So my truck was leaking oil bad, within 2 days I went through 10 quarts of oil. I live nearly an hour away from anything and I used more oil to drive to affordable auto repair in gaylord michigan to have my oil leak fixed. I told the man, Pat, that the leak was coming from the front main seal as I know a thing or two myself and I left it for him to look at. He called a day later and said he could see oil everywhere and told me that it looked like a $500 to $600 or more repair as there was also a coolant leak. I said no dont do anything and I would drive it home to do repair myself. showed up next day and he said it was $65...for what?? all he kept saying is " no its not the seal, you may think it is but I KNOW its something else. ". I know for a fact he didnt even have it in the air to inspect it because he would have discovered that what i said was correct. so what then, a $65 visual inspection fee??
I took my truck home and stated taking things apart and amazingly it was a bad rip in...wait for it...the front mail seal. oh and the coolant leak? completely seperate issue as it was leaking from the passenger port along the top exterior of the block, a gasket break leak. the man is a swindler, and will charge you $65 just to tell you there is something wrong. basically he took $65 for no work while I did the repairs for $15 for a front main seal and $7 for coolant stop leak. yes the stop leak is only temporary but as its the dead of winter right now I will hold off till spring to finish the repairs but those repairs I can take care of myself as that scam artist will never get my business again.
I thought this was a good company so I took my car in there because it broke down on the side of the road. They told me they could fix it . One day would go by and the owner Pat would call and say I needed this part and it would run so I okayed it than a few days later he would call and say I needed something else and it'll be fixed so I okayed it by the time I was done I was up to $4800 and the car still wasn't working. When I told him we no longer wanted to put any more money into it, he took the car out of his garage with the car taken apart without the hose clamps engine mounts or the fuel pump cover put back on and the car still wasn't running any different than when I took it in. I got five miles down the road and my Dad had to tow it the rest of the way home. The air conditioning was not charged when affordable auto said that they charged it and charged me $90 .I took it to the other shop they told me that I did not need any of those parts that affordable auto put on that all I had was a bad spark plug wire an a plugged catalytic converter. Also my drive shaft was bent. Please be aware of this company as they totally will rip you off and they will not put parts back on your car I really could not afford that much money and I really believed that they took advantage of me.
