I purchased a Toshiba DVR620 DVD/VHS Recorder from Ace internet Solutions, Inc. via Amazon.com. It was described as "Refurbished". When I opened the box, I discovered that it was obviously used hard, filthy & the front panel had been snapped off. When it was connected to the TV, it did not work at all.
I contacted both Ace & Amazon and received approval to return this item for a full refund. I had to pay for return shipping & additional insurance.
I tracked the packatge & contacted Ace when I had proof that the item was in their possession. Ace sent a message promising a full refund within 2-3 busines days.
When no refund was forthcoming, I contacted Ace and my inquiry regarding my refund was ignored. I then called Amazon & was assured that a full refund would be issued within 48 hours.
Amazon emailed stating that I am not entitled to a refund under their "A to Z Guarantee". I contacted Amazon repeatedly by phone & by email. They continue to refuse to issue a full refund.
I sent Amazon a copies of everything proving that Ace not only has my money and the merchandise. I informed Amazon that since Ace is in possession of the merchandise I returned, they are able to re-sell it.
Amazon is fully aware that Ace has committed internet fraud and mail order fraud, yet still refuses to issue a refund in full.
I am now out of pocket of $151.00. I have filled complaints against Ace & Amazon with the USPS Postal Inspection Service & the BBB of Indiana. And am waiting for response from both places.
