First and formost I should apologize for not writing this report sooner. I actually used ACCUMETRICS PRENATAL DNA TESTING around the summer of 2013. I feel that if I wrote this report long ago when I should of then there wouldn't be more people that have fallen victim to this company and for that I am truly sorry. I will tell you my story as briefly as possible. I have since moved on from this so maybe that affords me to be more clear and concise rather than extremely angry as I once was.

My story of course starts with I was concerned and questioned paternity of my then ex-girlfried who I was still back and forth with sexually. She stated she was pregnant so of course I questioned it because of other past transgressions and because we were not "together". Fast forward and I did some research and found out about prenatal paternity test and that they were very accurate and not invasive or dangerous as they once were. I told her that I wanted to get one and she agreed and swore up and down that I was wasting my money.

I came across ACCUMETRICS DNA TESTING and found that they do in fact do prenatal dna testing so I decided to go with them mainly because of price and because of limited negative reviews about them. I contacted them and to my suprise I actually spoke with the person I had seen in the video named Harvey Tennenbaum. I thought that it was odd that I actually was able to speak to the spokesperson or owner or whoever he is directly. That was the first red flag. Each time I called before I actually paid for a test kit it was him who answered which I thought was very odd.

So we both took our DNA( mine saliva and hers blood ) by a witness who collected my sample and a phlebotomist to take her blood. I did not order a test that required a chain of custody of DNA so me and my EX just stayed with each other and went straight to send it in the mail directly after DNA samples were taken so there was no questions between us. So I don't remember exactly how long it took but the results came back as I'M NOT THE FATHER. (BTW this came with a graph that looked like a 5th grade science project bar graph) This came as a huge blow and I can admit now that it was devastating and heartbreaking more than I can try and explain. I didn't admit it then but I will admit it now. I told all of my family and friends that I am not the father which was extremely hard and embarrassing.

After I heard the news, absolutely terrible things were said on my part to my EX and I also sent her a 20 page letter which was a vicious verbal assualt telling her what I thought of her which I can never take back. I cannot think of a worse betrayal in this life than this type of scenario so I continued on with my vicious verbal attacks as she swore that the results were wrong. I just kept thinking of all the people on Maury that deny and deny all the way until the last minute and even after they get the results they sometimes still deny.

She did not let up about the tests results being wrong so she said she was going to get her own test done with ACCUMETRICS. I already wrote her off so she said ACCUMETRICS already had my DNA so they could just use it. About a month went by and she got back the results showing I AM THE FATHER. Obviously I was scepticle so I didn't really believe it. I decided to be there for the birth just in case I was the Father but I was emotionally detached by then because I had 2 tests with 2 different results but JUST in case I was the Father I would hate myself If I wasn't there for the birth of any potential children.

I took a post natal DNA test in the Hospitol because they are close to 100 percent accurate and I am in fact the Father to a now almost 2 and half yr old son. BOTTOM LINE- DO NOT USE ACCUMMETRICS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!! I know it can be an embarrassing situation but break down your pride and get the money needed to go through other reputable companies that are out there. Do not be like me, because for me it was a rollercoaster ride of sadness, heartbreak, and betrayal BECAUSE OF ACCUMETRICS getting it wrong. The range of terrible emotions can not be explained that I went through cannot be possibly explained with this quick breakdown of what happened because of the wrong results of Accumetrics. Also the terrible things that were said to my Son's mother because of ACCUMETRICS standing by the results of original test.

IF JUST ONLY ONE PERSON READS MY STORY AND DOES NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE, USELESS, SHAM OF A COMPANY THAN I FEEL THIS WAS WORTH POSTING. DO THE RIGHT THING AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

This is a total scam. I bought one test from these people and I wasn't sure about the result. So i bought another in the wifes name sent the same samples into them and got diffrent results. When i questioned this they would not reply, or offer me a refund. Want some good advice? Keep away from these.

It devastated my life and everyone else. We still love her just the same but the mother still manipulates us all. Had I known this 2 years ago, I could have planned things differently. After I read the rip off concerns about this company, I was very concerned the lab results may have been fraudulent. I tried to contact the lab because the DNA results of both tests did not even match. For those of you who have had successful results, remember it is a 50/50 chance. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. This company should be brought to justice for taking advantage of those of us who trusted them in that they offered an affordable cost.

When I was 13 wks pregnant the alleged father of my child and I decided to take a prenatal paternity test for ease of mind purposes. He paid $800 for this DNA test. We took it, swabbed him, took blood from me and sent it in as directed. We got results back that were negative. So from there on out I (we) took it as he was not the father, that it was the other guy. I mean why, would we think otherwise since this place seemed legit, no negative reviews (on their website) very expensive so we just went with it. Now my son is a yr old and has had a dead beat, less than half the time dad and so therefore I took him for child support. They had to offer him a DNA test so without any doubt we took it knowing what it would say. Results were he was not the father....say what!?

So I, very upset, had to tell both potential fathers that something had went terribly wrong. They knew the situation before I even had the prenatal DNA. They knew that someone's test was wrong. I doubted it was the child support court ordered one. Back to square one to retest the first father (that Accu-metrics/Viaguard tested) legally this time and found out he was the father to begin with and he had missed out on his child's first yr of life; being born, cutting the umbilical cord, feeding him, diapering him, getting teeth, first steps, first word, first holidays, birthday...anyway, my point is Accu-metrics/Viaguard has falsley advertised themselves and gave me wrong results. I don't want anyone else to go through this mess! Run far, far away! They have been reported to the BBB 19 times that I have seen. This happened to several other people like myself that I've found online (I pray not many more). I have emailed them to let them know that they gave me wrong results and no response...imagine that!!

My father Richard ordered an ancestry DNA test for my son for his birthday. He searched online and found viaguard acc-metrics at a great price. We received it in the mail and followed all instructions 1 by 1. My sons father had died several years ago and was wanting more info as to where his ancestry went. Time goes by and finally we received the results. My sons face said it all, disappointing for the both of us. My son is of mixed race. Dark skin and an Afro to top it off. According to the results he is 100% European! Northern European 90% and Eastern European 10%. How can this be??? I've had a paternity test years and years that confirms his biological father, whom was black! So these have to be false results!

We were requested to perform an DNA testing to prove the parent-child relationship on Feb 9 2017 by CIC. We have the DNA testing samples collected on Feb 10 2017 in Calgary and the Lab is VIAGUARD ACCU-METRICS LABORATORY on the list. I was told by the lab that the results would be available in a week, but I have not received the results as of today on Mar 13 2017. I called and emailed them many times and they told me the results would be available anytime, soon, blabla….. but they never keep their promises. Now they do not either take my phone calls or reply my emails.

I checked the customer reviews of this lab; it is 1 out of 5 stars based on Better Business Bureau BBB reveiws, and 2.4 out of 5 stars based on Google reviews; and there are full of negative reviews such as delays, wrong spelling of names, no doctor’s signature on the reports, wrong results…… I wish I could read the reviews before using this lab. DO NOT USE THIS LAB. So I would contact CIC and SCC removing this lab VIAGUARD ACCU-METRICS LABORATORY from the list of accredited laboratories.

I found this service advertised on the internet, and dutifully sent in my $ 69.00 for genetics testing, with a request for additional dna testing. I received ther swabs, swabbed and sent them in the mail to be processed. After about 2 weeks, I called to follow up, and was informed by "Cathy" or "Kathy", who answers the phone, (and is one of the most insulting, rude, aggressive and controlling persons that I have met in a LONG, LONG time. She is rude and controlling, and is condescending. I am sure that her superiors dont know how she operates cause nothing gets past her, no complaints or enquiries, as she is the gate-keeper. Complaints and concerns over this VERY delicate matter are not treated with ANY empathy whatsoever, and they have my money now and are treating me like a piece of s___

Very unprofessional. They quickly charge your credit card and then forget about you. Two months later I'm still chasing them for the results of my test. I was told that it should have taken three weeks.

I ordered my DNA from ancestry and medical online. I have a Hispanic last name through marriage, but I am not Hispanic. I am of Northern European descent. I have solid documentation of this through genealogy records. I have very light eyes, hair and skin. My DNA results came back as 1/4 Native American and 3/4 Spanish… A reasonable DNA make up for someone who is Mexican or Latin American. They did not even test my DNA. They just guessed based on my last name. They did give me a refund when I called them on it. Please, don't use this service. It's a scam.

I ordered DNA profiling for me to check for certain genes and risk factors for certain diseases, paid over $200 and the result came after about a month (promised 2-3 weeks), anyway the report is very basic all it says low risk or moderate risk, my doctor wants to see the actual allyles and their presence in order to properly identify the risk and come up with recommendations, so I emailed them requesting the raw file (which has the actual lab results), no answer after a week, so I called them and they told me no, they don't release the actual data of my test! their report is basically useless, all other competitors do release the raw file because that's what you paid for, except those guys, they should not be in health care business, I will report them to the Ontario College of Lab techs, and to all other licensing bodies they operate under because they can't hold lab data from patients esp if the patient has paid for that, they are beyond reason, use an alternative and proper service.

Scam company

This company is a scam. No question about it. Their modus oprandi is they ask for a photo and ask enough questions when you fill in the registration form so that they are able to make an educated guess in relation to ancestry or predisposition to disease. I doubt they even submit the sampels for any testing whatsoever. Just a total scam.

I submitted a sample for analysis to Accu-Metrics. The purpose was to determine if I have any genetic predispositions towards certain known conditions. Prior to submitting the sample, I knew the following:

I have been diagnosed with Lactose Intolerance by two family doctors.

I have been diagnosed with Familial Hypercholesterolimia by two family doctors and research physician at a local university, confirmed by multiple blood tests through accredited laboratories.

Both my parents have high cholesterol

My mother has type 2 diabetes.

Multiple blood screenings over the years have confirmed I was 'borderline' risk for diabetes (this is managed through diet now)

A recent colonoscopy revealed 'no issues' and I am not at risk for bowel cancer.

I have a full head of thick hair that grows so rapidly, I need weekly cuts. (I know this seems randon, but it will factor in below)

After submitting payment for the service, I was forwarded a test kit. I submitted a DNA sample for exam, and the report that was returned indicated the following, among other things: -The 'lactose intolerance' gene variant was absent

-The 'familial hypercholesterolimia' variant was absent.

-I was 'low risk' for both type one and two diabetes

-I was 'low risk' for coronary disease

-I was 'medium risk' for colon cancer

-I carried the 'male pattern baldness' gene variant This is clearly in contradiction to the proven information that was established by recognized, licensed physicians and laboratories. Given these known inconsistencies, it throws the entirety of the test results into doubt. If I had the funds available, I would like to test some of the other 'conditions' that they flagged me for, as I'm fairly certain they'd be proven not to be an issue either. I've sent multiple email requests for an explanation or refund, to no avail. Stay away from this company at all costs. They will NOT provide you with accurate information.

I first paid $99.00 to give a saliva sample for DNA testing. My return letter wanted another $125.00 to review my sample and send me the results. That in itself was a RIPOFF--wanting another $125.00+to analyse my sample!! That additional cost was not in the fine print of the online offer for DNA testing..which meant without paying the additional fee, you could not get your report. You were screwed!! I paid the $125.00.

Anyway, I sent a request to the provided e-mail address for a complete analysis of my report for ID: @1233xxx

PIN: 74xxx

I have tried 3 times and still haven't heard back from them. My first request was sent 11/2016!! Almost 2 YEARS AGO!! I WANT ANSWERS.....I spent $224.00....they owe me that much.

I went to a website named geneticsaustralia.com. It promised DNA health testing. Because I have some genetic mutations I wanted to get a broader test to identify any other health related issues. The claims on the website indicated they could test for racial origins as well as a broad range of DNA markers relating to rare health conditions.

After paying the $199.00 I received the test kit and sent it back on the promise of results in 2 weeks. After three weeks I started trying to contact them. That website is now for sale. After sending a number of emails and a further three months it is obvious that these guys are pure scammers. Google searches further reveal that many results that people have received were later proven to be fake.

I don't have to write any more about these criminals. There is plenty of information about them elsewhere. Be aware that companies like this set up many fake names along the way. Check whether the company you try to use is in any way connected to DNA testing in Canada. It will give you fake results.

I sent off for what they call First Nations dna testing for clarification on the percentage of American Indian heritage. I know it is there as my whole family looks like that and I have always been told that, especially when asking about the skin color of family members.

I ordered the first test ($150.) on myself and the company replied that they would email me when they received my samples, and 3 other times, the last one being when results were ready. I never received any emails regarding these samples. I had to go to their website and download them when I rightfully guessed they were ready. The results sounded like they had pulled them out of their a*s!

I did not believe they were valid and neither did other family members. So, we decided to have another family member take the test (again for $150.) whom has very strong American Indian features. We figured that it couldn't be denied then. Again, I waited for their emails and received none. When I went to their results website to check, a new message comes up stating that they are updating the site, that my results will be emailed to me, and I am blocked from going any further.

It has been over a month and still no emails and I am left with no way to get my results. Meantime, I started receiving emails, supposedly from a disgruntled fired employee, stating that the whole company is a total scam! It sounded valid to me, and the answer as to why I was being treated in such a way. So, I emailed the company and stated that I demanded a refund.

Their reply was that there was no reason for a refund, that I had received results on both tests, that they had not shut down any of their websites to the public, and that they refused to give me a refund. Of course, I know that they are lying.

I haven't received the results of the last test and am left with no way of getting them, and their results website prevents me from getting my results.

When a customer pays for a service, and doesn't get that service, it is called a scam! Please do not do business with this company! Like I said earlier, even the results that I did get from the first report sounded like they pulled it out of their a*s!

I purchased a Canine DNA tesing kit from a seller on Ebay that was selling this product from this company. I followed all the directions regarding collecting the DNA samples. I was very skeptical about the instruction to also include a picture of the dog and did not include that picture online when registering my product. I purchased this product on 11-11-17, received it on 11-15-17, collected the samples and mailed it in on 11-17-17. Again, I did not include a picture of my dog online where I had registered to receive my results. The company said they needed a picture to include on the certificate. I did not care if I had a picture of my dog on the certificate or not, and again, was very skeptical of why they even needed a picture of my dog. The instructions provided said that I would receive my genetic profile in approximately 14 business days.

I checked my account daily after 14 days, and no results were available. I was becoming much more suspicious of this company with each day I did not receive any results as I had not submitted a picture of my dog. Finally, around the first of the year I grew tired of waiting for my results, and even more skeptical about what was going on, and submitted a picture of a pure bred yellow labrador retriever. My dog is a little, black, mixed breed. Amazingly, on 1-6-18, I received my "Canine Breed Composition DNA Analysis Certificate". That certificated my dog was a "Flat-Coated Retriever & Labrador Retriever". Again, my dog is a little mixed breed and in no way could be considered a Retriever of any type. There is no way this company did any genetic testing and only looked at the submitted picture to determine the dog breed.

Wrong Gender Test

The price was right ($79 Canadian) so I ordered a prenatal gender blood test. Weeks later I didn't receive the promised "kit" so I called the company. The woman was ride and barely listened to me thinking I wanted to speak about a prenatal paternity test. She did send out another kit and when I receive it, it was jsut a blood collection tube with no instructions. I called them and asked what I'm supposed to do and they acted stumped. Finally someone told me to go to a lab in my city and get the blood drawn. I went to a lab and they thought the whole process was odd. I got my blood drawn and sent the sample away. When I received an email with my baby's sex it seemed very unprofessional. There was nothing stating what they analyzed, nor did it have my name. Nothing which would lead me to believe it was a professional service. I was told boy, but when my baby was born it was a girl. Emails and calls to the company have done nothing.
