My daughter and I was in a pretty bad car accident. With injuries not life-threatening thank God. After getting released from the hospital we went down to the tow yard because I needed my keys so we can get in the house to rest, to feed the cats and to get access to my other car. The lady at the desk said she couldn't do it, so I told her I would speak to a manager. I met the manager outside and told him my situation and asked him for the keys. He said no not unless I paid the $90 tow fee. I was blown away that he was that heartless to not give me my keys. I had cats that need to be fed, my daughter and I need clothes and to rest from the accident.
I was livid. I asked him again and again he said no. There is no job in this world that is more important that you couldnt show a little compassion and just give up the freskin keys! I wasnt asking for my items in the car... just my keys. I want to call the police but my friend went ahead and paid the $90, he said you can pay the $90, sign the title of your car over to us then you can grab all your items we'll call it even. I don't think so!!. We grabbed all my stuff and left. Two days later I went back to get my car with a couple of friends who own a towing business, they were going to tow it to their yard to save me some money.
I went to the lady and told her i wanted my two keys back that someone felt the need to help themselves and just take my keys off my key chain, she put me on the phone with the guy that took them off. I asked him twice to give them back, never got them. I asked the lady how much I owed she said it was $80 for the four pdays for storage and then she said there was a $75 filing fee. I don't know why I would have to pay filing fee I asked her to show me some paperwork showing it was legal for them to charge me, she would not show me any paperwork. I went ahead and paid it and got my car towed to the other lot. They are nasty people there and I don't know if they're running the business legit. I'm leaning towards not.
