This entity contacted me by mail in Dec 2022 --- and interestigly--without identifying me by legal name-- to pay for alleged car repair damages for one of their alleged clients allegedly in Florida.
Sent me a package of fraudulent poor quality B&w pictures and fraudulent "repair bills" for their alleged "insured party".
Funny, let alone any alleged car accident, I've NEVER EVEN BEEN in Florida.
Looks like that "company" is violating state and Federal laws, among under existing RICO statutes.
My attorney said: "dont even engage with them". And even though their burden of (any) proof has undoubtedly not been satisfied, YOU definitely don't want to make any accidental/unintentional comments that could somehow be construed to be a futore obligation on your part.
It appears they have engaged with others in my state.
Accordingly, I am filing complaints and documentation with the our State Attorney General office and the Seattle office of the Federal Bureu of Investigation.
My daughter had a accident in a private property drive thru while learning driving this happened 03 31 2021 my car seems to have the worse damage. Come to find out my insurance lapsed months and months later I get a letter in mail from afni saying I owe 13,400 wondering if this is ligit.
I got a report in my account with credit seasme saying i owe them $350.00 when i know the bill was paid off plus I had to ask credit sesasmeon the address this bill came from i also do believe that i have paid the bill off and did that a few years ago
I closed my DirecTV account in April. In May, I started receiving calls from ANFI stating that I owed $60.23 to DirecTV. The caller asked for immediate payment over the phone. I refused and gathered as much information from the caller as I could. After being on hold, the caller gave me an account number. I called DirecTV who did not have a record of that account.
There was an account for my name under a different number and I was told the account was up to date and no past dues. Again, I recieved calls from ANFI demanding I pay them money or they would ruin my credit. I disputed the debt and asked for a mailed invoice. I was told that they don't do that. They are only to collect payment now. Again I refused, disputed the debt, and asked for a mailing of information. I have yet to receive anything.
AFNI has posted a bill on my credit report stating I owe AT&T $98.00 but AT&T has no record of it or me having an account past due. And when I did have an account I had cancelled it with no bills or fees due.
Subrogation Department Maunyoh W. Mitchell I was recently in a car accident with the other driver being at fault there's a police report on the accident there was no damage to the other drivers car my cars front end was completely pulled off during the impact we both exchange informations and waited for the cops to come the cops came we each told our story and they ended up citing the other driver with the ticket I ended up filing a claim against her insurance company which is Progressive couple days into the claim I received a call from Brittany Dixon a progressive representative saying that the claim cannot go through due to how my car was hit during the accident and that there was no proof and it's my word against hers so I let it go and decided to fix my car myself I recently received a letter from Afni Subrogation Department saying I owe $728.50 in damages which is not true her car had no damage if so maybe a little paint chipped off still doesn't explain the price I found out at the time of the accident the car I was driving in the accident did not have any insurance on it at the time how am I responsible for this if I was not at fault in the accident ?
I purchased my iPhone directly from Apple not AT&T I want them to withdraw the amount of 340.35. They reduced it to 170.18 but I am not paying them the amount is in dispute since I did not incur those charges I have been paying AT&T every month for over five years then the bills were to high to they convinced me to reduce the type of service then after I did that they billed me even higher so I dropped them to metro pcs AT&T is terrible
I was bringing my lunch from the gas station back to work in Phoenix on my bike. I happened to be riding on the sidewalk on the left hand sidewalk, which is legal in Arizona and also in Phoenix. I was coming across an exit for a business and someone in a BMW was exiting, but she was supposed to stop before exiting. So I kept riding, but the I saw she wasn't stopping so I put the brakes on and tried to seerve out of the way. But it was to late and she hit me and I flew in the air and landed on the ground. I had some cuts and bruises but no broken bones. My bike suffered some damage. The front wheel was dented and some other damage. The accident dented her BMW. Anyway, I filed a police report an hour or so after the accident and they never said I did anything wrong. Then I went to the urgent care to make sure I was OK and luckily I was. I was then contacted by her insrance company, American Family and I was offered a settlement. They gave me a check for $1200 for my injuries and bicycle damage. I had to sign something saying that the matter was settled and I wouldn't get any further compensation. Which was fine with me.
Several months later I got a letter from AFNI Subrogation Department on behalf of American Family Insurance saying that they believe the accident was my fault and they were entitled to collect some or all of the money paid by AF. They said I owed them more than $5,700. And if I didn't pay them my state's Attorney General would suspend my driver's license(As if the AG would personally be involve in such matters). I called the number to try to dispute their claim. They told me that the accident was my fault and I needed to pay all the money. I told them it couldn't have been my fault because I was on a bike. They didn't seem to know that when they pulled up my case number. They said it was because I was riding on wrong side of the road. I told them I was on the sidewalk and that is not illegal. They didn't seem to know what the law said.
After, I researched it some more to make sure I wasn't mistaken. And sure enough there is no law in Arizona saying a bicycle can't ride on the sidewalk and if your are riding on a sidewalk it doesn't have to be with traffic. You only have to ride in the direction of traffic when ridding in the street. I called them again to dispute it and I accused them of trying to extort money from me and I eventually hung up. I asked a friend who works for a prosecutor and she said that letter was bullshit and they're just lying and they can't do anything about it. It was just as I thought. After my experience with this company I would believe most complaints against them over what AFNI says.
Received a letter in the mail stating that afni subrugation dept is contacting me on behalf of chubb insurance stating that I am liable for payments that chubb insurance made to its policyholder as a result of a loss. chubb insurance believes that they are entitled to recover some or all of this money from me. the balance is $12,519.94. be advised that the balance may increase if additional payments are made by chubb insurance. i reside in a co-op and have co-op insurance. my downstairs neighbr is named rachel weiss. if i had insurance coverage notify afni. if i do not have coverage contact the office to discuss the further options
Afni inc. Is attempting for the second time to extort money from me for debts that do not exist. Further, they violate the fair credit reporting act by not sending a legally required validation of the debt within five days of the original collection letter. In fact they do not, again as legally required, validate debts at all.
They attempted last year to extort over $2000 from me alleging i owed for an accident that did not exist, allegedly in san francisco when i was in my residence in ecuador. They offered to "help me" by accepting a lower fee to "make this go away." this is also illegal and clearly extortion, a felony.
The current alleged debt they are harrassing me for is an alleged debt to comcast for $198.22. I do not owe any money to comcast. I am in good standing with comcast and current with them in my payments, as i always was. Once again they are falsely and intentionally attempting to extort me by attempting to collect a debt that does not exist.
I advise everyone who is ever contacted by them for any reason to document their violations of the fair credit reporting act, attempts at extortion, and attempts to collect moneys that are not owed. I advise that in addition to you report them to law enforcement and consumer protection agencies, such as the federal trade commission.
Clearly from the extremely long list of reports here they are not an honest nor reputable company. On their website they do not even identify themselves as a collection agency. What does that tell you.
Do not pay them, unless you honestly owe the debt. They are liars, crooks, thieves and extortionists.
Afni is sending out fake or non-existing debt collections. They sent my wife 2 identical letters, saying that my wife own their client $8,500.00 resulted in a vehicle accident damage. My wife has never been involved in any accidents (even the last 7 years). The info they provided is completely clueless to us. We knew right away that it's a scam. They even threatened us. I think they're on drug. The government authorities need to take this business down before they scam more people.
My wife received a collections letter from afni in Bloomington, Illinois claiming she owes Direct TV almost $400.00. We currently do use Direct TV's services, this part is true, but we are in good standing with Direct TV. The company afni needs to be reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigations as they are criminally creating false collection reports of debts owed and trying to strongarm innocent people into paying Discounted Payment Offers, which they do not owe in a SCAM to collect money. I have also heard (don't quote me on this) that afni will also report to the credit-reporting agencies these false debts owed and ruin credit.
September 20, 2015 Here is a letter responding to threats to my son regarding allegations of being involved in MVA with a vehicle which was never even seen by my son.
The purpose of this communication with your company “AFNI” is to serve as documentation of this message:
Your company AFNI continues to accuse me of owing a debt alleging involvement in a Motor Vehicle accident with ______________.
Facts: I was never involved in a MVA with this person. The only involvement I have had with this individual was as follows:
I owned an automotive repair business from December 2013-January 2015. Mr. _____________hired our company to repair his vehicle. The vehicle was said to be a Subaru. The vehicle was said to be needing transport from the local Subaru dealer to the automotive repair company for repair. The vehicle was not retrieved on the first or second attempts. The first attempt failed due to the Subaru dealers requiring authorization to release vehicle in writing from the owner. The owner was contacted the issue rectified giving permission for the vehicle to be transported. When the employee attempted the second time to secure and transport vehicle for repair, he was told the said Subaru vehicle was “missing” and unable to be located at that time. Multiple attempts were made to contact the owner to return deposit (200 $) with no success. Since then the business is now permanently closed.
Since this incident the local police approached me as the owner regarding the “missing vehicle”. No incriminating proof of involvement in the missing vehicle exists. I have never seen the vehicle and have never started work on this vehicle. I am being falsely accused of involvement in a MVA with this vehicle. I have no information as to the whereabouts of this vehicle or as to the alleged MVA involvement.
Stop harassing and threatening me with report to the State Department with risk of revocation of driver’s license.
This person is falsely reporting being involved in a motor vehicle accident with me because this simply did not occur.
If you continue to harass me with threatening letters I will be forced to seek legal representation/relief.
I receive d a letter saying that I owe at&t $106 This is an old account over a year old this was resolved by at and t in the month of July 2015. I didn't owe in the first place. Ok this is a second collection agency trying to get $106 .I contacted at&t and the company is saying that I don't owe I currently have service with them If at&t didn't send any information about my bill how come they keep contacting me, they say that they will settle for half the amount.

AT&T bill from Afni
Afni wants me to pay a bill already paid to AT&T. they even quote a different account number they want paid.
What a scam. Should be shut down. will notify proper authorities and see if they can help rid the world of them.s
