In January 2017 I contacted Maytag-1-866-698-2538 to request service on my Maytag washer. They set me up for a service call from a company called Appliance Care of Texas-1-210-812-5575. A service technician came out to my home and diagnosed the problem He told me I needed a new lid to my washer and the base that the lid sits on. I inquired as to how much this would cost. He called Maytag and they told me it would be cheaper to buy the extended warranty for $350.00 so I did. When the technician left my home he told me he would call me when the parts came in. In February I was called and told the parts were in. I scheduled an appointment to have them put on my washer. When the technician got to my house the parts were all wrong. My washer is a metallic gray and the top he brought was white and he didn"t even have the second part-the base. He called Maytag again and they said they would have to reorder the parts. In March I got a call telling me the new parts had come in. Another service appointment was set and that was for April 6th. When the service man arrived at my house the second time the lid was still the wrong lid and could not be installed and he didn't even have the base part. I learned yesterday that the base part to my washer was no longer available and now three months have passed and my washer is still not fixed and AIG has my money. They knew when they took my warranty money that the part was not available. They tried to stick a white lid on a damaged base and thought that I would accept this. They have my $350.00 warranty money and I am requesting that back. They are liars and thieves and they need to be stopped. My washer was purchased in 2013 for $1100.00. I find it hard to believe that the base has been discontinued in that length of time. I think they realized the parts to repair were going to cost way more than the price of the warranty. Now I must shop for a washer and I can assure you it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool.
I believe the repair people they come out to fix the appliance only gets paid if they side with AIG. We have had the same parts put into the frig 3 to 4 times and yet they will not give us a new refrigerator. They are a rip off company. Do not buy their warranty from Whirlpool. Will never buy an appliance that has AIG as their warranty company. Beware!!!!
Refrigerator purchased and after 3 months, the refrigerator would not freeze food. I lost massive amount of food in frig. They kept replacing different parts each time they came to fix it as to not have the same problem 3 times in a row. That is what the warranty covers.
Once we got down to repairing something twice, the next technician came out and repair something different. Again, wouldn't work. I feel the repair people they hire only go along with what AIG tells them to. This is just a horrible company!
Now we are stuck with the lemon and will have to just purchase a new frig ourselves. I will never buy whirlpool or any brand associated with AIG again.
I purchased a warranty on a wash machine through Whirlpool and they sold me an extended warranty on 7/24/17. I have called AIG 4 times to get a copy of the warranty. they assured me that it was being sent. it is n0w 11/27/17 and I still have not received a copy. The service department is atrocious! Each call requires at least a 25 minute wait on hold. Today I have waited 40 minutes with no one picking up and am still on hold. Whirlpool refuses to intervene although they took the money for the warranty. Whirlpool had best find another company as this one is not doing the job!
