Warning: If you see a client of Adirondack Insurance on the road, get out of their way! I was rear-ended while waiting at a traffic light. The police issued a ticket to the other driver and called medical professionals to check me out. I was a little foggy and shook up, but my car got the worst of it.
Within a few days, Adirondack Insurance Exchange (aka Tower Group International, LTD) called me to arrange an inspection of the damages to my car; they sent their own in-house inspector. Naturally, he gave me a quote that was lower than the quote made by actual repair shops that will do the work. So now I have a check for less than the amount required to repair the damage.
I called Adirondack and they told me that the repair shops can help me fight for a settlement closer to the actual cost of repairs if the repair shops are willing to send pictures to Adirondack and also report the sources of all their replacement parts and an accounting of their labor and other costs.
Unfortunately, repair shops are in the business of repairing things; they're not in the business of helping me not get screwed by Adirondack and so they won't jump through all those hoops before I hire them to do the repairs, which means I'll have to pay the difference and just hope that Adirondack will honor a quote that differs from their in-house quote after-the-fact.
I am forced to file a claim against the driver who hit me; the driver will rue the day they choose Adirondack Insurance Exchange.
