We had a very unpleasant experience with a very negligent general contractor: ADJ Contracting and Development, Inc. located at: 17 E. Brooks North Las Vegas, NV 89030 Jovan Zec and Gayle Ivans own the company and we contracted them on October 12, 2015. We experienced problems with this company throughout the whole period of construction and work; from poor communication to negligent performance. This contractor is not about Quality work. Jovan simply ignores any comments regarding the quality of his performance. To serve as a warning and example for readers, below are some requests to fix construction defects, which we experienced with ADJ work, and here are their responses to them. As you can see, it is best to stay away from ADJ if you are looking for quality work to be performed of any kind.
REQUEST: Jovan, you installed sink cabinets in the processing room. Installer left all debris after plumbing installation and there are bolts and nuts and wood shavings all over. Please clean up after yourself.
RESPONSE: We are a general contractor, not a cleaning company. This is something that you or one of your staff members can perform.
REQUEST: There are gaps on both floors and along the stairwell sides that need to be sealed.
RESPONSE: This is an industrial warehouse. This was not a part of the scope of work. It is not a code violation and is only a cosmetic want.
REQUEST: Epoxy floors in all rooms need to be repainted due to damages and stains present after your workers continued to do work when the epoxy was finished.
RESPONSE: Unfortunately, this epoxy floor cost $7,000.00 with materials and labor. If you want to pay for a couple of epoxy kits, some of your team can perform this. However this is not obstructing you from opening for business.
REQUEST: All doors into and between rooms need to be adjusted. Neither of them closes shut.
RESPONSE: They closed properly the last time I walked through the property.
REQUEST: Wire sticks out from the concrete wall; nobody knows if it is live or not.
RESPONSE: I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
These are just a few examples of the kind of communication and treatment we the customers received from ADJ. They do the bare minimum and often times need to be babysat in their work to make sure that work is done as proposed and correctly up to compliance standards. Their project manager Juan Maya is very difficult to deal with and he has a power trip personality. IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION, HIRE ANOTHER FIRM TO GET THE JOB DONE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH ADJ CONTRACTING.
