Accurate Engines Reviews

  • Apr 23, 2022

The engine Accurate Engines sold me lasted three miles before it experienced complete engine failure due to failure of internal parts Accurate Engines claims they recondition or replaced. They have refused all communication since they received full payment. They will not answer calls, emails, or warranty requests for over a month.

The engine when received was missing parts, does not appear to be the engine we shipped, and may not have even been rebuilt at all.

I am looking for other customers that have had similar experiences with Accurate Engines to form a Class Action Lawsuit against them. I bought my engine from them based on the word of a friend, and a few positive online reviews.

Since then, hundreds of negative reviews and similar customer experiences have been found online. I deeply regret doing business with them. Now they have my money, and I have the failed engine they sold me as rebuilt and with a warranty.

Talked with salesman and he said he could get me the same long Block as another company I had tried to buy a motor from for an amount of $3884. He said it may not come with tinware, (oil pan, valave cover gaskets) but it would be a complete long block with the high-volume oil pump. I asked if the cams and timing would be installed and he said yes and that the journals for oil would be enlarged to help defeat the problems Ford had with these motors.

So I ordered the motor under the assumption that his word of having it delivered to me in 10 days would be true. It actually took a bit longer and I text him and told him it had been long enough and I wanted a full refund on the motor. I immediately received a response back which was confusing because they never respond, but they said the motor had already shipped and they were sorry.

So then the motor arrives later than they actually stated it would and I had to leave at that time to go home to Florida so I dropped the motor and my truck off at The Ford dealership to have installed. I proceeded to leave and go to Florida for a week. I received a call that there would be an additional $800-$1400 in parts that were not with the motor.

I agree that more than likely there would be some things that were missing, oil pan or valve covers, or oil and filters and such. So I agreed. When I got back I went and picked up the computer (PCM) for the truck to send over to Accurate engines, they received it overnight. The next day when I was to receive it back it never showed so I left 70 to 80 text messages emails and phone calls trying to figure out where my computer was so they could put it back in the truck.

That was when the dealership said that the motor was not a long block. I asked if it had heads on it and they said no as a matter of fact there was not even an oil pump. The Ford dealer said that the motor looked like somebody had just sprayed paint on it and sent it out. That left me thinking they more than likely took someones 'core' and shot paint on it and sent it to me without rebuilding it. At this point the price to repair it was at $5100 for extra parts needed.

The next day more parts were found needed and now I'm at around $7000 to install the motor. I immediately contacted My credit card company and opened a dispute wanting half of the money back for the half motor that I received. Now I want a Full refund. Next Day The Ford dealership gets the motor running and calls me to tell me that once it heated up the freeze plugs blew out of it because they had never been changed since the motor had not been rebuilt as Accurate engines had stated it was.

Now the Ford dealership is rounding up parts once again to install freeze plugs in the motor which I am sure will cost another thousand which will total $12,000 for the motor to be installed. Now I am wanting a full refund for this crap that was installed in my truck. I do not believe that they should get this motor back since I do not have the funds to tear into the motor again to pull it apart and out to replace. I just hope it actually last long enough to drive home to Florida from Texas.

Accurate Engines advertises "All parts are new aftermarket unless otherwise stated" and "All parts are new unless otherwise stated"

The 350 Chevy small block purchased had several rusty pitted deteriorated valve springs in both heads. Used valve spring #5 intake failed in under 300 miles. Lanny Hassel's remedy for the Fraud of substituting deteriorated rusty parts for new? Remove the entire engine and send it back to AE for a full refund!

Alternavely, remove the defective heads, return to AE for replacement. AE commits Fraud and I have to bear all the costs and inconvenience? The engine is in my motorhome where I live full time, in this case, brokedown and stranded in an increasingly colder October in Montana.

Required 50 mile tow after breaking down on the road. Required two new heads with all new valve springs and other parts. Required motel stay and removal of defective heads and replacement with new heads with NEW valve springs. Total bill to rectify AE's fraud? Two weeks and a $2737 repair bill.

Did Lanny Hassel offer an apology? Did Lanny Hassel offer to do whatever needed to be done to get me back on the road? His intial solution was "remove the engine and send it back for a full refund." Subsequent "solution" was to remove the heads, return to AE engine for replacement. All tow costs, all repair costs on me, when AE committed Fraud, substituting rusty, deteriorated used parts for New.

In June of 2016 I purchased a crate motor from Powertrains Direct, a sister company of Accurate engines. I had the motor installed at the local Dodge dealership because they are a trusted company in the area. I picked the truck up in early July after they had completed the motor install. I noticed right away that the truck was lacking power but I just figured it need to be broken in. The truck wasn't used much and after about 5000 miles I really noticed that the power was dropping not increasing. I took it back to the dealership to have them look to see if it was a transmission issue and they couldn't find anything and they recommended another shop for the transmission. I picked the truck up and drove it to another shop and asked if they could find the problem. The next day they called me and told me it wasn't the transmission but that the motor was shot.

It wasn't making the compression it needed to do to 70% blow by.

I called Accurate and they said the motor was still under warranty and to have it removed and sent back to them for a look. About 2 to 3 weeks later a new remanufactured crate motor arrived. Well I thought it was remanufactured. The mechanic from the shop called me and told me the motor had arrived and that they would start the next day on intalling it into my truck. The next day they called and said that they needed to see me at the shop because they felt the motor had issues and they wanted to see me before installing it. I left work and headed there to see for myself.

After arriving at the shop the mechanic took me into the bay and showed me the motor and I couldn't believe the shape it was in. First thing he showed me was milky oil with metal flakes in the oil pan that he removed. He said that shouldnt be in there and he also stated that the oil pan gasket was still siliconed to the block and also the oil pickup line was filled with foreign debris. He then showed me water in the block behind they cylinders. Next he pointed out that none of the cylinders had been honed because most of them had gouges and scratehes in them. Last but not least all of the cylinders had been sleeved at some point and time.

I then got on the phone and called Accurate Engines and they sent my call to Lanny, this man is a real peach. I started to tell him some of the problems with the engine and he told me to send it back. I kept on with the list of problems and he told me the mechanic didn't know what he was talking about and to send the motor back, at my cost of course. I then handed the pone to my mechanic and he told Lanny the same thing so Lanny hung up on him. I repeatedly called the company for another two weeks and so did the mechanics shop and calls were never returned. I wanted them to pay for the return of the motor but I eventually had to pay for it and I had to order a new crate motor from another company. This one was in perfect shape unlike the other two from Accurate.

Now here's where the rest of the fun begins. I've made over 15 calls to the company trying to get them to honor their warranty and I have yet to recieve a call back from the in over two months. I send Brittney a copy of the invoice and I talk to one other person and they said they had the returned motor but no refund in site. No one works in the warranty department and they know that but they are just stringing me along. I've talked to numerous people thru social media and they are having the same issues. There are even sites that have been created to try and stear people away from these guys. The Better Business Bureau is a joke and these guys know that. They also know that because most of there crate motor are sold out of state that it's hard to sue them for costs.

The owner of this company is a flat out crook, swindler and a thief. He's hurting hard working families and he doesn't care.

I purchased an engine for my 2004 F150 truck in July of 2015. The engine was defective when shipped and actually only ran for a few minutes. It through a rocker arm and was towed back to the my mechanic. The rocker was replaced by a factory part. It ran OK, but then started leaking oil right away. The rear main seal was leaking and the transmission had to be pulled to replace the seal. The valve cover gasket started leaking oil within a few days. Also the engine started making a loud noise, got poor fuel mileage and ran rough at idle.

Accurate Engines had my mechanic pull the engine and ship it back. They found the timing chain tensioner was bad and replaced it. This made the engine run quieter, but did not help the rough idle and poor fuel mileage.

A year later and over $8000 spent I need a new engine. The local Ford service center found two cylinders have low compression and needs to be rebuilt. Come on!!! How many things can go wrong with this engine?? They actually tried to blame the shipping company and my mechanic. They will not take any responsibility for their lousy work.

Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Run the other way. Do not give them your credit card number. They lie and will scam you. Pay a little extra and have your motor rebuilt locally.
