AccuHealth Insurance Advisors Reviews

Yes, I was a victim of an insurance scam. I thought I did all my research and asked all the right questions, but I still was ripped off. This is NOT HEALTH INSURANCE of any kind. They will tell you it's not major medical, and that is correct. But it's not a PPO, or a sliding-scale deductible, or anything. Your "insurance" card and any numbers on it are meaningless when you present it and try to have it processed at your doctor's office or pharmacy. Man did I get some crazy looks from the office manager at my doctor's office. It's not even a discount plan. It's nothing.

The cost of my plan was $239.90 a month with a one-time enrollment fee of $99.00

Here's what happened to me at two doctor's appointments and a trip to the pharmacy.

I was told by Michael Scheinman that my insurance was through a PPO called Continental Care/UCA Insurance and did not cover four things: pregnancy (not an issue), substance abuse, therapy and mental health. No issues with any of that. Clear as a bell. He also said there are no set deductibles or co-pays, they are based on a sliding scale but average costs are $20-$25 for a PCP and $30-$45 for a specialist. Mammograms are a flat $60, he said. Eye care is covered, too, with one free eye exam a year, and 50% off all frames, glasses and contacts. Prescriptions are $1-$10 for generic and $1-$20 for name brand. There is other coverage, but this pertains mainly to what I experienced and to keep this short.

Keep in mind the above information as here's the REALITY:

My name brand prescription was $220 not $20.

My mammogram was $876 total (the actual mammogram and also the reading) not $60

My specialist doctor's visit was $795 not $45 for a specialist

My primary care doctor charged $221 for an office visit, should have cost $25.

You see where I am going here.

I ENDED UP PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR TWO DOCTORS VISITS, A MAMMOGRAM AND A PRESCRIPTION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN $150 TOTAL.

This is a big deal. Had I known this insurance was CRAP, non-existant, fake and a big scam, I NEVER would have made these doctor's appointments. I would have cancelled the insurance and found a reliable one.

Oh and their claim of "one free eye exam a year" is totally false, as well. Thankfully I called the in-network and approved eye doctor and did not make an appointment when told "we've never heard of this insurance." It was too late for the previous doctor's visits as they already had happened.

No matter what you do - DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY TYPE OF INSURANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY AND ALL THE OTHER NAMES THEY GO BY.
