Complete SCAM!! Miles Davis made promise after promise before I signed a contract and gave him a deposit back in April. I told him that I needed the demo to be completed pronto, as the city is charging a fee of $375 a month due to it being a dangerous building, and he promised to get started in the next few weeks. Fast forward to July and the city building department gets in contact with me to inform me that if I don’t get the house knocked down in a timely manner, the city will hire a contractor on my behalf to have it demolished.
The director asks for Mr. Davis phone number and speaks with him personally. Mr. Davis informs the city department that he will get started in a few weeks. Not satisfied with the vague timeline, I press Mr. Davis to give me a start date and tells me Saturday 7/6. However, 7/6 comes and he still has not started, so I contact him on Monday 7/8 and at this point he is deploying different delay tactics. After going back and forth for a few more weeks, he finally ends all contact with me on 7/18. I have called, text, and email him but he has refused to answer me.
This contract turned out to be a complete scam, as everything he was telling me was a lie. I'm just so thankful that I only gave him a deposit of $1,000 and not the initial 50% of the cost he wanted upfront. It's unfortunate that I have to go through the process to file a lawsuit against him for a small amount, but if there is one thing I can't stand it's dishonest people. So, If I can save other people from getting scammed, then it's worth it to me.
