This Company was unauthorized to solicit New York State Residential Mortgages as per a settlement agreement with the New York State Department of Financial Services in November of 2014 .They also violated New York State Business law.They were found to be in violation from 2008 to 2011 this company did in fact originate a multitude of HECM loans as per The Hud web site wich has a spread sheet of all loans originated in New York as well as other States .These loans target seniors .The name they used while originating these loans was Consumer Equity and web site was consumerequity .com not the business name listed in The New York State Division of Corporations. There are guidelines that need to be followed pertaining to equity in a home and if it is in the best interest of the senior to obtain one .This company represents itself to be reverse mortgage speciliast.I find it hard to believe they can specialize in anything while violating the guidelines set forth for them to do business in New York City and state as well as for an FHA insured mortgage.The name change made it very difficult to track down information on this company .Deceptive adds and deceptive business practices misleading consumers in a material way .Violating its statutory obligations as a registered mortgage loan originator .This company has recently closed which makes it a little more difficult to track down.difficult but not impossible.
Wrote a reverse mortgage for my parents home with misrepresentations,forged signature(s) and grossly inflated home appraisal. They wrote this mortgage when they were sanctioned by the New York State Dept. of Financial Services and had authority taken from them to operate in the State of New York.
