what work... they were at the house for a few minutes, told me what they thought was wrong. which did not fix the issue and when i call them back the same day to let them know that was not the issue they state they will be charging me again for anything they do. when i asked why i was charged in the first place since they did not fix anything and what he thought was obviously incorrect the supervisor told me i did not know what i was talking about and the first charge was fair and a second visit the same day would be a new charge even though the issue was not fixed
hire them if you want a terrible company that will talk to you with disrespect and try to screw you over
ADDENDUM - the following day they sent out their senior technition Mark who actually too, apart the unit and found the problem. however when he called to get pricing from Brian the supervisor from yesterday he was told "just write down you found nothing wrong to cover ourselves" told him to not fix anything. I have cameras on the home that recorded all of this! He actually told me well there are some supervisors that earn it and some that marry the owners daughter. He actually refused to fix what he found wrong because the supervisor told him to just leave, and of course they kept my money!!!!
