8/11/17 action air was called because ac was not working. I was advised of $69 service call. Tony came out and tried time fix system. He said it isn't fixable and I need a new system. He left me with bids of approximately $7000 each. Total shock. Stupidly I paid the service. A family member said they have a tech and will send him out. He was able to fix the system. I realized I actually paid $69 for a sales call. I am a senior female 76 years old and was definitely taken advantage of my age. And the unbelievable temperature in the house. Either Tony was too hot or too lazy or too incompetent to fix my ac that another tech was able to fix.
After doing business with this company for 10 years and paying for a yearly maintenance service, I called them in Dec 2015 after a/c was not cooling. tech came out and in 5 minutes found a burned out capacitor said it would be $208 also the unit needed some freon another $150 did not have much of a choice, also said there was a freon leak in the condensor in the attic without even going up there. Total bill $415 and was told to get ready to buy another complete unit. I felt like thus was a very high bill so I called another company who came out and said the part at the most should have been maybe $108 and the freon $50 also they checked for a leak in the sytem electronically at no charge. The tech said there is nothing wrong with this sytem and to be more careful in the future.
I called the Action office and complained to Joyce the manger she said she would look into it. A couple of weeks later she called and said the bill would stand but if I bought another system from them , she would discount the sytem the $415. or give me a gift certificate??? for a further service call. I posted this complaint with the better busin ess bureau and on Yelp which got a response from them, I know I was ripped off at least $200 and whats more important is I nor any of the 1115 property owners where I live will not be calling action air. I own 2 other properties that I intended to upgrade the a/c systems this year so guess what David Russell you lost out on about $10,000 worth of merchandise and service. Anyone reading this should look on Yelp for numberous complaints on these people do not get took like I did or the other folks. Call several companies and do your homework.
